OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TEENS 30 JUNE 2019

THEME: THE FEAR OF GOD

MEMORISE: Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. Proverbs 3:7

Read: Psalms 139:4-10

4. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.

5. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

6. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

7. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

8. If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

9. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

10. Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

MESSAGE

Growing up, I discovered that the fear of God will always keep you from sin. But nowadays, the situation is different especially with teenagers.

When I was in secondary school, the first thing we did in the morning was devotion where we were taught, “Fear God, He sees you, He knows what you are doing, be careful.” Open Heaven 1 July 2019

These things were mentioned every morning. Whenever the ‘big boys’ of the school initiated rebellious acts, those of us that were very attentive with what we’d been taught in devotion would say, “Hey, be careful, God is hearing, He is here with us, I have no part in it. God you see me, I am leaving”. Open Heaven 30 June 2019

They all ended up rusticated or as drop outs while those of us who feared God graduated in flying colors.
My elder brother was a very muscular young man.

I thought he was the strongest person around. The day I saw my dad beat him and he was crying like a baby, I feared my father and determined never to do anything that will warrant him beating me.

If you are wise, you will fear the Consuming Fire and depart from evil, because if He decides to punish you, it is only by His mercy that you can survive.

PRAYER POINT:
Ask God to plant His fear in your heart.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Job 19-20, Acts 9:23-43

Hymn 2
Hymn 2
1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:
Trust and obey, for theres no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4. But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.

OPEN HEAVEN 1 JULY 2019 MONDAY – BACKSLIDING: A NEGATIVE REBIRTH

OPEN HEAVEN 1 JULY 2019 MEMORISE:
The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself. Proverbs 14:14.

OPEN HEAVEN 1 JULY 2019 READ: DANIEL 4:28-33 (KJV)

28. All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.

29. At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.

30. The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?

31. While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.

32. And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field; they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

33. The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar; and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.

The spiritual regeneration experience can either be positive or negative.

The type that Jesus recommended to Nicodemus in John 3:3-5 is the positive kind. Describing it, the Holy Spirit says in (2 Corinthians 5:17):

“Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature: old things are passed away behold all things are become new.”

However, there is also the negative kind of rebirth. When a person filled with good works turns around and begins to behave badly, such a person is manifesting the symptoms of negative rebirth.

The bible refers to this as ‘backsliding’. According to today’s memory verse, a backslider begins to behave abnormal, exalting personal satisfaction against God’s will.

King Nebuchadnezzar’s transformation in today’s bible reading demonstrate what negative rebirth is all about.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 1 JULY 2019 MONDAY

In the twinkling of an eye, he changed from a royal majesty to an animal to the extent that he began to graze like cattle! When a child of God suddenly develop an appetite for alcohol, cigarettes, pornography or extramarital affair, he or she has experience a negative rebirth.

Don’t be surprise therefore when you see holiness preachers of yesteryears begin to say that holiness is an illusion; they have undergone a negative rebirth.

Are you in a backsliding state? My prayer for you is that Almighty God will restore you, and every satanic appetite for sin shall vanish from your life today in Jesus’ Name.

Why did Nebuchadnezzar experience a negative rebirth? The answer lies in Daniel 4:27 – he refused to take heed when God’s prophet warned him to turn from his wicked ways.

It is amazing that in spite of the miracles Nebuchadnezzar experienced, including seeing the Son of God walking around in the fiery furnace, he continued to be arrogant before the God of heaven (Daniel 3:22-25). .

In like manner, is it not surprising that in spite of the reality of HIV/AIDS, some people still practice prostitution and still have people patronizing them? It is very disheartening when one sees Christians or ministers going back to there vomit and engaging in sexual immorality and fraudulent practices.

Are you one of those people, God is saying to you today in Ezekiel 18:31:

“Cast away from all your transgression whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die O house of Israel?”

It is time for you to repent so that times of refreshing can be poured on your life (Acts 3:19).

Hi Beloved, we hope to see you here tomorrow. Make a conscious effort to give God your 5 minutes of your time daily, going through this devotional every morning. Watch your growth before the 31st of July 2019.

There are daily prayer points generated from everyday’s devotional topic and daily declarations for the day. Start working on your spiritual life, God is bless you richly.

Accept Jesus As Your Personal Lord And Savior With This Simple Prayer

OPEN HEAVEN 1 JULY 2019 ACTION POINT:
Examine your life today and see where you need positive rebirth through genuine repentance. If the Lord is speaking to you on this matter, go ahead and repent without further delay.

OPEN HEAVEN 1 JULY 2019 HYMNAL:
HYMN 9 – IN CHRIST ALONE

1. In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song,
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

2. In Christ alone! Who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on the cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live.

3. There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

4. No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.

OPEN HEAVEN 1 JULY 2019 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: DEUTERONOMY 7-8, EZEKIEL 8:7-18

Deuteronomy 7-8 King James Version (KJV)

7 When the Lord thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;

2 And when the Lord thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:

3 Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

4 For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the Lord be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.

5 But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.

6 For thou art an holy people unto the Lordthy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

7 The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:

8 But because the Lord loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the Lordbrought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

9 Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

10 And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.

11 Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.

12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the Lord thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:

13 And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

14 Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.

15 And the Lord will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.

16 And thou shalt consume all the people which the Lord thy God shall deliver thee; thine eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that will be a snare unto thee.

17 If thou shalt say in thine heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?

18 Thou shalt not be afraid of them: but shalt well remember what the Lord thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;

19 The great temptations which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the Lord thy God brought thee out: so shall the Lord thy God do unto all the people of whom thou art afraid.

20 Moreover the Lord thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from thee, be destroyed.

21 Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the Lord thy God is among you, a mighty God and terrible.

22 And the Lord thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.

23 But the Lord thy God shall deliver them unto thee, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed.

24 And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them.

25 The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therin: for it is an abomination to the Lord thy God.

26 Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.

8 All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers.

2 And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.

4 Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.

5 Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.

6 Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

7 For the Lord thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills;

8 A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey;

9 A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.

10 When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.

11 Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:

12 Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;

13 And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;

14 Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

15 Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;

16 Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;

17 And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.

18 But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

19 And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the Lord thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.

20 As the nations which the Lord destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the Lord your God.

Ezekiel 8:7-18 King James Version (KJV)

7 And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.

8 Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.

9 And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.

10 So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.

11 And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.

12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the Lord seeth us not; the Lord hath forsaken the earth.

13 He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.

14 Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Lord’s house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.

15 Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.

16 And he brought me into the inner court of the Lord’s house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the Lord, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

17 Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.

18 Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.

MEMORISE: So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalms 90:12

Read: Psalms 90:12-15

12. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

13. Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.

14. O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

15. Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.

MESSAGE:

It is very important that we understand the concept of time. We should have it at the back of our minds that just like we came to the earth, we will leave some day. This is why you need to use your time well. What you spend your time on will determine where you find yourself later in life. Prayer Points For Open Heavens 29 June 2019

Asides achieving your earthy goals, you must always make sure that you are time conscious when it comes to the things of God. Every time you achieve a part of the heavenly goals or purpose that God has assigned for you, you are being applauded in Heaven.

When you are the teacher of a Sunday School class and you go there on time to pray for your students coming to fellowship with you, God is pleased with you. When you are where you should be, doing what God wants you to do per time, it becomes hard for the enemy to get you or attack you.

I pray you begin to use your time wisely in Jesus’ name.

Open Heavens 30 June 2019 Sunday.

PRAYER POINT:
O Lord, help me to always be time conscious.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Job 16-18, Acts 9:1-22

Hymn 6
1. Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home:

2. Under the shadow of your throne
Your saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is your arm alone,
And our defense is sure

3. Before the hills in order stood
Or earth received its frame,
From everlasting you are God,
To endless years the same.

4. A thousand ages in your sight
Are like an evening gone
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.

5. Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
Soon bears us all away;
We fly forgotten, as a dream
Does at the opening day.

6. Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Still be our guard while troubles last,
And our eternal home!

Will thou pass over me today?
Without my being blest?

MEMORY VERSE: “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”. James 5:16b.

BIBLE PASSAGE:

Philippians 4:4-7
4. Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
5. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: According to the scriptures, the power if prayer is simply the power of God who hears and answers prayers. In order to pray effectively, we need to understand the nitty-gritty of prayer. This is spelt out in the teaching of the Lord Jesus on prayer and by His practical life of prayer. Luke 18:1-8.

Read – Open Heaven 30 June 2019 Sunday

2 LESSON OUTLINES
LESSON OUTLINE 1: DEFINITION AND REASONS FOR PRAYER

Prayer, simply put, is the soul of the man talking to God. It is worship addressed to God the Father, in the name of God the Son, through the power of the Holy Spirit. (John 14:13; Romans 8:26-27).

Read – Rccg Sunday School Teacher’s Manual 30th Of June 2019

Prayer should consist of the following:

1. Adoration i.e. praise and worship for who/what God is. (Psalm 95:6).

2. Thanksgiving for anything and everything that God has done. (Phil. 4:6).

3. Confession and repentance for every known sin. (Psalm 32:5).

4. Supplication i.e. intercessions, petitions, request and desires. (1 Tim. 2:1).
We pray for a variety of reasons. God commands us to pray (Luke 18:1; 1 Thess.
5:17).

Prayer is a way of serving God and obeying Him (Luke 2:36-38). God intends prayer to be the means if in training His solutions in a number of situations. We pray in preparation for major decisions (Luke 6:12-13).

We also pray to overcome demonic barriers (Matt. 17:14-21); to gather workers for spiritual harvest (Luke 10:2); to gain strength to overcome temptations (Matt. 26:41) and to obtain the means of strengthening others spiritually (Eph. 6:18-19).

LESSON OUTLINE 2: WHERE AND WHEN CAN WE PRAY?

We can pray everywhere (1 Tim. 2:8), In the closet (Matt. 6:6), or in the church (Luke 18:10). Private prayer may be made in the secret place.

Family prayer will involve a large group and may be made in the sitting room while public prayer may be made before the congregation.

We can pray in the morning (Psalms 5:3), at noon and in the evening (Psalm 55:17), day and night (Psalm 88:1), daily (Psalm 86:3), and always (Luke 18:1). It is not only when you are on your knees with your eyes closed that you can pray.

Read – Open Heaven 29 June 2019 Saturday

You can pray as you drive to work, while at work or while resting. Singing praises to God is also a form of prayer. Pray without ceasing (1 Thess. 5:17).

CONCLUSION: Jesus prayed and His followers are expected to pray (Luke 6:12). Let us, therefore, act now and present all our petitions to God in the name of Jesus Christ. It is certain that He will answer according to His perfect will for us.

QUESTIONS:
1. What is prayer and why should we pray?
2. When can we pray as believers?

OPEN HEAVEN 30 JUNE 2019 SUNDAY – DON’T BE A DEAD SACRIFICE

OPEN HEAVEN 30 JUNE 2019 MEMORISE:
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service. – Romans 12:1

OPEN HEAVEN 30 JUNE 2019 READ: Judges 16:28-31 (KJV)

28. And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.

29. And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.

30. And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.

31. Then his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the buryingplace of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years.

OPEN HEAVEN 30 JUNE 2019 SUNDAY MESSAGE WITH PRAYER POINTS, HYMN, DAILY DECLARATIONS AND BIBLE READING

Sacrifice is the act of surrendering a prized possession as an offering to God.

In reality, it is the death or loss of the object that makes it a sacrifice.

In this light, the use of the term “living sacrifice” in today’s memory verse seems like a contradiction, since an object of sacrifice should not remain alive.

However, the term “living sacrifice” is used in that verse with specific focus on our living bodies being presented as holy and accepted unto God.

To this effect, (1 Corinthians 6:19) says:

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”

This verse says that our body is God’s temple. A temple is a holy place or a sacred building which has been set aside as a place of worship or consecrated as the house of God.

In the Old Testament, the tabernacle in the desert, the sanctuaries at Bethel and Shiloh, and the temple at Jerusalem were all temples of God in different forms.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 30 JUNE 2019 SUNDAY DAILY DEVOTIONALS

However, under the new covenant, the notion of God dwelling within us is fundamental to our faith. Our Lord clearly says in John 14:23:

“…if a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”

For anyone who belongs to Christ indeed, God is saying that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

You therefore need to handle it with all the care, holiness and sacredness it deserves, if it is to be acceptable to God as a dwelling place.

When I was a university lecturer some years ago, there was a young lady whose prayer was always “Lord use me for your glory.”

Shunning interest in anything else, this was the only prayer consistent on her list. One day, she needed to use the toilet because she was seriously pressed, but as she opened the toilet one by one she discovered they were all messed up.

As she left in annoyance, she heard God saying “I thought you wanted to use the toilet, what happened?” she responded that the toilet were all dirty.

To her shock, she heard the Lord saying the reason he has not used her, despite her numerous prayer was because she was dirty!

Therefore, for anyone to be used of God as a living sacrifice, he or she must be clean in and out, and thoroughly furnished unto good works.

God expect us to live in holiness and righteousness, while handling our bodies in sanctification and honour (1 Thessalonians 4:4).

OPEN HEAVEN 30 JUNE 2019 PRAYER POINT:
Father, please help me to live the rest of my life as a living sacrifice to You, in Jesus’ Name.

OPEN HEAVEN 30 JUNE 2019 HYMNAL:
HYMN 4 – TAKE MY LIFE, AND LET IT BE

1. Take my life, and let it be
Consecrated, Lord to Thee;
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

2. Take my hands, and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love;
Take my feet, and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

3. Take my voice and let me sing
Always, only, for my King;
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee.

4. Take my silver and my gold;
Not a mite would I withhold;
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as Thou shalt choose.

5. Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall be no longer mine:
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne.

6. Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store;
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee.

OPEN HEAVEN 30 JUNE 2019 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: DEUTERONOMY 5-6, EZEKIEL 7:23-8:6

1 And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and keep, and do them.

2 The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.

3 The Lord made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.

4 The Lord talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,

5 (I stood between the Lord and you at that time, to shew you the word of the Lord: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying,

6 I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me.

8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:

9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,

10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

11 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lordthy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

12 Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee.

13 Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:

14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.

15 And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

16 Honour thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

17 Thou shalt not kill.

18 Neither shalt thou commit adultery.

19 Neither shalt thou steal.

20 Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.

21 Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour’s wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour’s house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

22 These words the Lord spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.

23 And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;

24 And ye said, Behold, the Lord our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.

25 Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any more, then we shall die.

26 For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?

27 Go thou near, and hear all that the Lord our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the Lord our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear it, and do it.

28 And the Lord heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the Lordsaid unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.

29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

30 Go say to them, Get you into your tents again.

31 But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.

32 Ye shall observe to do therefore as the Lord your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

33 Ye shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.

Chapter 6

1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lordyour God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:

2 That thou mightest fear the Lord thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:

5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

10 And it shall be, when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,

11 And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;

12 Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

13 Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

14 Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;

15 (For the Lord thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

16 Ye shall not tempt the Lord your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

17 Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.

18 And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the Lord: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the Lordsware unto thy fathers.

19 To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the Lord hath spoken.

20 And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord our God hath commanded you?

21 Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh’s bondmen in Egypt; and the Lordbrought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:

22 And the Lord shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:

23 And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.

24 And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.

OPEN HEAVEN 29 JUNE 2019 SATURDAY – WHO IS YOUR ALLY?

OPEN HEAVEN 29 JUNE 2019 MEMORISE:

But the Comforter who is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all thing to you your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. – John 14:26

OPEN HEAVEN 29 JUNE 2019 READ: John 14:25-31 (KJV)

25. These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

27. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

28. Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father; for my Father is greater than I.

29. And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

30. Hereafter I will not talk much with you; for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

31. But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

An ally is an entity that comes to the aid of another with superior ability in one area or the other, helping it to overcome, defeat or escape the oppression of an aggressor or dominant circumstances.

One usually seek an ally when there is an indications that he or she may not be able to handle a situation alone.

For example, when a nation discovers that it cannot overcome another nation in battle, such a nation may form an alliance with other nations which are also in enmity with the nation confronting it in battle.

An example of this is alliance of Moab, Ammon and Mount Seir which rose up against the Israelite (2 Chronicles 20).

In spite of this alliance, the three nations were defeated by the children of Israel because they have the Greatest Ally fighting on their behalf.

When Paul and Barnabas took the gospel to Paphos, they were also confronted by Elymas the sorcerer (Act 13:6-11). But if not for the Greatest Ally, this sorcerer would have frustrated the effort to win an important personality to Christ.

With His help, Paul pronounced judgment upon the spirit of sorcery at war with them and the result speaks for itself in Act 13:12.

“Then the deputy when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord”

One important lesson to learn from this story is that witnessing for Christ without the backing of the Holy Spirit may not be successful.

OPEN HEAVEN 29 JUNE 2019 SATURDAY

The Lord Himself confirms the the Holy Spirit is the perfect Ally of the church in the task of enforcing and expanding the kingdom of God (Act 1:8). I call Him my Senior Partner and indeed He is more than that in the real sense of it.

Beloved, ensure that you also have the Holy Spirit as your Ally. However, this is only possible if Jesus Christ is not only your savior but also your Lord. Read – Open Heaven 28 June 2019

Romans 8:31 declared that if we have God as our Ally, victory is guaranteed, regardless of how hopeless the situation at hand may seem. (2 Kings 6:16) echoes a similar truth.

Prophet Elisha woke up one morning and discovered that they were surrounded by enemy soldiers with horses and chariots. Nevertheless, the prophet calmed his terrified servant down with this word in (2 Kings 6:16):

“…fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”

I therefore declare that in the name that is above every other name, the Greatest Ally will rise on your behalf today, and the enemies that have been keeping vigil over your life will suddenly become outnumbered by the host of heaven, in Jesus’ Name.

Indeed, one with God is truly a MAJORITY!

And they preach’d the word in pow’r
Listening multitudes awakened
Turn’d to God that very hour

O Lord send Thy pow’r just now
And baptize every one

OPEN HEAVEN 29 JUNE 2019 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: DEUTERONOMY 4, EZEKIEL 7:5-22

Deuteronomy 4 King James Version (KJV)

4 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers giveth you.

2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

3 Your eyes have seen what the Lord did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the Lord thy God hath destroyed them from among you.

4 But ye that did cleave unto the Lord your God are alive every one of you this day.

5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the Lord my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.

6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

7 For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon him for?

8 And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

9 Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons;

10 Specially the day that thou stoodest before the Lord thy God in Horeb, when the Lordsaid unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

11 And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.

12 And the Lord spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.

13 And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

14 And the Lord commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.

15 Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the Lord spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:

16 Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

17 The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,

18 The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:

19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the Lord thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

20 But the Lord hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.

21 Furthermore the Lord was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance:

22 But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess that good land.

23 Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the Lord thy God hath forbidden thee.

24 For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

25 When thou shalt beget children, and children’s children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the Lord thy God, to provoke him to anger:

26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

27 And the Lord shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the Lord shall lead you.

28 And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lordthy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

31 (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

32 For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?

33 Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?

34 Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

35 Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the Lord he is God; there is none else beside him.

36 Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.

37 And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt;

38 To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.

39 Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

40 Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever.

41 Then Moses severed three cities on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;

42 That the slayer might flee thither, which should kill his neighbour unawares, and hated him not in times past; and that fleeing unto one of these cities he might live:

43 Namely, Bezer in the wilderness, in the plain country, of the Reubenites; and Ramoth in Gilead, of the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan, of the Manassites.

44 And this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel:

45 These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Moses spake unto the children of Israel, after they came forth out of Egypt.

46 On this side Jordan, in the valley over against Bethpeor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel smote, after they were come forth out of Egypt:

47 And they possessed his land, and the land of Og king of Bashan, two kings of the Amorites, which were on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;

48 From Aroer, which is by the bank of the river Arnon, even unto mount Sion, which is Hermon,

49 And all the plain on this side Jordan eastward, even unto the sea of the plain, under the springs of Pisgah.

5 Thus saith the Lord God; An evil, an only evil, behold, is come.

6 An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come.

7 The morning is come unto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding again of the mountains.

8 Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations.

9 And mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will recompense thee according to thy ways and thine abominations that are in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am the Lord that smiteth.

10 Behold the day, behold, it is come: the morning is gone forth; the rod hath blossomed, pride hath budded.

11 Violence is risen up into a rod of wickedness: none of them shall remain, nor of their multitude, nor of any of their’s: neither shall there be wailing for them.

12 The time is come, the day draweth near: let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn: for wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.

13 For the seller shall not return to that which is sold, although they were yet alive: for the vision is touching the whole multitude thereof, which shall not return; neither shall any strengthen himself in the iniquity of his life.

14 They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goeth to the battle: for my wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.

15 The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field shall die with the sword; and he that is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.

16 But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one for his iniquity.

17 All hands shall be feeble, and all knees shall be weak as water.

18 They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads.

19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

20 As for the beauty of his ornament, he set it in majesty: but they made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things therein: therefore have I set it far from them.

21 And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it.

22 My face will I turn also from them, and they shall pollute my secret place: for the robbers shall enter into it, and defile it.

TEXT REVIEW : PHILIPPIANS 4:4-7
i. One thing a believer cannot be careless about is prayer. (Phil. 4:6). Reasons for this development is to enjoy peace that is not quantifiable. V.7.
ii. “Everything” means “individuals” that sum up to “total”
iii. Everything you do or intend to do requires prayers. V.6.
iv. Prayer could comprise supplication, petition and thanksgiving.
v. Prayer and rejoicing go together. Those who pray end up rejoicing because the Lord is always at hand to give answers to their petitions. V.5.
vi. Prayer does not agree with worry. If you want to worry, don’t pray. The Apostles admonished believers to be careful for nothing i.e. to lay off our cares and worries on Him who cares for us, the Lord Jesus. Phil. 4:6; 1 Peter 5:7.
vii. The heart that is free from the burden of worry will definitely experience peace beyond description. Such heart cannot bow down in pain or tension (Phil. 4:7). Such heart and mind will rejoice t the slightest opportunity (Phil. 4:4). Therefore, the secret to free your heart from sorrow, pain and heavy load consists in praying. The same secret answers for why true believers rejoice in the Lord always. Phil. 4:4.
