MESSAGE:

It is very expensive to love God, especially when you really understand what it means to love Him. In John 14:15, Jesus said;

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Ordinarily, there is no big deal in doing this, until you realise that one of His commandments is to turn the other cheek to the one who slaps you. This is hard. It is hard to have the capacity and resources to carry out revenge but refrain from doing so because of your faith in Christ. Also Read – Open Heavens Prayer Points 6th June 2019

When some Christians find themselves in such situations, they weep because they know what they are capable of, but they have to turn the other cheek. Also, John 13:34 says we should love one another as Christ has loved us.

This is a difficult task because among those we are told to love are ‘unlovable’ people. How do you love someone who is constantly doing everything to provoke you and cause your downfall? Prayer Point:
Lord, no matter how hard it is, grant me the grace to obey You without complaints or excuses.

MESSAGE

In 2 Kings 2:14, Elisha smote River Jordan and asked for that God of Elijah. This is indicative of the fact that even though his master had left the scene, Hus master’s God was still very much around.

On the other hand, that call was another way of saying: “Thou God of my daddy, I need you now.” For you to call on the God of your spiritual father, it is expected that your spiritual father must evidently have a link with God like Elisha and Elijah’s case. Also Read – Open Heaven 5 June 2019

You have to be careful who you call “Father in the Lord.” Many have been led astray because of the heresies preached by their spiritual fathers, and it will only take the grace of God to redeem them. Some people’s blessings have been hindered and prayers unanswered because of who their spiritual father is.

Don’t just put your life under anyone; prayerfully check for their fruits. The Bible says it is by their fruits we will know them. Don’t be deceived by show of miracles; the magicians of Pharaoh Aldo turned their rods to snakes.

Fruits imply character; check for genuine Christ like character. Check for the doctrines that fellow believes, check for how he treats people, check how he relates with God and compare everything you observe with the word of God.

KEY POINT:
A father feeds his children. Take your spiritual diet seriously so that you don’t end up malnourished and spiritually dead.

MESSAGE:

The expectations of believers sometimes fail because they are based on the wrong foundation. Expectations based on physical quantities such as an individual’s good looks, stature or charm would most likely fail.

Never let your good looks get into your head. The outward looks of a person does not in any way make them better than others. It is just exactly what it is; good looks, nothing more to it, no depth.

Absalom was described as a very good looking man. After Lucifer, Absalom was another personality described as being perfect in beauty, but he wreaked so many Havocs in his life time. He was a murderer who even attempted to kill David, his own father.

At the end of the day, he died prematurely with nothing but shame to show for his life. Don’t be like Absalom, don’t let your looks be all that is good about you. Build your inner self up in every way possible.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, in any way I have trusted in my looks and physique, have mercy on me. From today I put all my trust in You.
