15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

OPEN HEAVEN 24 MARCH 2024 MESSAGE

In our memory verse for today, the Bible says, “I must do the work,” not “I may do the work.” It is neither an option nor a piece of advice.

Doing God’s work is compulsory for all His children; this simply means that you have no choice in the matter.

In 1 Corinthians 9:16, Apostle Paul said:
For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

When it comes to doing the work of God, you must not see yourself as a volunteer.

Apostle Paul said doing God’s work was a necessity, and he even went ahead to pronounce a curse on himself if he did not preach the gospel of Jesus.

Apostle Paul clearly did not see himself as a volunteer. God does not use people who see themselves as volunteers.

Once God chooses someone, the fellow has no choice but to do the work.

In John 15:16, God said you have not chosen Him, but He has chosen you.

The moment He chooses you, the moment you find yourself as a minister of God, you must do what He wants.

In Philippians 1:20, Paul said:
According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

Workers are not volunteers but soldiers that must do the bidding of the One who has called them.

2 Timothy 2:4 says:
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Whether we like it or not, this world is a war front. We are at war and so, we should not distract ourselves with mundane things.

We must be focused on obeying the commands of our Commandant promptly and completely.

We must do the work required of us by Him so that we will be victorious.

In Matthew 28:19, our Commandant gave a command that directs those of us who call ourselves His workers and ministers to go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

The assignment is very clear, and it is a direct order. There is no room for deliberation; act now!

OPEN HEAVEN 24 MARCH 2024 KEY POINTS

You MUST preach the gospel. It is not a piece of advice but a command.

OPEN HEAVEN 24 MARCH 2024 HYMN

RCCG HYMN 20: STAND UP! STAND UP FOR JESUS

1 Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
  Ye soldiers of the cross;
Lift high His royal banner,
  It must not suffer loss:
From vict’ry unto vict’ry
  His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished
  And Christ is Lord indeed.

2 Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
  The trumpet call obey;
Forth to the mighty conflict
  In this His glorious day.
Ye that are men, now serve Him
  Against unnumbered foes;
Let courage rise with danger.
  And strength to strength oppose.

3 Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
  Stand in His strength alone;
The arm of flesh will fail you;
  Ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the Gospel armor,
  And, watching unto prayer,
Where duty calls, or danger,
  Be never wanting there.

4 Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
  The strife will not be long:
This day the noise of battle,
  The next the victor’s song;
To him that overcometh
  A crown of life shall be;
He, with the King of glory,
  Shall reign eternally.

BIBLE PASSAGE: Matthew 5:13-16.
[13]“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
[14]“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
[15]Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
[16]Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Christ Fulfills the Law
MEMORY VERSE: “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.’’ Matthew 5:14 (NKJV).
INTRODUCTION: Naturally, light illuminates and sends darkness parking. As believers, Jesus is our light and the source of our uncompromising brightness. As a result, we are expected to shine forth in every sphere of life (Matthew 5:16). We are to establish the rule and reign of our Master in this world and take over territories as we shine as light. We shall examine how to shine and the hindrances to shining.
1. HOW TO SHINE FORTH
2. HINDRANCES TO SHINING FORTH
1.HOW TO SHINE FORTH
As the light of the world, it is expected that we show forth the glory of God in all areas of human endeavours: academics, business, marriage, politics, and more importantly in spiritual matters. Therefore, we must:
1. Be Distinguished: We must be eminent in everything we do by standing out in the midst of this crooked generation (Daniel 1:8).
2. Reflect The Light: As believers, we must be a reflection of Jesus – the Light. We must mirror Jesus in everything we do or say (1Peter 2:12).
3. Be A Natural Light Agent: We must operate in dominion and be an ambassador of peace (Ephesians 6:20; Genesis 1:28; Matthew 5:9).
4. Stand Firm: We must stand firm in the faith till the end of the age and continue to proclaim the lordship of Jesus anywhere we find ourselves. (Ephesians 6:13-18).
5. Register Your Presence: Light signifies God’s presence. As carriers of the light of Christ, we must be positive influencers in our generation. All our social media handles and communication must reflect the presence of God in our lives (Genesis 39:9; Daniel 3:16-18).
CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Students should mention at least one thing they are doing that could bring them to the limelight.
2. HINDRANCES TO SHINING FORTH
Despite God’s awesome plans for believers, there are certain factors that can hinder their full manifestations as the light of the world. These factors include: Fear (Numbers 13:31); Laziness and Procrastination (Proverbs 22:13); Faithlessness (Hebrews 11:6); Unfaithfulness (2Kings 5:22-27); Lack of focus (Matthew 6:22); Lack of intentionality (Luke 9:62).
CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Students should mention one habit they have identified that could hinder their shining.
CONCLUSION: Every believer is light that must shine very bright for the illumination of the whole world. Believers must not compromise their faith in the face of darkness but rather expose them (Ephesians 5:11).
QUESTIONS:
* How can believers shine forth?
* Mention three things that can hinder believers from shining forth

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 24 MARCH 2024 MEMORISE: And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers, 2 Chronicles 33:12
OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 24 MARCH 2024 READ: 2 Chronicles 33:12-13
[12]And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,

[13]And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God.

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 24 MARCH 2024 MESSAGE

King Manasseh ruled Judah for 55 years. He was one of the most wicked and idolatrous of all the kings of Judah, who later repented.
As seen in the Bible reading of today, despite the many evils committed by King Manasseh during his reign, including sacrificing his own children to false gods, he still had a repentant spirit.
This was made possible because he had a godly grandfather, King Hezekiah, who had a strong faith in God. It was this godly influence that eventually led Manasseh to repent of his sins.
My dear child, no matter how far you may have strayed from God, it is never too late to repent and turn back to Him.
What is the gravity of your wrongs? I am sure it cannot be compared to the sins of King Manasseh, and God still forgave him.
What then are you waiting for? The prodigal son realized his errors, returned home, and ran into the waiting arms of his father.
God’s mercy is always available to those who genuinely cry to Him. He is patiently waiting for you; run to Him today.
OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 24 MARCH 2024 KEY POINT:
Tomorrow might be too late; repent of all your sins today and be saved.
According to the Bible who was the man after God’s heart?
OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 24 MARCH 2024 HYMN 3 – DRAW ME NEARER
1 I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
2 Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.
3 Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend!

4 There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee

BIBLE PASSAGE: Genesis 26:1-6; 11-14.
[1]And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.
[2]And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:
[3]Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;
[4]And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
[5]Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
[6]And Isaac dwelt in Gerar:
[11]And Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.
[12]Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.
[13]And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:
[14]For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.
MEMORY VERSE: And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land. Genesis 26:22.
INTRODUCTION: Generally, a breakthrough is major progress such as great innovation or discovery that overcomes significant obstacles. In other words, it is overcoming something challenging and having an achievement. A breakthrough usually gives a miraculous result. Breakthrough is often associated with prosperity although it means different things to different people. We can, therefore, talk about physical (financial, material, scientific, academic, etc.) and spiritual breakthroughs.

1. INSTANCES OF PHYSICAL BREAKTHROUGHS
2. FROM NEGATIVE TO POSITIVE
1. INSTANCES OF PHYSICAL BREAKTHROUGHS
Physical breakthroughs include but are not limited to wealth (financial and material), science, warfare (2Samuel 23:15-16), and academics. There was an instance of four lepers who got an unimaginable and amazing breakthrough during famine and war (2Kings 6:25; 7:8). Abraham laid the foundation of breakthroughs for generations after him (Genesis 18:18). Isaac got a breakthrough in Gerar; he became greater than Abraham his father and a whole nation envied him (Genesis 26:13-14). Jacob had an extraordinary ‘scientific’ breakthrough and increased exceedingly (Genesis 30:37-43). Through unprecedented sacrifices, Solomon had a ‘multidimensional’ breakthrough (2Chronicles 1:6-12).
CLASS ACTIVITY 1: From the above examples, does sowing/giving facilitate breakthroughs?
2. FROM NEGATIVE TO POSITIVE
Quite often, a breakthrough connotes a change in trend. One can experience a breakthrough from negative/unfavourable circumstances to positive/favourable conditions. Let us examine some biblical instances:
1. Obededom: from apparent nothingness to unimaginable blessings (1Chronicles 13:13-14).

2. Jabez: from sorrow to success (1Chronicles 4:9-10).
3. Peter: from emptiness to abundance (Luke 5:4-7).
4. The Widow of Zarephath: from hopelessness to miraculous supplies (1Kings 17:10-16).
5. Naaman: from affliction to wholeness (2Kings 5:1-14).
6. Elizabeth: from barrenness to fruitfulness (Luke 1:5-7, 57).
7. The Widow of the prophet: from indebtedness to wealth (2Kings 4:1-7).
CLASS ACTIVITY 2: What did these people do to experience breakthroughs?
CONCLUSION: There cannot be a physical breakthrough without divine intervention. Therefore, if you are expecting a breakthrough in any facet of your life, you must turn to God for help (Deuteronomy 8:18).
QUESTIONS:
* Describe breakthroughs with biblical instances.
* Discuss the trends of breakthroughs with examples.
ASSIGNMENT: Find out ten (10) illustrations of a breakthrough in the Bible with Bible passages. (1×10=10 marks).

[14]Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

OPEN HEAVEN 23 MARCH 2024 SATURDAY

OPEN HEAVEN 23 MARCH 2024 MEMORIZE: Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: Galatians 3:13

OPEN HEAVEN 23 MARCH 2024 BIBLE READING Genesis 49:5-7, Numbers 3:44-45 Genesis 49:5-7:

Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations.

O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.

Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.

Numbers 3:44-45:

44 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

45 Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am the Lord.

Daily Confession: Today, I boldly confess that every curse upon my life is broken and cancelled by the authority of Jesus Christ, and I walk in the fullness of His blessings and protection, in the most powerful name of Jesus, Son of the Living God. Somebody Shout Hallelujah

OPEN HEAVEN 23 MARCH 2024 MESSAGE

There are many people walking around with curses that they do not have to carry.

There are families suffering under curses that they no longer have to suffer.

Beloved, if you are in such a situation, I bring good news to you. Curses placed by men can be cancelled, and I pray for you today that all curses placed on you are cancelled, in Jesus’ name.

In Joshua 6:26, Joshua placed a curse on Jericho and from that moment on, the people of Jericho suffered under the curse.

Many prophets came and went, but the people of Jericho continued to suffer in silence under the curse.

At last, when Elijah was taken away, they realised that if they didn’t do something about the curse, their land would remain barren, and death would be rampant amongst them forever.

So, they called on Elisha to help them.

In 2 Kings 2:19-22, Elisha said, “Go and bring me salt in a new cruse.” They brought it to him, and he took it in his hands, went to the source of their river, poured in the salt and said, “Thus saith the Lord, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.”

From that day, the curse was cancelled. 10 Powerful Prayers To Break Curses of Premature Death

Any curse on your life or family can also be cancelled today if you refuse to continue living under it.

All you need is a person with a higher power and anointing to break the curse.

If the curse was placed by your biological father, you can go to your spiritual father, and he can cancel the curse. This is because the spiritual controls the physical.

Also, if it was placed by a man or woman of God, go to a minister of God who has a greater anointing than that fellow, and he or she can cancel the curse.

If the curse was placed by a witch or wizard, an anointed man or woman of God can cancel it because the anointing breaks yokes (Isaiah 10:27).

Beloved, you must, however, also note that beyond going to any man or woman of God to cancel curses on your behalf, you must seek God’s anointing as well.

You must pray, fast, study your Bible, and fellowship with God so much that you begin to carry His glory and power. When you do this, no curse can rest on you.

If God is with you like He was with the Israelites in Numbers 24, you will be blessed, and no curse will be able to rest on you. 10 Powerful Prayers To Break Curses of Premature Death

Who fixed this floating ball;
Now hail the strength of Israel’s might,

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 23 MARCH 2024 MEMORISE: They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. Psalm 125:1

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 23 MARCH 2024 READ: 2 Chronicles 13:4-12

[4]And Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in mount Ephraim, and said, Hear me, thou Jeroboam, and all Israel;
[5]Ought ye not to know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?
[6]Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, is risen up, and hath rebelled against his lord.
[7]And there are gathered unto him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.
[8]And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David; and ye be a great multitude, and there are with you golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods.
[9]Have ye not cast out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods.
[10]But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the LORD, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business:
[11]And they burn unto the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the LORD our God; but ye have forsaken him.
[12]And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 23 MARCH 2024 MESSAGE

King Abijah, also known as Abijam, was the son of Rehoboam and grandson of Solomon. He ruled the Kingdom of Judah for three years.
He was not known for his righteousness or obedience to God but rather for his military prowess.
In the Bible reading for today, we read about the battle between King Abijah and Jeroboam, King of Israel.
Despite being outnumbered, King Abijah trusted God and was victorious.
His reliance on God and trust in His promises, even in the face of overwhelming odds, is an example worthy of emulation.
In a world full of uncertainty and chaos, you must look to God and trust in His sovereignty over all things.
No matter what challenges you face at home, school, church, or society, have faith in the promises God has made to you.
Beloved, those who trust in the Lord will never be ashamed. Therefore, I implore you to always trust in God and never give in to the pressures of life.

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 23 MARCH 2024 PRAYER POINT

Father, help me to trust you even in the midst of uncertainties, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 18 – TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS
1 ‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord.”
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!
2 O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
Just in simple faith to plunge me
‘Neath the healing, cleansing flood!
3 Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.
4 I’m so glad Learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Saviour, Friend,
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
