7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

OPEN HEAVEN 25 APRIL 2023 MESSAGE

When it comes to anointing, God is so generous that He gives it in abundance. He anointed David in the presence of his brethren in (1 Samuel 16:13), again as king over Judah in (2 Samuel 2:4) and yet again as king over the whole of Israel in (2 Samuel 5:3). God just kept on pouring the anointing on him.

In Acts 19:11-12, the Bible says He so anointed Paul that his handkerchiefs were healing the sick. In Acts 5:15, He so anointed Peter that anything his shadow touched was impacted by the anointing.

Once while on a visit to one of my children in the United States, I saw four women moving up and down in the kitchen. I wondered why his wife had so many people helping to prepare a meal for me. Little did I know that those four women had been trusting God for the fruit of the womb. In any case, I ate and left.

After I left, one by one, the women sat on the chair I had used and nine months later, three of them were already carrying their children while the fourth gave birth three months after the first three. From this moment on, everywhere you walk past will become anointed, in Jesus’ name.

If you want this kind of anointing, you must be ready to live a life of consecration. You cannot be in love with the things of this world and expect to carry this kind of anointing. Those who are anointed to overflowing are addicted to prayers and Bible study.

Apostle Paul said in (2 Corinthians 11:27-28): In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

God only gives this kind of anointing to people who are totally sold out to Him. When you begin to receive this anointing, be sure to use it, so that it doesn’t diminish. Just as batteries have a life span, the anointing also has a lifespan. Use the anointing the Lord has given you for His glory so you don’t lose it.

24 And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.

25 And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much.

OPEN HEAVEN 24 APRIL 2023 MESSAGE

God is so generous that when He wants to give you victory, He makes you more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). He doesn’t just give you victory, He gives it abundantly. David said in Psalm 23:5 that God did not only give him victory over his enemies, He also prepared a table for him right in their presence. Now that is a different level of victory.

In our Bible reading for today, three kings came against Jehoshaphat, but God used them to destroy one another and then all their wealth was transferred to Jehoshaphat. Without fighting at all, Jehoshaphat and his people enjoyed victory and gained so much spoil that it took three days to transport it all to their country.

This is in line with God’s promise in Deuteronomy 28:7: The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

The Almighty God says that because He has decided to help you, those who are incensed against you shall perish and become as nothing (Isaiah 41:10-13). The Lord says He shall fight for you while you just hold your peace (Exodus 14:14).

He says further in Colossians 2:14-15: Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

You should be rejoicing if you are truly a child of God. Those who don’t know Jesus Christ don’t know what they are missing. The One inside you is greater than he that is in the world. To qualify as one of those who God loves and abides with, simply obey Him (John 14:23). If you want to experience victory over your enemies without a fight, obey all His commandments.

There is this story of a friend of mine who was a successful lawyer and also owned a bakery. He was wealthy but did not believe in giving tithes. One day, I called him and advised him to give his tithe, but he refused and went on with his business as usual.

As you know, a lawyer’s pride is in his victories in court, but unfortunately, he lost three cases in quick succession. As though that was not bad enough, all his workers at the bakery left without notice in less than a month. Then, he ran to me lamenting. I told him, “You did not believe in tithing.” From that moment, he started giving his tithes, and things became even better for him.

If you fail to take godly advice, you cannot escape from the fowler’s snare. One of the baits the enemy uses to ensnare children of God is to encourage them to shun the godly counsel of parents, leaders and even friends. Don’t be like Samson: it took the loss of his sight and strength to remember that he had been warned by his parents and he refused their counsel.

INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT)

ICT is technology that is used to handle all forms information and communication process which can now all be assessed via the internet. The internet gives users quick access to information content. Youths are more involved in social media which are web- based technologies that facilitate sharing of ideas, thoughts and information through building of virtual network and communities. Social median platforms enable users to create and share contents, build social networks with other people with similar personal, business, career, spiritual interests or activities.

Example are Facebook, Facebook messenger, YouTube, Twitter, Whatsapp, Telegram, LinkedIn, Google+ Yahoo, Snapchat, Zoom, Pinterest, Ouora, TikTok, Viber, ect.

LESSON OUTLINE TWO:

GODLY USE OF ICT

Technology is a very good tools for development that king Uzziah used to build his army and the kindgom of judah in his days. Christian youths can use ICT especially the social media for the following:

1. PROPAGATION OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST. Hab. 2:14, youths are encouraged to use the social media to share their faith in the Lord Jesus across the world.

2. SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCERS. Titus 2:7. 1 Tim 4:12. Youths can become great influencers for God through social media as they showcase Christ through their lives and testimonies to the world.

3. BUILDING GODLY RELATIONSHIP. Prov. 18:24, 2 Corinthians 6:14-16. Social media enable Christian youths to easily connect with families, friends school mates, business association on social media to share the scriptures, Prayers, Sermons etc. That will encourage and build their faith in Christ Jesus. Phil 1:3.

4. EDUCATION, BUSINESS AND CORPORATE ENGAGEMENTS prov. 22:29. ICT (social media) is an effective communication tools for business, advocacy groups etc. Products and services can also be used advertised or marketed via the social media. Likewise education books textbook, papers can be shared via the social media.

SUMMARY: Building Godly relationship enhanced one’s ability to gain access to divine information.

CONCLUSION: There is need for discipline and caution in the use of ICT tools by the youths to prevent corruption of their hearts and derailment from fulfillment of their destinies

1 Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah.

2 He built Eloth, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.

3 Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.

4 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah did.

5 And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.

6 And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines.

7 And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gurbaal, and the Mehunims.

8 And the Ammonites gave gifts to Uzziah: and his name spread abroad even to the entering in of Egypt; for he strengthened himself exceedingly.

11 Moreover Uzziah had an host of fighting men, that went out to war by bands, according to the number of their account by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the ruler, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king’s captains.

12 The whole number of the chief of the fathers of the mighty men of valour were two thousand and six hundred.

13 And under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.

LESSON INTRODUCTION : Youths tend to be creative, adaptable, and innovative. Hence, they stand a greater chance to benefit more from rapid growth of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The internet which is most used form ICT by Youths, present both opportunity and challenges in terms of their spiritual and social development Parents, Pastors and Teaches must always guide the youths on the godly use of ICT. 2kings 12:2, Ps. 119:37.

One day, an old man met a bubbling young man on his way to the farm. The old man was frail bent and needed a walking stick to move around. On seeing the old man, the young man began to laugh at him, then, the old man asked why he was laughing. “Why shouldn’t I laugh? What can you do?” the young man asked. The old man replied, “I know I am too feeble to run after you or fight you, but the basket is never satisfied with water”, and he went his way.

Almost immediately, the young man developed an unquenchable thirst. At the first hut he stopped at to ask for water, the people discerned that something was wrong. The young man narrated his encounter with the old man and what he had said to him. After narrating his ordeal, they accompanied him to search for the old man.

They found him and begged for his forgiveness. The old man accepted and said, “Alright, from now on, you cease to be the basket and you will begin to have satisfaction.” That was the end of the young man’s strange thirst.

Beloved, do everything possible not to be cursed by God or man. If the curse from a fellow man can be disastrous, how much more a curse from God?
