MEMORISE: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2

READ: Ephesians 5:19
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

MESSAGE
Worldly music is not inspired by God; it doesn’ ‘t reverence God and all He stands for. Interestingly, worldly songs trend easily today; this is why I always encourage my children to make everything about Christ trend. When you are tempted to listen to a worldly song, remember that as a child of God, you are not of this world, and you should not follow the trends of this world (1 John 2:15).
Beloved, the devil was once a choirmaster. The Bible described him as a beautiful being whose body was decorated with different musical instruments. Thus, he uses songs to trap his victims. Why do you think it is difficult to forget the lyrics of songs that you did not even download on your gadgets? It is not just because they have nice rhythms; it is because the devil has penetrated the music industry. Sometimes, when you hear a particular secular song just once or twice, a part of the lyrics begins to live rent-free in your mind because the devil makes sure that the songs have good beats and interesting lyrics, Don’t be deceived: any song that does not glorify God, edify you, or move you to adore God is a worldly song

REFLECTION
What songs are on your playlist?

HYMN 12 – Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty
1. Holy, holy, holy!
Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning
Our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy!
Merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons,
Blessed Trinity!

2 Holy, holy, holy!
All the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns
Around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim,
Falling down before Thee,
Which went and art
And evermore shalt be.

3 Holy, holy, holy!
Though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful man
Thy glory may not see;
Only Thou art holy,
There is none beside Thee,
Perfect in pow’r, in love,
And purity.

4 Holy, holy, holy!
Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise
Thy name, in earth and sky and sea;
Holy, Holy, Holy!
Merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons,
Blessed Trinity!

MEMORISE: But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Romans 14:10

READ: Ezekiel 18:20
The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

MESSAGE
The ability to distinguish between right and wrong has been ingrained in the conscience of every fellow by God. Thus, God expects us to take responsibility for our actions (Galatians 6:5). For instance, in Genesis 3, when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, God did not listen to Adam when he put the blame on Eve, neither did He listen to Eve when she blamed the serpent; they were both judged accordingly for their actions.
Another example is that of King David. He committed adultery and tried to hide it by committing murder, but when God sent Prophet Nathan to confront him, he owned up to his sins; he didn’t try to put the blame on anyone else. Instead, he cried to God for mercy (Psalm 51:1-2).
Beloved, being accountable and owning up to any wrongs you have committed shows that you are responsible. When you do something wrong, take responsibility for it. Even when you know that you will be punished, ask for forgiveness and never repeat the offence. Responsibility and accountability are Biblical principles set by God, and you must live by them.

KEY POINT
Taking responsibility for are a child of God. your actions shows that you are a child of God

HYMN 15 – CONQUERORS AND OVERCOMES NOW ARE WE
1 Conquerors and overcomes now are we,
Thro’ the precious blood of Christ we’ve victory
If the Lord be for us, we can never fail,
Nothing ‘gainst His mighty pow’r can e’er prevail.

CHORUS
Conquerors are we, through the blood of Jesus,
God will give us victory, through the blood of Jesus
Thro’ the Lamb for sinners slain,
Yet who lives and reigns again,
More than conquerors are we,
More than conquerors are we.

2. In the name of Israel’s God we’ll onward press,
Overcoming sin and all unrighteousness;
Not to us, but unto Him the praise shall be,
For Salvation and for blood bought victory.

3 Unto him that overcometh shall be given,
Here to eat of hidden manna sent from heav’n,
Over yonder he the victors palm shall bear,
And a robe of white, and golden crown shall wear.

“A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”* Proverbs 17:17
The Bible text above does not rule out love from friends; in fact, it says that they love always.
However, some friends are rarely or never around to help when hardship comes. You cannot deny the truth in this text because it happens in the world we are living in today.
My dear child, you are expected to be concerned about your siblings because, unlike friends, you share blood ties.
The Bible further says in 1 John 4:21 that if you claim to love God, you must love your brother.
You cannot love God, whom you do not see physically, and hate your brother or sister with whom you share the same roof.
Before you can love God and other people, you must love the people you live with your parents and siblings.
It’s not enough to say that you love them; show it in your actions. You can pray for them, correct them without judging them, forgive them when they offend you, look out for them, give them moral support, let them know that you hear and see them, be their confidant and best friend, et cetera.
Beloved, friends will come and go, but your family will remain the same.
Do not shut your siblings out of your life; it is the love you show them that will determine how your relationship with them will look like over time.
Don’t be like Cain.

BIBLE PASSAGE: Philippians 3:12-14
[12]Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
[13]Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
[14]I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
OPENING PRAYER: Almighty Father, please help me to fulfil the purpose for which You created me in the name of Jesus.
MEMORY VERSE: Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. John 18:37.
INTRODUCTION: God does not waste resources. Hence, everything He created is for a purpose. The sun gives light and never ceases to shine (Psalms 136:7-9), the cloud gives rain in due season and trees provide food and shade accordingly (Leviticus 26:4). Other animals play their parts without hesitation. Amazingly, man struggles to understand and fulfil his purpose for living. The discovery, as well as fulfilment of divine purpose, is the focus of today’s lesson.
LESSON AIM: To study how to discover and fulfil purpose.
TEXT REVIEW: Philippians 3:12-14.
The teacher should identify five things which Apostle Paul did in the passage to fulfil the purpose for which he was called.
i. …………………………………………………………
ii. ……………………………………………………….
iii. ………………………………………………………
iv. ………………………………………………………
v. ………………………………………………………
1. DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE
2..LIVE TO FULFIL IT
1. DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE
Like Apostle Paul, once you become a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), you must begin to crave for the understanding of your purpose for living on earth (Philippians 3:12). That purpose has been predetermined by God before you were born (Jeremiah 1:5; Galatians 1:15). It is your duty to discover and fulfil it.
Here are some practical pointers to your purpose for living:
A. POTENTIAL
i. You need to identify your in-built ability, your talents, and God-given gifts (Ephesians 4:7).
ii. Find out the things you do with less stress e.g., singing, drawing, talking to a crowd, helping others, etc.
iii. The knowledge or skills you acquire in life should be to shape and sharpen your potential (Acts 7:22).
B. PASSION
i. What are those things you exceptionally have flare or zeal for, and do often?
ii. Build your vocation or career on such things.
iii. The things that get you excited, give you joy and satisfaction can lead you to the fulfilment of your purpose in life (Psalm 69:9; Colossians 4:12-13).
After you have identified your potential and the things you are passionate about, you need to pray for divine guidance, so that the world and the enemy will not hijack your purpose in life (Acts 9:1-2).
2. LIVE TO FULFIL IT
These seven things will help every child of God fulfil his/her purpose in life.
1. Ask God to reveal His plan for your life to you (Jeremiah 1:4-5). Then, draw a vision and mission statement (Proverbs 29:18; Habakkuk 2:2).
2. Set achievable goals and pursue them (Acts 20:24). Take a step at a time and do not be mediocre (Psalm 37:23).
3. Identify and relate with people of like passion: learn from their mistakes and build on their success (2 Kings 2:1-2, 14).
4. Submit yourself for mentoring and counselling: do not claim to know it all (Acts 18:24-26; Prov. 11:14).
5. Live as if you have just one more day on earth: do not procrastinate (Luke 9:61).
6. Focus your attention on God (Hebrews 12:2). Make sure all that you do is to His pleasing (Colossians 1:10).
7. Always return all the glory to God: do not ascribe anything to yourself (Isaiah 42:8).
CLASS ACTIVITY 2:.Mention the ways in which so many people live without fulfilling purpose.
CONCLUSION: So many people live and die without leaving any positive mark. Be different. You are not a nonentity.
QUESTIONS:
*.Discuss the practical pointers to the discovery of one’s purpose in life.
*.Mention the paths to the fulfilment of purpose in life.
EVALUATION:.How can you discover and fulfil the purpose for which you were created.
CLOSING PRAYER: Father, help me to fulfil my purpose in life in Jesus’ name.
ASSIGNMENT: Write five people in the Bible who gave up their profession to fulfill their destiny with scriptural reference each. (2×5=10 marks).

Will thou pass over me today?
Without my being blest?

BIBLE PASSAGE: ‭‭Philippians 3:12-14 NKJV‬‬
[12] Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. [13] Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, [14] I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

MEMORY VERSE: “Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” John 18:37 (NKJV).

INTRODUCTION: God does not waste resources. Hence, everything He created is for a purpose. The sun gives light and never ceases to shine (Psalm 136:7-9), the cloud gives rain in due season and trees provide food and shade accordingly (Leviticus 26:4). Other animals play their parts without hesitation. Amazingly, man struggles to understand and fulfil his purpose for living. The discovery, as well as fulfilment of divine purpose, is the focus of today’s lesson.

OUTLINES:
1..DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE
2. LIVE TO FULFIL IT

1. Potential. You need to identify your in-built ability, your talents, and God-given gifts (Ephesians 4:7). Find out the things you do with less stress e.g., singing, drawing, talking to a crowd, helping others, etc. The knowledge or skills you acquire in life should be to shape and sharpen your potential (Acts 7:22).
2. Passion. What are those things you exceptionally have flare or zeal for, and do often? Build your vocation or career on such things. The things that get you excited, give you joy and satisfaction can lead you to the fulfilment of your purpose in life (Psalm 69:9; Colossians 4:12-13)
3. Prayer.

Take a step at a time and do not be mediocre (Psalm 37:23)

CLASS ACTIVITY 2:.Student should share with the class the practical things they are doing to fulfil purpose.

CONCLUSION: So many people live and die without leaving any positive mark. Be different. You are not a nonentity.

[12]Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

[14]I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
