LESSON INTRODUCTION: Soul winning is the act of preaching to people with the aim that they are converted into the kingdom of God. Discipleship is the strategic process of training and building people up firmly in God’s word after they have been converted into the kingdom of God.

You are a child of God today because someone preached to you, prayed for you and to the glory of God today you are in the family of God. Therefore, it’s now your turn to bring someone into the kingdom of God. In Matthew 28:18-20 – the great Commission.

LESSON AIM: To let members understand that soul winning is a divine mandate for all believers.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, members should:
– Understand that soul winning and discipleship is very important.
– Have understanding of different aspects on Christian discipleship.
TEXT REVIEW: Matthew 28:18-20, Matt 9:37-38.
• All power is given to Christ Jesus both in heaven and on earth.
– All believers are called to the work of soul winning.
– Harvest is ripe for souls to be brought to knowledge of salvation.
LESSON OUTLINE ONE
POINTS TO CONSIDER
1. Disciples are the only one fit for the work of soul winning (Matt 28:16-20). Jesus Christ had other followers, but during the great commission He was talking to His Disciples not all other followers.
2. Soul winning is more in what you do than in what you say. Jesus Christ lived all the commandments He has given us to obey. It’s His life and we see Him as an example this is why we are following Him. Even as you preach to the dying world, your life must match what you are saying. I’d rather say be a Jesus to the sinners out there. Our life as children of God is also a way of soul winning.

3. When you go out for witnessing, preach Jesus (the gospel) alone and not a denomination. Preach about the salvation of God. Mark 16:15

4. Don’t get into arguments when witnessing. It’s not right as a child of God to get involved into a debate. 2 Tim. 2:16
5. Let the Holy Spirit work in them. When you witness, Commit their hearts into the hands of God and keep on praying for them. Matthew 21:22
ACTIVITY: Get one soul to God’s kingdom this week.
SUMMARY: He that wins soul is wise (Prov 11:30). Let us bring joy into the kingdom of God (Luke 15:7).
CONCLUSION: Jesus Christ commanded us to make disciples of all nations. The work of soul winning therefore is not just for only a group of people, but for all the children of God. We bring great joy to heaven when we win a soul for Christ.

1. Lord, build me up to be a disciple fit for soul winning.
2. Increase my desire for soul winning Lord Jesus.
3. Help me to be patient with those I witness to in the name of Jesus Christ.

4. Father, let every member of RCCG become an ardent soul winner.

FRIDAY: As you make heaven rejoice over souls, surely you will receive your reward.
SATURDAY: Your center should plan for neighborhood evangelism.

Let’s Declare in Jesus’ name!

I decree and declare that I am upheld by God’s right hand of righteousness till the end, as His promise is my firm foundation, in the mighty name of Jesus. (Isaiah 41:10)

I decree and declare that God’s mercy prevails over judgment in my life, and I am forgiven of all my sins, in the mighty name of Jesus. (Psalm 51:1-2)

INTRODUCTION: God’s desire is that His people will be clean outwardly and inwardly

adequate provision for their all-round cleansing (Heb.10:22). In Psalm 51:7 David prayed for God’s cleansing. We also have a crucial role to play in this matter. Therefore, we need to examine the issue of self-cleansing carefully.

LESSON OUTLINE 1: WHAT IS SELF- CLEANSING?
MEANING OF SELF-CLEANSING:
i. It is a conscious and decisive effort by a
person to purge himself or herself of all filthiness. 2 Cor.7:1.
ii. lt is self-determination to become whole
and acceptable to God through the help of the Holy Spirit.
iii. It is a thorough sanitation of the filth in one’s life as revealed by the Holy Spirit through the word of God. Isa.6:5.
İv. It is a renewal of one’s mind. Rom.12:2.
v. It is putting away all manner of evil deeds.
vi. It is decision, back up by the Holy Spirit not to allow impure thoughts and wickedness to have a place in our hearts. Jer.4:14.
vii. It is disallowing sin from having a place in one’s life. Rom.6:12-13.
viii. It is putting off the old man with his deeds. Eph.4:22; Col.3:9.
ix. It is putting on the new man in all righteousness after the image of Christ. Eph.4:24.
BENEFITS OF SELF-CLEANSING:
i. Self-cleansing makes believers honourable and useful vessels to God.2 Tim.2:21.
ii. lt promotes the hope of believers in eternal

life with Jesus because; those that will reign

with Him must be pure. 1John 3:3.
iii. Self-cleansing prepares us to be blameless before God. Ps.24:4-6; Heb.10:22.
iv. It propels/provokes answers to prayers. Ps.24:5.
CLASS ACTIVITY 1: The class should discuss those pollutants that can make a Christian filthy.
LESSON OUTLINE 2: HOW CAN A MAN CLEANSE HIMSELF?
A. We are cleansed through the shedding of the blood of Jesus. Heb.9:14;22.
B. But to cleanse ourselves, we must:
i. Obey the word of God completely. Ps.119:9.
ii. Put away all manner of sin and weight that can stain or contaminate our purity. Heb.12:1.
iii. Stay away from all things which have attributes of evil. 1Thess.5:22.
iv. Allow the word of God to wash and correct us even if it is painful. Eph.5:26; Ezek.36:25; Heb.10:22.
v. Not give room or occasion to the flesh to lure us into sin. Rom.8:13; Col.3:3-5, 8-9.
vi. Surrender to the Holy Spirit to take over our thoughts and deeds and help us totally. Jam.4:8.
CLASS ACTIVITY 2: The class should discuss the results of the personal efforts for self-cleansing without the word of God and the help of the Holy Spirit.
SUMMARY: Self-cleansing is a condition to be useful to God.
CONCLUSION: If you are indeed in Christ.and His Spirit is in you, self-cleansing will not be an uphill task.

INTRODUCTION: Scoffer, in Greek – ‘empaiktés,’ simply translates to a mocker. A scoffer mocks sin, Christ, twists God’s word for selfish gains, opposes the gospel, and the things of God. The Bible uses scornful, scorner and scoffer interchangeably which all means mocker. Believers are warned to be careful and be on guard.

iii. They question the second coming of the Lord Jesus pointing out the lapse of time and mock those who still wait and yearn for Jesus’ appearance (2 Pet.3:4).
iv. They follow ungodly desires and create divisions in the church (2Pet.3:3; Jude 18-19).
v. They have a form of godliness but deny its power (2 Tim.3:5).
vi. They present lofty-sounding ideas to lead people astray (2 Pet.2:1).
vii. They incite violent acts (Prov.29:8).
viii. They are proud people who make the judgment of God light (Isa.28:14-15).
CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Students should check themselves to see which of the traits stated above is in their lives and say what they will do to make things right.
2. THE DISPOSITION OF BELIEVERS
The proliferation of scoffers is one of the signs of the last days. (2 Pet.3:3). Hence, it is critically important that, believers:
i. Take seriously the commands to study and meditate on God’s word (Ps.1:1-2; Josh.1:8).
ii. Remain in Christ spotless and blameless (2 Pet.3:14; Eph.5:27).
iii. Continue to wait for the appearance of the Lord (Tit.2:13).
iv. Weigh every teaching/preaching with the word of God (Acts 17:11).
v. Know that God is never slack concerning His promises (2 Pet.3:9).
vi. Be established on their holy faith (Jude 20) and remain steadfast to the end (1Cor.16:13; 1Tim.6:12).
vii. Try all spirits (1Jn.4:1).
viii. Grow in grace (2Pet.3:18).

One of the condemnable attributes possessed by the children of Israel was their forgetfulness of God’s goodness.

Whenever they were faced with a challenge, they would turn on Moses and blame him for taking them out of Egypt where they had food to eat despite their captivity.
In fact, they almost made Moses lose his glorious destiny as a result of their “stiff-necked” acts and blame games.
Sometimes, when faced with a challenge, it is easy to forget the blessings from God in times past.

The use of derogatory words to qualify a fellow human being is a bane in the world today. Some parents consistently use these words on their children, teachers use it on their students, et cetera.

Unfortunately, this has led to depression and low self-esteem in many victims. When I was a teacher addressed every act of physical verbal and emotional bullying that came to my notice because, as a mother and educationist, I know that name-calling is not healthy for the psychological development of a child.

Many children who were raised with insults and were emotionally abused or violently brought up are now parents who have turned on their children, and the cycle continues.

However, I believe that the cycle can be broken by you if you let the Holy Spirit take hold of you from today. If you are truly born again, you can’t be given to name-calling and emotional/verbal abuse.

Actually, name-calling is an insult to God because you’re indirectly saying that He didn’t do a good job on that person. So, desist from such acts and ask for a change of heart, words, and actions from now on.
