PREAMBLE: Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen
upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the
people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon
thee.

And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy
rising. Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together,
they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.

Isaiah 60:1-4
We thank God for bringing us to year 2019 the year of His glory. We saw the glory ahead in the immediate year past, and as soon as we entered into the New Year 2019, we have begun swimming in glory.

In the midst of so much turbulence in the past, God’s faithfulness to His promises remains steadfastly solid. This will forever be a rallying point for counting on His unfailing everlasting arms of strength by which we can boast;

“Our help in ages past and our hope for the years to come.”

From the above passage, it is certain that there had been a time of darkness and obscurity. But now the Lord has intervened as He usually does being a merciful Father.

Today, whatever we are going through as a Nation and as an individual, are all known to God and He will undoubtedly
intervene. all these are working out the purpose of God for our lives Rom. 8:28.

However God is now calling us again to carry His light burdens in this 49 days fasting and prayers to move His finger against His enemies and His hands upon his Children to see prophesies fulfilled and swim in abundance of God’s Glory.

The following are some guidelines and prayer points that will be helpful during
the period; from Friday 11th January to Thursday 28th February, 2019. May you
be blessed in the Name of Jesus.

Prayer Points On Today’s Open Heavens: (Friday, January 11 2019) – The Gains Of Pain I

1.Thank You, Father, for the grace to believe and trust You; and, thank You, for all the battles You have fought and won on my behalf and family.

2.Father, in anyway I have fallen short of your glory, please, have mercy and forgive me, in Jesus’ name.

3.Covenant keeping God, please, let Your covenant of protection and life eternal, over my family and I, abide forever, in Jesus’ name.

4.Father, arise, plead my cause, fight my battles and let all the enemies of my life, ministry and family, be scattered and put to perpetual shame, in Jesus’ name.

5.Father, let every Goliath, harassing, oppressing, intimidating and cursing me, fall down and die a miserable and shameful death, in Jesus’ name.

6.Lord, You are the God that never fails; let every limitation that has come upon me, as a result of trusting men, rather than You, be lifted and destroyed, today, in Jesus’ name.

7.Father, let every work of hell and powers of darkness, still in my possession, begin to catch fire and be destroyed, in Jesus’ name.

OPEN HEAVEN 11 JANUARY 2019 READ: Jonah 3:1-10

1 And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,

2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

3 So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days’ journey.

4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.

7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:

8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.

9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

When our Lord Jesus Christ taught the words of today’s memory verse, He was referring to those who experience the pain of alienation from their Maker and so groan under the godly sorrow that brings genuine repentance.

We see a clear example of this in our Bible reading today. After hearing the message of impending doom delivered by Jonah, the people of Nineveh demonstrated genuine repentance by openly mourning for their sins. Jonah 3:6 says:

“For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.”

When we allow the Holy Spirit to convict us, the end result is godly sorrow as manifested in Jonah 3:10:

“And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.”

The Holy Spirit put it more directly in 2 Corinthians 7:10 saying:

“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.”

While the first part of this scripture describes the experience of the Ninevites, the latter part is true for the likes of Judas Iscariot, who after betraying the Master, had ungodly sorrow and hanged himself.

Like Judas Iscariot, Peter was also pained for betraying his Master, buy his pain was the result of godly sorrow which led to his repentance, and he became one of the foremost apostles. Click Here To Read – Open Heaven 10 January 2019

How true the word of God is! His word cannot be broken because it is settled in heaven for ever (John 10:35, Psalm 119:89).

Beloved, are you undergoing a kind of godly sorrow because you realise you have failed God in one way or the other? God has a message for you in 1 John 2:1-2

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”

Don’t let your sorrow for sins committed be like that of Judas Iscariot; rather, let it be the godly kind that lead to genuine repentance.

Don’t feel sorry because you were not clever enough to escape being caught in that sinful act. Rather, feel sorry because you have disappointed your Maker, and repent quickly before it is too late.

There is gain in godly sorrow: it produces repentance that opens the door of receiving divine forgiveness of sin and acquittal from judgement. When your sins are forgiven, you are blessed (Psalm 32:1-2).

This blessing is manifested in prompt answers to your prayers, permanent deliverance from the devil’s oppression, and having the Almighty God as your Father. Do you experience godly sorrow for committing sin?

OPEN HEAVEN 11 JANUARY 2019 ACTION POINT: Repent of your sins today, engage your soul in godly sorrow and tell God you are truly sorry. The ungodly pleasure of the moment pales in comparison to the gains that repentance will bring your way.

OPEN HEAVEN 10 JANUARY 2019 MEMORISE: Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

OPEN HEAVEN 10 JANUARY 2019 READ: 2 Chronicles 32:1-8

1 After these things, and the establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself.

2 And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was come, and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem,

3 He took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the fountains which were without the city: and they did help him.

4 So there was gathered much people together, who stopped all the fountains, and the brook that ran through the midst of the land, saying, Why should the kings of Assyria come, and find much water?

5 Also he strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and raised it up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired Millo in the city of David, and made darts and shields in abundance.

6 And he set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the street of the gate of the city, and spake comfortably to them, saying,

7 Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him:

8 With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

The ‘arm of flesh’ refers to efforts that are solely based on the wisdom, ability and strength of man.

Unfortunately, the best of such efforts is limited in any venture, because the spiritual controls the physical. In today’s Bible reading, it is glaring that Hezekiah knew the limitations of the arm of flesh.

Concerning the threats of Sennacherib and his army, he boldly declared in 2 Chronicles 32:7-8:

“Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him: With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.”

Similar to the scenario that played out between Hezekiah and Sennacherib, today’s memory verse tells of an encounter between two individuals who went into battle, one divinely armed and the other relying on the arm of flesh.

The one with the arm of God was David. He went into battle with what seemed to be the feeblest weapon of war – a simple sling (catapult).

On the other hand, Goliath went into battle with the arm of flesh, trusting in his chain armour, helmet of brass, shield, spear and sword, altogether constituting the most sophisticated weapon of war available at that time.

At the end of their duel, Goliath did not live to tell the story of how, within the twinkle of an eye, a feeble stone won a battle that had simmered for more than forty days.

The fate that befell Goliath exemplifies how the arm of flesh can let down those who put their trust in it.

Although the Almighty is a great ally to have, He is also a dangerous enemy to engage in battle. Everyone who lives in sin is at war with Him (Psalm 7:11).

Are you one of those who have not decided to be a friend of God? You must have a rethink today and stop trusting in the arm of flesh which can lead to perpetual shame.

Jesus is Lord, mighty in battle, and He will fight for you if you will let Him be Lord indeed over your life from today.

Many people do not realise that the Almighty God is a strategist and a God of order. This divine character is evident in the story of creation itself.

The orderliness and sequence of the project of creation can only have come from the mind of a master strategist.

The light came first, then the firmament, then the gathering together of the waters and the appearance of dry land, followed by the vegetation upon which the animals would feed, before the animals themselves were created (Genesis 1:1-13).

Everything was in place before man was created. What a wonderful God we serve! No wonder the Psalmist in Psalm 53:1b says:

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.”

In today’s memory verse, the Lord Jesus Christ shared with us the divine wisdom embedded in strategic planning.

It takes strategic planning for anyone to succeed in life, and the good news is that the greatest strategist is our Father in heaven. The ability to strategise wisely is therefore available to us when we give our lives to God through Jesus Christ.

Irrespective of how disjointed you may appear to be as a person, as a born-again Christian, you are a partaker of the divine nature of God, and so you are a strategic planner by nature (2 Peter 1:4). Nehemiah was one strategic builder. Through strategic planning, he was able to do what seemed humanly impossible.

Though very passionate and driven about his mission to rebuild the house of God and the walls of Jerusalem, Nehemiah was not presumptuous in his zeal. His strategy was built on the foundation of first seeking divine guidance through prayer and fasting (Nehemiah 1:4).

Some children of God, maybe due to unrealised hidden pride, would not pray like Nehemiah did to find mercy in the sight of the king (Nehemiah 1:11).

To succeed in life, we need the favour of God to be manifested in the attitude of men towards us. No wonder Luke 2:52 says:

“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

The good news is that even though human beings are complex and unpredictable, they are still under the control of their Maker. Establishing this truth in Proverbs 21:1, the Holy Spirit says:

“The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.”

Nehemiah strategically presented his case before the king, and because he had presented his case to the Lord before going to the king, he got what he wanted: leave of absence, authority to build, the materials for the project and security in the course of building. 1.Thank You, Father, for Your grace and mercy that have kept me till now, because if You are to mark sin, no man shall stand.

Thank you Lord, Hallelujah!

PRAYERS:

1. Why don’t you lift up your hands to the Most High God and just bless His Holy Name. Give Him Glory, give Him Honour, give Him Adoration. Praise Him for everything He did for you last year. Praise Him for bringing you to this New Year. Magnify His Holy Name, Praise Him (3ce). He is worthy to be Praised. Bless the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, bless the Ancient of Days.

… Thank you Father. In Jesus Mighty Name we have prayed – Amen!

2. Now lift up your voice to Him loud and clear and say Father; throughout this Year (2019), let me have cause to Praise you. Go ahead, talk to the Almighty God – throughout this Year (2019) oh Lord from January to December; let me have cause to Praise your Name day-by-day, week-by-week, Month-by-Month throughout this Year (2019). Let me have cause to to Praise your Name. Thank you Father, in Jesus Mighty Name we have prayed – Amen!

OPENING PRAYERS

My Father and my God, the Ancient of Days, the Alpha and the Omega, the Unchangeable Changer, we worship you.

Thank you for last year, thank you for this year and thank you for tomorrow. Be Glorified forever oh Lord. Accept our thanks in Jesus Name.

Father, this Year; from the beginning to the ending let us have cause to sing, let us have cause to dance and let us have cause to Praise your Name. Let this Year be a year of Joy for us. Let it be a Year of “Continuous Thanksgiving” Lord.

And please Lord, all your children who has been Faithful in the payment of their tithes and giving of their offerings; this Year embarrass them with your Blessings. Silence all their Mockers. Promote them oh Lord.

Take them to “Greater Heights”.

And wherever they may be all over the world today (or reading); send Help to your children. At the end of everything Lord, let your Name be Glorified again.

Today, we want to Praise the Lord so it should not be a long sermon. Open Heaven 8 January 2019

One of my sons was talking to us few days ago and he summarized everything in a sentenced: “Anyone who is not Grateful to God is a Great Fool”.

Is there any fool here today? If you are wise shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah!

BIBLE TEXT: PSALMS 116: 12-14

12. What shall I render unto the LORD for all His benefits towards me?

13. I will take the cup of Salvation and call upon the Name of the LORD.

14. I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the Presence of His people.

David said: What shall I rendered unto the LORD for all of His benefits towards me? Then he said I will take the cup of Salvation and call upon the Name of the LORD. I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the Presence of His people.

You know a man’s life/ woman’s life can be divided into three (3) parts: Past Present and Future.

So today, I want you to thank God in three (3) parts: Thank God for the Past, thank God for the Present and thank God for the Future.

1. Why must I thank God for the Past?

When you get home, read Psalms 124: 1-8. It says that if the Lord has not been on our side, what shall we be saying now?

Do you know that not everyone who sleeps that wakes up? There are many people who slept last year and did not wake up? And for three hundred and sixty (365) days; you slept and you woke up.

Whether you believed it or not, there are forces of darkness holding meetings concerning you constantly. Each time you slept, they are plotting how you will not wake up but God was on your side. He gave you Victories over enemies known and unknown.

So for what God did last year; let me hear somebody shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah!

2. Why must I thank God for the Present?

Psalms 150:6 says: Let everything that has breadth Praise the Lord.

Are you still breathing? Then shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah!

Now why will God said that anyone who is breathing should Praise Him?

It is because as long as you are still breathing, there is hope for you.

The Bible says that a living dog is better than a dead lion. Once a lion is dead, it is dead. The dog that is still living can multiply.

Oh, last year I thought that I will marry but I didn’t; you are still alive and there is hope for you. I thought last year I will be promoted but there was no promotion; you are still alive there is hope for you.

I thought last year that this will happened and that will happened; you are still alive. And as long as the Lord is still on the throne, there is hope for you.

So those of you who knows that you are not an “Hopeless Case” let me hear you shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah!

Some of you remembered the story of a lady: she lost her job, they stole her car and then her kitchen caught fire.

And she came to Church dancing, rejoicing and everybody say of all people you are rejoicing? She said oh yes. I lost my job not my life I can still get another job.

They stole my car, they didn’t steal my Salvation. My kitchen got burnt but am not going to hell.

If you are still alive today and still breathing let me hear you shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah!

3. And then why should I thank God for the future?

See many people don’t know why they should thank God for the future because the future is unknown. We don’t know what this New Year may bring.

But the Bible says in Revelations 1:8; Jesus described Himself. He said that I am the Alpha and the Omega; the Beginning and the Ending.

The One who was (that is the Past); the One who is (that is Present) and the One who is to come (that is the Future); the Almighty.

Oh, you don’t know what tomorrow may bring but if you are a Christian you have nothing to worry about because where you are going to, the Omega is waiting for you.

I have said this to you before that no human being can control your future. Your future is in the Hands of the Omega; the One who is called the Almighty.

So because the Almighty is waiting for you; in February He is there, March He is there, April He is there and all the way to December, He is there.

So I know without any doubt that your tomorrow will be alright. If you believe that shout Hallelujah – Hallelujah!

But then there is one other reason why you should thank God for the future. And you will find it in what David said in 1 Samuel 17:34-37.

He said to King Saul that while in the past that I was taking care of the sheep of my father; the lion came to take one of the sheep, I grab the lamb from the lion. The lion stood up to fight me, I punched him and kill him.

A bear came, repeated the same thing; I punched him and kill the bear. He said that the same God who delivered me from the lion and delivered me from the bear will take care of the Goliath.

What was he saying?

The God who was Faithful last year will be Faithful in the future.

That is why am decreeing to somebody here today (or reading); it doesn’t matter what 2019 may bring, the God who saw you through 2018 will see you through.

Be grateful for the Past because the Past will take care of the Present. Be grateful for the Present because the Present is the mother of the future.

Praise God for what He has done, Praise Him for what He is doing and Praise Him for what He is yet to do.

The elders has a Proverb. It says that when you see an hunter who has just returned from a successful hunting expedition and he is beginning to offer sacrifice to the “god of the iron”; he is not doing so because of the animal he has already hunt. He is doing so because of the animals that remains in the bush.

So if you thank God very well today for what He had already done; He will pour additional Blessings in the Year 2019.

The only fellow who could go through 2019 with fear and without hope is the one who has not gotten Jesus Christ. Because the Bible says in Colossians 1:27; “Christ in me, the Hope of Glory”.

I can guarantee to every Christian that this Year will be a Glorious Year for you.

So David asked the question: What shall I render unto the Lord for all His benefits unto me?

And I have just mentioned a few. You can add many others.

If you have ever visited the prison (and I do so regularly); you will discover that not everybody in the prison are criminals. Some people didn’t do anything wrong but landed there.

I have told us the story before of a young man the first time I visited Kirikiri Prison in 1975. He was on the organ playing and dancing.

So I asked the elderly Pastor who took me there (Pastor Alabi of Blessed Memory); they are going to release that boy next week? Because we went on Sunday and he was about twenty five (25) years old. He said no, he is here for life!

Ah, what did he do? He said he had a little quarrel with his friend and slap the friend. The friend fell down and died. So they took him the court, charge him for murder.

When everybody came to testify they were friends and its just a little misunderstanding. So they said that we won’t kill him but send him to Life Imprisonment.

Oh, I have been there. I have seen people in prison who has been in prison for 13 years for an offence that if they are found guilty of, they will serve for three (3) years but they are still awaiting trials.

You are at home, you can sleep when you want, you can go where you want to go, you can eat what you want to eat. Nobody has lied against you.

You have a hand that you can wave, your eyes can still see, your mouth can still speak, your ears can still hear, your mouth can still shout Hallelujah!

What can I render? It is up to you!

But David said that I will take the “Cup of Salvation” meaning that if you are not yet saved, you will receive Salvation. If you are already saved, you will share your Salvation with others.

You will share the “Cup of Salvation” by telling others that I have tasted the Lord, He is Good. So come and taste Him too.

Then he said; I will call on the Name of the Lord.

What does he mean by that?

He said I will eulogized God: I will call Him the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the Ancient of Days, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the Unchangeable Changer, the One who was, the One who is and the One who is to come; the One who can never failed, my friend, my Provider, my Supporter, my Defender, my All in All.

And then he said that “I will pay my Vows”.

I will give Him something to let Him know that I appreciate Him.

Nobody can decide for you what you can give God as a “Thanksgiving Offering”. It is up to you as you know how much He has done for you.

… So thank Him accordingly.

So if you are here and you are yet to give your life to Jesus; the first thing that you should do is to give Him your life as appreciation.

So if you want to give your life to Jesus, come out very quickly. We will not wait for you because the rest of us wants to Praise God.

The rest of us let us just stand up on our feet and begin to Praise the Almighty God.

Begin to worship the Almighty God. Call Him His Name – King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Ancient of Days. Just go ahead to give Him Glory.

Thank Him for the Past, thank Him for the Present, thank Him for the Future. He is the Rock of Ages, Rose of Sharon, the One that has a Name that is above all names.

If you want to give your life to Jesus, please come quickly and don’t wait for anybody. The Lord is calling you, let this day be your “Day of Salvation”.

So I will count from 1 to 5; come and surrender your life to Jesus. That is the best Gift you can give to Him. He is the One that has kept you alive till today.

He is calling on you as He loves you and so wants to save your soul. He wants you to be member of His family.

… Thank you Almighty Father. Glory be to your Holy Name. In Jesus Mighty Name we have prayed – Amen!

GO PRAYS: And so Father we want to say thank you to you – thank you for your Words and thank you for these people who has come forward now. Please Lord receive them in Jesus Name.

Save their souls, let your Blood wash away their sins, write their names in the Book of Life. Receive them into the family of God. And from now on, anytime they call on you answer them by Fire.

And once again am committing all your children here today (or those reading) in your hands; they are going to say thank you today. Even before the end of today give them another Miracle.

On a day-by-day basis this Year (2019); Father give them Testimonies. Let them have Greater Cause to thank you in Jesus Mighty Name we have prayed – Amen.

Now those of you who has come forward I rejoice with you and I want to promise you that God helping me; from now on, I will be praying for you.

So I will need your names, address and prayer request. I promise you that I will be praying for you.

The Counsellors will be attending to you in a moment but I want you to be part of the Praise others will be doing just for a few minutes.

So brethren for the next five (5) minutes for our own self, thank the Almighty God – open your mouth and thank Him – Father thank you for my yesterday, thank you for my today, thank you for my tomorrow.

Thank you for my life, Health, Strength and thank you for all the benefits in my life.

… Keep on thanking Him for another four (4) minutes!
