[17]And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;
[18]Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

[19]For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 21 NOVEMBER 2023 MESSAGE

Many people want to partake in the blessings of Abraham, yet they cannot make sacrifices like Abraham.
If you want the blessings of Abraham, you have to behave like him. Be ready to obey God completely.

No doubt, the blessings of Abraham transcend generations after him, including everyone who accepts Jesus as his/her personal Saviour, however, the blessing is not automatic.

God told Abraham to separate himself from his father’s house because they were idol worshippers, and he did.
Thus, you have to separate yourself from the world if you truly want to be like Father Abraham.
For instance, you cannot remain with bad friends or be badly behaved and yet expect to enjoy the blessings.
You have to consecrate yourself by changing your circle of friends.
One sign of the covenant of Abraham’s blessings was circumcision.
All his male children, including himself, were circumcised. Today, circumcision is beyond the male organ: it is of the heart.
It means to rid one’s heart of every impure thought and be dedicated to God alone. Are you willing to pay the price?

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 21 NOVEMBER 2023 ACTION POINT

To enjoin Abraham’s blessings, you have to pay the price.

HYMN 17 – THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS
1. “There shall be showers of blessing”
This is the promise of love;
There shall be season refreshing
Send from a savior above
Showers of blessing
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy drops round us are falling

But for the showers we plead.
2. “There shall be showers of blessing”
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys;
Sound of abundance of rain.
3. “There shall be showers of blessing”

Send them upon us Oh Lord!
Grant to us now a refreshing;
Come now and honour Thy Word.
4. “There shall be showers of blessing”
Oh, that today thy might fall,
Now as to God we are Confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
5. “There shall be showers of blessing”
If we but trust and obey;

There shall be season refreshing,
If we let God have his way.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 20 NOVEMBER 2023 MESSAGE

God is happy whenever His children praise Him, and this moves Him to grant their requests.

Praise can be in the form of singing, dancing, shouting for joy, et cetera.

Whichever style you choose, praising God is giving honour to Him, and it is the most powerful instrument to move God.
As a matter of fact, the entire creation was made to praise God.
When you get to heaven, the one assignment you will have forever is praising God.
He personally inhabit the praises of His children.
Praise will move God to stand so as to help bless, deliver, save, and defend you.
Praises bring victory, as seen in our memory verse for today.
When the enemies think that they have blocked your way or captured you, praise God, and He will deliver you.

In His hands He gently bears us,
Rescues us from all our foes.
Praise Him! Praise Him!
Widely yet His mercy flows!

Sun and moon, bow down before Him,
Dwellers all in time and space.

BIBLE PASSAGE: Romans 8:5-8

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

TEXT REVIEW: Romans 8:5-8

In pleasing God, Apostle Paul in his epistle to the Romans and by extension every believer distinguishes between walking in the flesh and in the Spirit.
He stated thus:

i. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh. but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. V5a.

ii. For to be ……………….. V6.

iii. Because the carnal ………………… V7.

iv. So then they ……………………………. V8.

TEACHING METHOD:

The Lecture Method.

TIME MANAGEMENT:

The teacher should apply two-lesson outlines of teaching time

OUTLINES:

1. WALKING IN THE SPIRIT

2. LIVING BY FAITH AND OBEDIENCE

1. WALKING IN THE SPIRIT

A. Paul reminds the believers in Rome that “they who are in the flesh cannot please God” (Romans 8:8).

i. So the first step in pleasing God is to accept the sacrifice for sin that He provided in the death of Jesus Christ on the cross.

ii. Only then are we “in the Spirit” and not In the flesh.

iii. We do this by faith because
“without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”
(Hebrews 11:6).

B. In Romans 8, Paul explains the difference between the sinful nature and the nature of those regenerated by the Spirit.

i. Those who are still in their sin have their minds set on sinful desires, whereas the ones regenerated by Christ have a completely new mind that is controlled by the Spirit and desire to live by following Him (Romans 8:6-8).

ii. The next step for believers in pleasing God is to be sure we are walking in the Spirit, not in the flesh (Galatians 5:16).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1:

From today’s Bible passage, share in your dialect how you can please God.

2. LIVING BY FAITH AND OBEDIENCE

A. We must live by faith (Hebrews 10:38; 11:6). God cannot be pleased with those who:

i. Draw back from Him because they have no confidence him (Hebrews 10:39).

ii. Doubt the truth of His declarations and promises (1 Corinthians 1:20).

iii. Do not believe that His way is right, holy and perfect (Psalm 18:30).

B. The requirement of faith and confidence in God is not unreasonable;
its just what we require from our children and spouses, and it is an indispensable condition of our being pleased with them. So it is with God.

C. Therefore, pleasing God is a matter of living according to His precepts, and commandments, and doing so in love (John 14:15).

i. The epistles are Gods plan for believers and are filled with exhortations to display throughout our lives the behaviour that is pleasing to God.

“Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God. so ye would abound more and more.”
(1Thessalonians 4:1).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2:

Students should discuss why Christians are to live by faith.

CONCLUSION: RCCG SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS MANUAL 19 NOVEMBER 2023

God wants us to please Him, and He makes it possible for us to please Him. We do these things by the power of His Spirit who lives in our hearts.

Rccg Sunday School Teachers Manual 19 November 2023

INTRODUCTION

A mentor is a person who gives a younger or less experienced person help and advice over a period of time, especially at work, school, Church, ministry, family, etc. The person is an experienced and trusted adviser (Exodus 18:17-21).

The ministry of a mentor is an active office of someone who is intentionally committed to raising those who aspire to be guided into their reality.

This office is not to make them become like their mentor but to guide them into becoming whom God has wired them to be in life.

It is glaring that there is a scarcity of genuine mentors everywhere, hence, there is a need to understand the place of mentorship.

OUTLINES:

1. PURPOSE OF MENTORSHIP AND COMMON MISTAKES

2. ACCESSING MENTORS

1. PURPOSE OF MENTORSHIP AND COMMON MISTAKES

A. The teacher should ask the students what they understand by mentorship

i. Mentorship is a relationship involving two individuals, where one serves as the mentor and the other as the mentee (Exodus 18:20; 1 Kings 19:16).

ii. A mentee is an individual who has submitted to the tutelage of a mentor to learn from his/her vast array of insight (Acts 22:3).

B. While it is good to be mentored by an experienced individual, the purpose of mentorship should be well understood (1 Kings 19:16). Mentorship is to:

i. Bridge the gap of knowledge existing in a sphere of life.

ii. Maintain certain ordinance that has been in existence.

iii. Have men who will continue certain legacies.

iv. Raise a platform where the young can glean from the knowledge of the old and provide a platform for trans-generational impact.

C. Certain mistakes should be avoided in mentorship. These include:

i. Not being intentional about the mentorship process.

ii. Not being egocentric on the side of the mentee (that he/she knows more than the mentor).

iii. Not thinking mentorship is slavery in disguise.

iv. Not having over-familiarity syndrome.

v. Not having mentors who fully open up to their mentees for fear of being betrayed or rising above them.

CLASS ACTIVITY 1:

Discuss your experience as a mentor or mentee and the lessons learned.

2. ACCESSING MENTORS

1. How do we access a mentor?

2. Do we choose a mentor or a mentor chooses us?

A. Ideally, mentoring ought to be intentional – the mentor carefully and prayerfully chooses whom to mentor.

B. However, in present-day reality, the reverse seems to be the case – people now search for whom to mentor them.

C. Knowing the right kind of mentor is as important as finding one.

D. You can as well be coached by proxy through books, tapes or other materials.

E. There are formidable steps that can be used as yardsticks for finding or selecting mentors for yourself:

i. You need to understand yourself and your purpose in life.

ii. You must also understand the field of expertise in which you want to function and search for the individual with proven records in that sphere.

iii. A godly behavioural lifestyle is very essential in the chosen mentor.

iv. Make the mentorship process official so as to have the best kind of communication between you and the mentor.

v. Choose someone that would be available to guide you to your goal. This is very important.

CLASS ACTIVITY 2:

How can you maximize mentorship without abusing it?

CONCLUSION: RCCG YAYA SUNDAY SCHOOL YOUTH 19 NOVEMBER 2023

A mentorship relationship is not friendship. The mentee must not become irresponsible in handling certain aspects of his/her life in the process of mentorship.

QUESTION:

  • What is the purpose of mentorship?
  • How can believers have access to good mentors?

TODAY’S LESSON

Memory Verse: Ecclesiastes 7:9

Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom offools.

Bible Text: Numbers 20:1-13

Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.

And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.

And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the Lord!

And why have ye brought up the congregation of the Lord into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?

And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.

And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the Lord appeared unto them.

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.

And Moses took the rod from before the Lord, as he commanded him.

10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?

11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

12 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

13 This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the Lord, and he was sanctified in them.

Lesson Introduction:

Anger is known to be a strong feeling of displeasure or antagonism towards someone or something usually combined with an urge to harm.

Anger always has a message; it reveals ones dissatisfaction on certain issues. It arises when one is blocked from pursuing a goal or treated unfairly.

And it is one of the most dangerous emotions because of its potential connection to violence.

LEADER’S DIARY

Lesson Aim:

To make believers understand the need to avoid anger because of its grievous consequences that may be destructive.

Teaching Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:

  • know what anger is.
  • get information on the consequences of anger.

Text Review: Numbers 20:1-13

  • Never allow yourselves to be used to trigger anger.
  • An act of ingratitude can trigger anger.
  • Anger can initiate distraction from divine instructions and principles.
  • Anger can erode divine assignments and one’s attainment.

Teaching Method:

First, ask members how they react to anger. Then use lecture method to dispense the lesson.

Time Management:

Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.

Lesson Outline One: ANGER

Anger can be defined as strong feeling of displeasure, antagonism or hostility towards someone with an urge to harm.

This strong emotion, if unrestricted, can lead very quickly to sin – Genesis 4:5-7.

There are four causes of anger;

i. Frustration: The feeling of being upset as a result of inability to achieve something.

ii. Irritation: The state of experiencing discomfort.

iii. Abuse: To treat with cruelty or violence.

iv. Unfairness: The lack of equality, justice or unjust act.

Lesson Outline Two: ANGER DESTROYS

Let’s look at things that anger can destroy;

  • Relationship, Esau to Jacob – Genesis 27:41-45.
  • Family -Genesis 45:7; II Samuel 13:22-32.
  • Glorious Future – Numbers 20:10-12.
  • Ministerial value, Jonah refused to go to Nineveh Jonah 1:3.
  • Nation or City, Levi and Simeon vomited destruction to an entire city because of injustice done to Dinah their sister Genesis 34:25-27.
  • Health.

Activity:

Like the Bible says we should not walk with an angry man.

How can we achieve this?

SUMMARY:

Whatever begins with anger ends in shame.

CONCLUSION: RCCG HOUSE FELLOWSHIP LEADERS MANUAL 19 NOVEMBER 2023

Anger kills and any man who gets angry easily, each rage leaves him lesser than he was prior to being angry.

[21]That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

[22]And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
[23]I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 19 NOVEMBER 2023 MESSAGE

In John 10:30, Jesus says, I and my Father are one”.
The concept of Trinity can be analysed using an egg.

An egg has three parts: The shell, egg white and yolk. These three parts make a whole even though they are different parts.

They can also function differently, even though they come together to make a whole.
Similarly, the Trinity is one, even though they can function independently.
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit work together as team players.
They were there at the creation when God said, “Let us make man in our own image”.
God the Son also took the form of man and waited on God the Father’s instruction before doing anything on earth.
He also did nothing without the backing of the Holy Spirit. The Godhead is so united!

My child, unity and teamwork are hallmarks of humility.
If you find it difficult to work or live with others, it is because you are proud.
God is interested in team-play: this is why no one is self-sufficient.

Also, note that you were born into a family so that you can play your role as a team member.
A tree cannot make a forest. You need good people as much as they also need you.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 19 NOVEMBER 2023 HYMN

HYMN 12 – HOLY, HOLY, HOLY! LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!
1. Holy, Holy, Holy!

Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning
Our song shall rise to thee:
Holy, holy, holy,
Merciful and Mighty!
God in Three Persons,
Blessed, Trinity!
2. Holy, Holy, Holy!
All the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns

Around the glassy sea:
Cherubim and seraphim
Falling down before Thee,
Which wert and art,
And evermore shalt be.
3. Holy, Holy, Holy!

Though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eyes of sinful man
Thy glory may not see
Only thou art holy:
There is none beside Thee,
Perfect in power, in love, and purity.
4. Holy, Holy, Holy!
Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise
Thy name, in earth and sky, and sea;
Holy, Holy, Holy,
Merciful and Mighty!
God in Three Persons,
Blessed, Trinity!

RCCG HOUSE FELLOWSHIP ANTHEM LYRICS

The RCCG house fellowship anthem song showcases we are one family in Christ.

Here are the RCCG house fellowship anthem hymn lyrics:

  1. I love this family of God,
    So closely knitted into one,
They have taken me into their arms
And am so glad to be
A part of this great family
  2. I bless this family of God,
So greatly prospered by the Lord,
They have taken me into their arms
And am so glad to be
A part of this great family
  3. I know this family of God,
So deeply rooted in the word,
They have taken me into their arms
And am so glad to be
A part of this great family
  4. I see this family of God,
    So highly lifted above all,
They have taken me into their arms
And am so glad to be
A part of this great family
  5. Come, join this family of God,
So highly favoured by the Lord,
They have taken me into their arms
And am so glad to be
A part of this great family.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

Anger is known to be a strong feeling of displeasure or antagonism towards someone or something usually combined with an urge to harm.

Anger always has a message; it reveals ones dissatisfaction on certain issues. It arises when one is blocked from pursuing a goal or treated unfairly.

And it is one of the most dangerous emotions because of its potential connection to violence.

ANGER

Anger can be defined as strong feeling of displeasure, antagonism or hostility towards someone with an urge to harm.

This strong emotion, if unrestricted, can lead very quickly to sin – Genesis 4:5-7.

There are four causes of anger;

i. Frustration: The feeling of being upset as a result of inability to achieve something.

ii. Irritation: The state of experiencing discomfort.

iii. Abuse: To treat with cruelty or violence.

iv. Unfairness: The lack of equality, justice or unjust act.

ANGER DESTROYS

Let’s look at things that anger can destroy;

  • Health.

CONCLUSION: RCCG HOUSE FELLOWSHIP MANUAL 19 NOVEMBER 2023

Anger kills and any man who gets angry easily, each rage leaves him lesser than he was prior to being angry.

RCCG YAYA SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER MANUAL 19 NOVEMBER 2023 (LESSON 12)

TOPIC: MINISTRY OF MENTORS

OPENING PRAYER:

Father, help me to understand the role of mentors in my life.

TODAY’S LESSON

BIBLE PASSAGE: 2Timothy 2:1-2

1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

MEMORY VERSE: 1 Corinthians 4:15 (NKJV)

For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel

TEACHER’S DIARY

LESSON AIM:

Father, help me to understand the role of mentors in my life.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES:

Through the lesson, students should be able to:

a. Understand what mentorship is.

b. Know the purpose of mentorship and common mistakes.

c. Know how to access mentors.

TEXT REVIEW: 2 Timothy 2:1-2.

The Apostle Paul in his letter to Timothy encourages him:

i. To be …………………….. v1.

ii. To ……………………… v2.

TEACHING METHOD:

The Discussion Method.

OUTLINES:

CONCLUSION: RCCG YAYA SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER MANUAL 19 NOVEMBER 2023

A mentorship relationship is not friendship. The mentee must not become irresponsible in handling certain aspects of his/her life in the process of mentorship.

EVALUATION:

What is mentorship and how can you access it?

CLOSING PRAYER:

Father, help me to not abuse the gift of mentorship You have made available for me.

RCCG YAYA SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER MANUAL 19 NOVEMBER 2023 ASSIGNMENT

If you do not have a mentor, spend some time this week praying to God for a divine connection between you and your predestined mentor. (No marks).

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 18 NOVEMBER 2023 BIBLE READING Judges 13:2-5

[2]And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bare not.
[3]And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.

[4]Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing:
[5]For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 18 NOVEMBER 2023 MESSAGE

Everyone who is born again has greatness in him/her, so if you are born again, congratulations because there is a potential to become a divine champion in you!

Your age has nothing to do with it at all.

God told Jeremiah that He knew him before he was formed in the belly, so you may be unknown right now, but a day would come when you would become known.
Divine champions are not fearless fighters but courageous ones.
They do not allow fear to overcome them, instead, they rely solely on God.
To be a divine champion, my child, you must adore God and see every mountain as a potential testimony: that was how David defeated Goliath and became a champion.
Divine champions always do things with all their heart and they always laugh last because they confront every battle in the name of the Lord.
A divine champion will always say, “it can be done, all will be well, and God will intervene.”

The language of a divine champion is positivity because they believe in what is written in Philippians4:13: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 18 NOVEMBER 2023 KEY POINT

Father, thank you for making me a divine champion.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 18 NOVEMBER 2023 HYMN

HYMN 15 – ONWARD, CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS
1. Onward, Christian soldiers!
Marching as to war,

Looking unto Jesus,
Who is gone before;
Christ, the Royal Master,
Leads against the foe;
Forward into battle,

See His banners go.
Onward, Christian soldiers!
Marching as to war,
Looking unto Jesus,
Who is gone before.
2. At the name of Jesus
Satan’s host doth Ilee;
On then, Christian soldiers
On to victory!
Hell’s foundations quiver

At the shout of praise:
Brothers, lift your voices,
Loud your anthems raise.
3. Like a mighty army
Moves the Church of God:

Brothers, we are treading
Where the saints have trod.
We are not divided,
All one body we
One in hope and doctrine,
One in charity.
4. Crowns and thrones may perish
Kingdoms rise and wane;
But the Church of Jesus
Constant will remain:
Gates of hell can never
‘Gainst that church prevail;
We have Christ’s own promise-
And that cannot fail.
5. Onward then, ye people,
Join our happy throng;

Blend with ours your voices
In the triumph song:
“Glory, praise and honour,
Unto Christ the King”,
This, through countless ages,
Men and angels sing.
