[15]Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?

[16]So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 17 MARCH 2023 MESSAGE

The first life lesson from the parable of the vineyard is, before one sets out on a project with another person, an agreement must be spelt out, and terms must be established so that there would be no misunderstandings.

In today’s Bible text, the landowner hired the first set of vineyard workers with the agreement to pay the normal daily wage before sending them out to work on the farm.

The fact that the landowner made an agreement before he sent them out to work made a big difference when the same set of workers had an issue with being paid the same amount as those who were employed much later. In the parable, the landowner asked: “Didn’t you agree to work all day for this amount of wage?” Had he not made that agreement before they started working, it would have been an issue against Him.

Thus, when you meet new people or share responsibilities, always set boundaries, define your relationship with people, and have written agreements on projects if possible so that everyone can be on the same page.

OPEN HEAVEN 18 MARCH 2023 MESSAGE

In (1 Kings 17:2-16), God sent His word to guide Elijah to where he would get food for a period of time. When the time elapsed, the word came again, telling him to go to Zarephath where God had already made arrangements for his feeding through a widow.

The word of God guides; He tells you what to do when there seems to be no way out of a difficult situation. I pray that the Lord will open your ears so that you can begin to hear from Him. You will solve problems faster if you can hear directly from God.

When I was working on my PhD thesis, I ended up with many simultaneous equations. Even solving one of these is stressful enough, talk less of the volume I had to deal with! I tried and tried to solve them but I couldn’t. One day, before going to bed, I read Exodus 14 where the Israelites crossed the Red Sea. Suddenly, I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Bring your equations”. I did just that and then He began to say, “Put this one on the right, put this one on the left and so on”.

By the time I finished and took a look at those on the right, they all had something in common. It was the same thing for those on the left. Because they were all jumbled together before, I couldn’t see that. The Lord then said, “Solve the ones on the right separately, the ones on the left separately, then combine.

That was exactly what happened at the Red Sea. The sea parted, the Israelites passed through and the sea came together again killing Pharaoh and his army.” Five hours later, my thesis was ready. God’s voice solved in 5 hours what I hadn’t been able to solve in 18 months.

When my thesis was taken to the external examiner, he read through and said, “Award this boy his PhD; I have no question for him”. He was told that there must be an oral examination, but he insisted that he had no questions for me. He had no questions because I wasn’t the one who solved that problem, it was the Word of God Himself who did.

If you allow the word of God to be your guide for every decision you make, you will never walk in darkness and He will guide you to the fulfilment of His purpose for your life John 8:12).

17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.

19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

OPEN HEAVEN 19 MARCH 2023 MESSAGE

Yesterday, we discussed how God’s word guides you to fulfil His purpose for your life. Today, We will discuss how His word guides you out of trouble.

But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. – (Matthew 10:19)

When I became General Overseer, I had a lot of problems because I became the leader over many people who had been in the Church since its inception in 1952 and I just joined in 1973. Some of these people were members of the Supreme Council in those days, so every meeting was hellish for me. They criticised everything.

One day, God said, “At the meeting today, you will say nothing until you hear from me”. This particular meeting was the toughest of them all. I kept quiet as instructed and then all of a sudden, God spoke. “Tell them, it is written, every idle word that a man shall speak, he will give account of it” (Matthew 12:36). That was the last time I had a problem with them.

The truth according to John 17:17 is the word of God. With the guidance of the word, you will no longer be confused because the Spirit of truth knows even the hidden truths about all things.

When I left a very promising career in academics to become the General Overseer of a small Church that couldn’t afford to pay the salaries of its staff, it did not make any sense at the time but the Spirit of truth told me that my tomorrow would be all right if I took that path. Today I am glad I did.

When the Redeemed Christian Church of God established its camp in the middle of a forest filled with snakes and highway robbers, it did not make sense, but that is where the Spirit of truth led us. Today, that same place has become a highly sought-after city to live and work in.

Let the word of God guide you in every decision you take. You can’t know better than the Spirit of truth; consult Him before you make any move and you will never regret it.

Past pains and hurts are capable of holding one down to a spot. Holding on to anger eats up the offended from inside-out such that the fellow becomes bitter, depressed and unpleasant, thereby adding to the damage and pain.

Sadly, young people are now prone to psychological or emotional trauma and increased blood pressure because they harbour so much weight in their hearts. It’s worse when the offender is dead or can neither repent nor apologize; shouldn’t they just surrender it all up to Jesus and let it go?

The fact that you’re alive already makes it inevitable for people to get on your nerves. They could be your friends, colleagues, parents, church members, et cetera. The same person who got me converted to Jesus offended me and almost made me backslide, but thank God I forgave Him. Then, God held me firmly and reassured me of His unfailing love. .

I decree and declare that when I am heartbroken, I don’t look to social media, movies, drugs, alcohol or friends to make me feel better; the real mender of broken hearts is the word of God and that is where I turn to. God’s word comes to me through a sermon, Bible study, friends, or directly from the Holy Spirit and it brings healing to me in Jesus name.

I decree and declare that I do not work for another person to harvest and I do not lose my profit in Jesus name.

I decree today that every yoke of poverty that has restricted my growth financially is broken in Jesus name!

Thank You Father for your son Pastor E. A Adeboye, and how You keep using him worldwide. Lord may Your grace be multiplied to him and may You cause an increase to every seed You have planted through him. Today’s Powerful Confession: I confess today that heavy burdens are being lifted off my chest. Stressful loads are taken away and taken out of the way. I am no longer a a victim of emotional pain, burdens and baggages. The Word of God has healed and delivered me from pain, grief, loss, and emotional stress. I experience freedom and victory. The yoke is broken. Hallelujah!

PRAYER POINTS

King of Glory I worship You today because You are the One that is greater than the greatest, older than the oldest, richer than the richest, and wiser than the wisest. You are trustworthy, reliable and dependable and I exalt You in the name of Jesus.

Thank You Lord for all of Your Words that have been spoken in my life. I know You are well able to fulfill them. Thank You Lord in Jesus name.

Father, forgive me for every way I have sinned against You in Jesus name.

Oh Lord, please break every yoke from off me, and will burst my bonds in sunder in the mighty name of Jesus!

Oh Lord, please heal everyone that is hurting and comfort them. You are the balm in Gilead. Bring peace and comfort to their hearts on Jesus name.

Father, we pray for everyone hurting from grief, loss and heartbreak. Please show up for them as a comforter. Let Your Word strengthen their hearts and comfort it in Jesus name.

Father, just as Pharaoh perished in the Red Sea (Exodus 14), Herod was eaten by worms (Acts 12:23), Nebuchadnezzar was debased and dethroned until he confessed that the Most High God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that He appointeth over it whomsoever He would (Daniel 5:21), let every principality contending with Your word in my life be disgraced in the mighty name of Jesus!

Father, I bring every challenge and seemingly impossible situation before Your Word this morning. Let it be settled in Jesus name.
Lord lead me to the part of Your word that has the keys to the answers that I seek in Jesus name.

Father, please revive and restore me by the power in Your word, in Jesus name.

Father, as the entire universe was made by the Word of God, let Your word create everything needed in my life in the name of Jesus!
