Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter the kingdom of God.  Acts 14:22

Read Revelation 19:5-9

5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.

6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Open Heaven 2 August 2018 Bible in one year – Esther 8-10, Matthew 12:33-50

Based on the erroneous understanding of the scripture in Revelation 7:4, a certain religious group claims that only one hundred and forty four thousand people will qualify to be in heaven. This cannot be further from the truth because the bible says in verse 9 of that same chapter

“After this I  beheld, and, lo, a great multitude which no man could number , of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues,stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;”

Further debunking this wrong teaching, Apostle John on today’s Bible reading heard the voice of a great multitude shouting Alleluia in worship of the omnipotent God. They were rejoicing because they were numbered among the participants at the marriage super of the Lamb. Click Here To Read – Open Heaven 1 August 2018

The question for our consideration today is, what qualifies them to be numbered among this very important guest at the marriage super of the Lamb? The answer to this question is found in Revelation 7:13-14

“And one of the elders answered , saying unto me, what are these which are arrayed in white robes?and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said unto me, these are they which came out of the great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”

Open Heaven 2 August 2018

Our Lord Jesus Christ came to shed His Blood for the remission of our sins, so that we can qualify as citizens of heaven and be numbered among he saints. What is required of us to accept the offer of his atonement and live by the articles of the new covenant, which He sealed with His Blood.

Doing his will surely attract persecution and tribulation in this world. The challenge with some contemporary Christians is that they don’t want to experience persecution or undergo tribulations for the sake of their faith in Christ. They want the world to accept them and so they adjust their message to what the world likes. We often forget this words of Jesus in John 15:20

“If they have persecuted me they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying they will also keep yours also.”

In other words, just as the world did not like the teachings of the Master, they will also not like ours. However when we introduce gimmicks not found in the teachings and lifestyle of Jesus Christ and His apostles into our message, the message loses its power. How shall we have numbered among the guest at the marriage super of the Lamb? The answer lies in these words from Acts 14:22

“we must through tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.” There is no other way.

The great physician

The Great Physician now is near,
The sympathizing Jesus;
He speaks the drooping heart to cheer,
Oh, hear the voice of Jesus!
Sweetest note in seraph

Refrain:
Sweetest name on mortal tongue;
Sweetest carol ever sung:
Jesus, blessed Jesus!

2 Your many sins are all forgiv’n,
Oh, hear the voice of Jesus;
The veil ’twixt you and God is riven,
Redemption wrought by Jesus.

3 All glory to the dying Lamb!
I now believe in Jesus;
I love the blessed Savior’s name,
I love the name of Jesus.

4 His name dispels my guilt and fear,
No other name but Jesus;
Oh, how my soul delights to hear
The charming name of Jesus

Open Heaven 1 August 2018 – Memorise

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous  light: 1 Peter 2:9

Bible Reading For Today – Daniel 4:28-37

The Dream Is Fulfilled

28 All this happened to King Nebuchadnezzar.

29 Twelve months later, as the king was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon, 30 he said, “Is not this the great Babylon I have built as the royal residence, by my mighty power and for the glory of my majesty?”

31 Even as the words were on his lips, a voice came from heaven, “This is what is decreed for you, King Nebuchadnezzar: Your royal authority has been taken from you.

32 You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the ox. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes.”

33 Immediately what had been said about Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled. He was driven away from people and ate grass like the ox. His body was drenched with the dew of heaven until his hair grew like the feathers of an eagle and his nails like the claws of a bird.

34 At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever.

His dominion is an eternal dominion;
his kingdom endures from generation to generation.

35 All the peoples of the earth
are regarded as nothing.
He does as he pleases
with the powers of heaven
and the peoples of the earth.
No one can hold back his hand
or say to him: “What have you done?”

36 At the same time that my sanity was restored, my honor and splendor were returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. My advisers and nobles sought me out, and I was restored to my throne and became even greater than before.

37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble.

“But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement.”
Matthew 12:36

It is unfortunate that king Nebuchadnezzar did not know the above the scripture; perhaps he would have been spared the agony of experiencing God’s humbling judgement for seven years.

While he strolled in his palace on a day like any other, he flippantly attributed his conquest and successes to his ability, forgetting that there are kings and there is a KING of kings. He did not consider the benevolence of God Almighty in his rise to greatness, and his attitude sent him to God’s school of humility. May you never have to learn humility by passing through this school in Jesus name.

As children of God who have been made kings unto God there are many lessons we should learn from King Nebuchadnezzar. As revealed in today’s memory verse, the reason for our divine election as kings is to show forth the praises of the Almighty Abba Father, who has called us out of darkness into the marvellous light of His Son, Jesus (Revelation 3:21, Ephesians 2:6). Click to read – Open Heaven 31 July 2018

Based on Nebuchadnezzar’s experience, it will be dangerous for us to forget that we are who we are only because of God’s grace. The Holy Spirit reminds us of this in 1 Corinthians 4:7 , saying:

“For who maketh thee to differ from the  another? And what hast thou that didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why doest thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?”

Children of God should be conscious of the fact that we are not redeemed of boast or to please ourselves. Revelation 4:10 reveals that the elders in heaven lay their crowns at God’s feet in worship and adoration; this is exactly what the KING of kings expects from us also. The question is how seriously do you take the Lordship of Jesus Christ over your life?

Christians who live in lawlessness due to unlimited liberty are saying that they have no King above them. Therefore beloved, examine yourself today to see whether you have taken control of your life away from the KING of Kings. If you have quickly return the authority over your life back to Him. Furthermore do not forget that your crown as a king under the KING is called crown of righteousness; therefore we walk and reign on His behalf in perfection (2 Timothy 4:8)

WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS

Verse 1:
What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Verse 2:
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Verse 3:
Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.

Message For Open Heaven 31 July 2018 With Hymn

Today’s memory verse reveals the blessedness of working for peace. It is amazing that he Master Himself said that working for peace is what truly identifies us as children of God.  How I pray that everyone who professes to be a child of God will take working for peace very seriously! The first peace you need to work towards is peace with God. God Himself is trying to make peace with you. In 2nd Corinthians 5:19-20 He says to you:

“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”

We broker peace with our Maker when, like the prodigal son, we came to the altar of repentance to confess our sins with a promise and commitment never to go back to them again. When we do this, we have this assurance from 1st John 1:9:

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Open Heaven 31 July 2018

In our Bible text, we are told to follow peace with all men. This cannot be possible until we have reconciled with God first. When we are reconciled with God, the Bible says God will make our enemies be at peace with us (Proverbs 16:7). Click here to read – Open Heaven 30 July 2018

When your enemies are at peace with you, that enemy that has been blocking your way to success will be used by God to pave way to your breakthrough. This is the blessedness of working for peace. In addition to making peace with God, you should also endeavour to live peaceably with your neighbours. In Matthew 5:25, Our Lord Jesus Christ counselled us, saying:

“Agree with thine adversary quickly. Whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the office, and thou be cast into prison.”

It is unfortunate that some believers find it difficult to amicably settle their differences with fellow believers. This is dangerous, and as Jesus Christ said, the price of being irreconcilable may be as high as going to hell. May this not be our portion in Jesus’ Name. Have you been reconciled with your Maker and your fellow men, especially those in the household of faith? Do not forget that those who work for peace are blessed. Tap into this blessing today.

Reconcile with God and your neighbour today, if you have anything against him or her.

Open Heaven 30 July 2018 – Bible in one year: Nehemiah 12-13, Matthew 10:40-11:19

Hymnal: Sing hymn 4

Message For Today’s Open Heaven 30 July 2018 & Hymn

Obedience is the willingness to submit oneself to the will of God and to live by His will. The Bible emphasizes the importance of obeying God’s commandments, gives reasons why obedience is necessary and states the rewards promised to obedient people.

The Bible also presents Jesus Christ, the Messiah, as the perfect example of obedience and directs us to fellow in His footsteps. Jesus Himself made several statements admonishes, encourage and even command us to follow and learn from Him. In John 10:27, He said:

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:”

The call to imitate Jesus in thought, speech and action is repeated in several places in the Bible, but in Philippians 2:5, the Holy Spirit took it as step higher, saying to us:

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”

What mind is He talking about here? He is referring to the loving, merciful, self-abasing, self-sacrificing mind which was in Jesus Christ. Although Jesus was the anointed Son of God, He made himself of no reputation. Our Lord did not think of Himself, neither did He serve His own interests. Click here to read – Open Heaven 29 July 2018

Open Heaven 30 July 2018

He came not to be ministered to, but rather to minister and give His life as a ransom for many. To carry out His assignment here on earth, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death. These descriptions of His sacrifice sum up the nature of mind the Holy Spirit is referring to.

Obedience to the will of God demonstrates the reality of a person’s faith in Jesus Christ (John 14:15). Christ’s humility created the grounds for our total commitment and submission to the will of God. It also earned Him the title of “Author of Eternal Salvation” (Hebrews 5:9). Oh, how great His love for us is! Because of His great love for us and His determination to save us from the wrath of God, He became obedient unto death – even the death of the cross.

God’s own dear Son came in the form of a man to fulfil all the requirements of God’s law for the sake of His people. Having fulfilled all righteousness, He submitted Himself to a shameful and excruciating death on the cross of Calvary. Since Christ’s love for us is so evident, the least we can do for His sake is to love one another as He loved us (1st John 4:9-11). This is the essence of Christianity: to develop a good appreciation of what Jesus did for us and to follow in His steps to the benefit of humanity and the glory of God.

Prayer Point – Open Heaven 30 July 2018

Father, Please grant me a heart of total submission and obedience to You, in Jesus’ Name.

Sing hymn 4 – TRUST AND OBEY

When we walk with the Lord in

the light of His Word,

What a glory He sheds on our

way!

While we do His good will, He

abides with us still,

And with all who will trust and

obey.

Chorus

Trust and obey, for there’s no other

Way

To be happy in Jesus, but to trust

and obey.

Not a shadow can rise, not a

cloud in the skies,

But His smile quickly drives it

away;

Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh

or a tear,

Can abide while we trust and

obey.

Not a burden we bear, not a

sorrow we share,

But our toil He doth richly

repay;

Not a grief or a loss, not a frown

or a cross,

But is blessed if we trust and

obey.

But we never can prove the

delights of His love

Until all on the alter we lay;

For the favor He shows, for the

Joy He bestows,

Are from them who will trust and

obey.

Then in fellowship sweet we

will sit at His feet,

Or we’ll walk by His side in the

way;

What He says we will do, where

He sends we will go;

Never fear, only trust and obey.

Bible Passage: 1 Corinthians 15:50-53 (RCCG Sunday School TEACHER’s Manual July 29, 2018)

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

MEMORY VERSE: “2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” – John 14:2-3.

TEXT REVIEW: 1 CORINTHIANS 15:50-53
Verse 51 of today’s text explains the mystery behind rapture. The momentary event will be heralded with the sound of the trumpet of God and both the dead and the living will be changed, starting with the dead. Therefore, rapture has to do with changing of our mortal body to immortal, corruptible body to incorruptible or victorious body and sudden “catch up” of the saints into the air.

LESSON OUTLINES
1. Why will the rapture take place?
2. Who will be raptured?

WHY WILL THE RAPTURE TAKE PLACE?
i. To resurrect the just of all ages from among the dead. 1Thess. 4:13-17; Ps. 50:1- 6.

ii. To take the saints out of the world before the tribulation. Lk. 21:34-36; 2Thess2:7-8; 1Thess.1:10.

iii. That Jesus Christ might present to Himself a church without spots or wrinkles. Eph. 5:27; John 14:1-3.

iv. To transform or change the bodies of all faithful saints from mortality to immortality. Phil. 3:20-21; 1Cor.15:21-23, 42-44, 51-58.

v. To assemble the saints at the marriage supper of the Lamb. Rev. 19:1-10.

vi. To allow the revelation of the anti-Christ 2Thess2:1-8.

vii. To present saints to God the Father. 1Thess.3:13; Jude 24.

viii. To make the saints whole in body, soul and spirit 1Jn3:2-3; Rom.8:22-23

CLASS ACTIVITY 1
Why do you think God decided to catch the saints up into the air suddenly without giving a prior date?

WHO WILL BE RAPTURED?

i. Those that are in Christ at His coming. John 1:12; 2Cor. 5:17

ii. Those who earnestly desire His appearance. Titus 2:13; Phil. 3:20

iii. Those who love the Lord absolutely. Phil.3:7-10; John 21:15-17; John 14:15; Mark 16:15-18; Luke 19:12-13

iv. Those whose citizenship are in Heaven. Phil 3:20-21; Eph. 2:19.

v. Those that will live holy even as He is holy. 1Pet. 1:16; Heb. 12:14; 1John 3:3

Be watchful so as not to miss the rapture because only those who are absolutely ready will be raptured.

Teachers and students should do everything possible to be rapturable.
These among others include: watchfulness, fellowshipping with brethren and the Holy Spirit and keeping the unity of faith. 1Thess. 5:6; Eph. 10:25; Eph. 4:3
