OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 13 NOVEMBER 2023 BIBLE READING LUKE 5:36-38

[36]And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old.

[37]And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.
[38]But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 13 NOVEMBER 2023 MESSAGE

After Job lost all his possessions, children, and fame, God gave him a fresh start in the latter part of His life, A Yoruba adage says: “the palace that got burnt will be rebuilt in great splendour”.

That unpleasant situation you have been through should not determine your end because there is a chance to start afresh now that you’re still young.

Jesus gave the adulterous woman a fresh start, and she became a vessel unto honour. Likewise, the thief on the right hand of Jesus at the cross also had a fresh start. Saul, who became Paul, had a fresh start.

It is not possible to have committed a sin worse than these people, so you also can have a fresh start.

What you need may just be a new studying strategy from God.

If you are tired of reading and not getting a pleasant result, God can turn it around and make it a new beginning for you.

Only God can give a fresh start, for Him to do so, surrender all to Him, obey His word, and be diligent in all you do.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS NOVEMBER 2023 KEY POINT

A fresh start is possible if only you give God a chance.

HYMN 6: I’M PRESSING ON THE UPWARD WAY

1. I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining everyday;
Still praying as I onward bound
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

CHORUS
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven’s table-land;
Where love, and joy, and light abound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

2. My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise, and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,
My constant aim is higher ground.

3. Beyond the mist I fain would rise,
To rest beneath unclouded skies,
Above earth’s turmoil peace is found
By those who dwell on higher ground.

4. I long to scale the utmost height,
Though rough the way, and hard the fight,
My song, while climbing, shall resound
Lord, lead me on to higher ground.

5. Lord, lead me up the mountain side
I dare not climb without my Guide;
And, heaven gained, I’ll gaze around,
With grateful heart from higher ground.

OPEN HEAVEN 14 NOVEMBER 2023 TUESDAY: BENEFITS OF HOLINESS I

OPEN HEAVEN 14 NOVEMBER 2023 MEMORISE: Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. Job 1:10 (KJV)

OPEN HEAVEN 14 NOVEMBER 2023 BIBLE TEXT Job 1:8-10 (KJV)

And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

Beloved, kindly share these life-changing messages, prayers, and declarations with the precious people around you.

Daily Confession: I confess Today and everyday that I am a favored child of God, committed to intimate communion with Him, willing to pay the price of discipline and prioritize His approval over public opinion, trusting in His divine elevation and favor in every aspect of my life, in the matchless name of Jesus. Somebody shout Hallelujah!

OPEN HEAVEN 14 NOVEMBER 2023 MESSAGE

I am a holiness preacher. In fact, if you were to cut me into a million pieces, each piece would keep crying, “Be holy”.

The reason I keep emphasizing the need to be holy is that I have seen the tremendous benefits in living a holy life.

I will share some of these benefits with you today.

First, when you are holy, you become untouchable to the devil.

In Job 1:10, the devil said God had put a hedge around Job, making it impossible for him to be harmed.

There is a hedge of fire around every true child of God living holy.

The devil cannot harm you even if he tries. The devil tried to kill Daniel by throwing him into a den of lions.

He however, failed because innocence was found in Daniel 6:22.

Throughout Jesus’ lifetime, the devil tried several times to get him killed but consistently failed because Jesus lived a holy life as we see in John 14:30 where Jesus said:

Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

Jesus however, surrendered His life later so as to fulfill God’s plan (John 10:17-18).

When I was a Lecturer at the University of Lagos, one of my students came to me one day and told me she had a dream where four men pointed guns at her.

When she awoke, she ran to a palm reader who told her she would die unfailingly on the 23rd of March, that year.

She decided to go to a witch doctor and a so-called prophet who both said the same thing.

When she told me the story, I told her, “If you give your life to Jesus, you will live and not die.”

She gave her life to Jesus Christ, He washed away her sins and she left.

On the 24th of March, she was still alive and I reminded her that I had told her she would not die.

She however, told me that something strange happened the previous night.

She said no one was able to sleep in her hostel that night as there were all sorts of strange occurrences.

The spirit of death indeed came for her but couldn’t touch her because of the hedge of fire around her.

If there is sin in your life, the devil can harm you, but when you live a holy life in Jesus, he cannot touch you.

RCCG HYMN 19: Rock Of Ages, Cleft For Me

1 Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee;
let the water and the blood,
from thy wounded side which flowed,
be of sin the double cure;
save from wrath and make me pure.

2 Not the labors of my hands
can fulfill thy law’s demands;
could my zeal no respite know,
could my tears forever flow,
all for sin could not atone;
thou must save, and thou alone.

3 Nothing in my hand I bring,
simply to the cross I cling;
naked, come to thee for dress;
helpless, look to thee for grace;
foul, I to the fountain fly;
wash me, Savior, or I die.

4 While I draw this fleeting breath,
when mine eyes shall close in death,
when I soar to worlds unknown,
see thee on thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee.

OPEN HEAVEN 13 NOVEMBER 2023 MONDAY: BECOMING INTIMATE WITH GOD II

OPEN HEAVEN 13 NOVEMBER 2023 MEMORISE: All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. 1 Corinthians 10:23 (KJV)

OPEN HEAVEN 13 NOVEMBER 2023 BIBLE TEXT Psalm 26:1-8 (KJV)

1 Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the Lord; therefore I shall not slide.

Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.

For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.

I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers.

I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.

I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O Lord:

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.

Lord, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth.

Beloved, kindly share these life-changing messages, prayers, and declarations with the precious people around you.

Daily Confession: I confess Today and everyday that I am crowned with God’s glory and honor, walking in the authority and perfection He has bestowed upon me, fueled by His mercy and compassion to do greater works in His vineyard with passion and humility, in the matchless name of Jesus. Somebody shout Hallelujah!

OPEN HEAVEN 13 NOVEMBER 2023 MESSAGE

Those who want to be intimate with God must love what He loves and hate what He hates.

If you want to get close to God, you must know the things that He hates and stay far away from them (1 Thessalonians 5:22).

Anywhere you see something that looks like sin, flee!

Whenever I hear people trying to justify something sinful, I get irritated because clearly, this is something to stay away from.

Apostle Paul said:

All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 1 Corinthians 6:12

If you really want to be intimate with God, you will stay away from even things that, though lawful, would have a negative impact on your relationship with Him.

In Daniel 1:3-8, Daniel decided not to eat the king’s meat. It was lawful but he knew that it would defile him, so he refused.

It is lawful to be intimate with your legally married spouse or eat three times a day.

There is no sin in that at all, but those who want to be intimate with God know that they must fast often.

They know that there is a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing so that they can give themselves wholly to God (Ecclesiastes 3:5-1 Corinthians 7:4-5).

Apostle Paul – a man who desperately wanted to be intimate with God, refused to marry so that there would be absolutely nothing to distract him in his journey of intimacy with God.

The question to you now is: do you really want to be intimate with God?

If you do, then there are some things you have to stay away from because they are impediments to the flow of the Spirit of God in a person’s life.

You know them yourself; they make you feel filthy and draw you far from the Lord. Stay away from them.

In turn, spend your time basking in the presence of God and just fellowshipping with true brethren.

As you do this and get closer to God, you would begin to realise that you are becoming more and more like Him, and you will even begin to carry His power to work miracles.

OPEN HEAVEN 13 NOVEMBER 2023 KEY POINT

Even some lawful things may have to be avoided in order to get closer to God.

OPEN HEAVEN 13 NOVEMBER 2023 HYMN

HYMN 4: Be Glad In The Lord And Rejoice

1 BE glad in the Lord, and rejoice,
All ye that are upright in heart;
And ye that have made Him your choice,
Bid sadness and sorrow depart.

Refrain:
Rejoice, rejoice!
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice!
Rejoice, rejoice!
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice!

2 Be joyful, for He is the Lord,
On earth and in heaven supreme;
He fashions and rules by His word;
The Mighty and Strong to redeem.

3 What though in the conflict for right
Your enemies almost prevail!
God’s armies, just hid from your sight,
Are more than the foes which assail.

4 Though darkness surround you by day,
Your sky by the night be o’er-cast,
Let nothing your spirit dismay,
But trust till the danger is past.

6 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice,
His praises proclaiming in song;
With harp, and with organ, and voice,
The loud hallelujahs prolong!

OUTLINES:

1. Satan’s “World System”

2. God Has A “New World”

1. Satan’s “World System”

A. The Bible uses the word “world” in three ways.

i. First, it can refer to the earth, which God created (Genesis 1:1; Acts 17:24).

ii. Second, the “world” can refer to people, as in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world…”

iii. The third use is found in 1 John 2:15, where the believer is warned not to love the world or the things in the world.
“The world” in this passage refers to the “operating system of the world” – which is satanic.

B. Since the fall of Adam and Eve, Satan has not changed his mode of operation (Genesis 3:11-13):

i. He has been consistent at deceiving; manipulating and dominating those who refuse to completely yield themselves to God (Romans 6:13, 16).

ii. The “software” Satan designed to turn man against his maker is still working in the world (Ephesians 2:2-3; 2 Corinthians 4:4).

C. Satan controls his evil ‘world system’ and uses the attractive things of his world to deceive and destroy people (Matthew 4:8-9; 1 Peter 5:8).

i. Satan’s “world system” comprises money, materialism, cultism, addictions, lust, selfishness, greed, pride, etc.

ii. Also, Satan uses filthy and worldly music, adulterated TV reality shows, sexy movies and indecent dressing to entice innocent souls by flooding their minds with wrong thoughts and getting them involved in unspeakable vices.

iii. He convinces people to repel against higher authorities (Jude 8).

iv. This is what Apostle John summarises in 1 John 2:16
“For all that is in the world – the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – is not of the Father but is of the world.”
There is nothing good or godly in these things.

CLASS ACTIVITY 1

Mention other tools of the “world system’.

2. God Has A “New World”

A. Satan’s ‘world system’ hates God, it hates God’s Son-Jesus Christ, and it Hates God’s peopie. Hence:

i. The Bible clearly warns against friendship with the world (James 4:4).

ii. God will one day completely destroy satans world system (2 Peter 3:10).

B. This world has been ruined by sin, but God has a “new world” for those who love him.

i. It is called “the kingdom of God.”

ii. The Lord Jesus is the King and Ruler of God’s new world (Isaiah 9:6; 1 Corinthians 15:25).

C. When we surrender our lives to the Lord Jesus to be our Lord and Saviour:

1. God takes us out or Satan’s kindaom of darkness and puts us into “the kingdom of His dear Son.”

ii. We are no longer in Satan’s ‘world system’ (Galatians 1:4; Colossians 1:12-14).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2

What can believers do to be part of the “New world”?

CONCLUSION: RCCG SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS MANUAL 12 NOVEMBER 2023

Satan’s world system may seem very beautiful and attractive but it is a path to destruction (Proverbs 14:12). Choose to be on God’s side.

RCCG YAYA SUNDAY SCHOOL YOUTH 12 NOVEMBER 2023 (LESSON 11)

TOPIC: HONOUR MEN

BIBLE PASSAGE: Romans 13:7-8

 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

MEMORY VERSE: 1 Peter 2:17 (NKJV)

“Honour all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.”

INTRODUCTION

In our previous lesson, we learned about reasons for honouring God and ways to honour God. We also learned the meaning of honour which is to bestow value upon someone or highly esteem another.

The bible exhorts us to give honour to whom it is due (Romans 13:7).

In this lesson, we shall attempt to categorise those who deserve honour and how we can attain honour as well.

OUTLINES:

1. PEOPLE DESERVING HONOUR

2. ATTAINING TRUE HONOUR

1. PEOPLE DESERVING HONOUR

A. The idea of honouring people is biblical can be showcased in many of our basic relationships. Here are some of them:

i. Citizen-Authority relationships: We are to honour those in authority through obedience and demonstration of respect, irrespective of their age or qualification. This comes from the fact that they represent God’s ultimate authority (Romans 13:1-2).

ii. Laity-Clergy relationships: The Bible speaks of the leadership of the church as deserving “double honour’ (1 Timothy 5:17).

iii. Employee-Employer relationships: We are equally commanded to honour one another in our employer-employee relationships (Ephesians 6:5-9).

iv. Husband-Wife relationships: In a marriage relationship, the husband is expected to love and show appreciation to his wife while she reciprocates with reverence (Ephesians 5:33).

v. Children-Parents relationships: The command to honour our parents comes with a promise (Exodus 20:12). To do otherwise is to attract untimely death (Matthew 15:4).

B. On the whole, the Bible admonishes us to honour all men (1 Peter 2:17).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1:

Should the wicked/ungodly leaders be honoured?

2. ATTAINING TRUE HONOUR

A. The Bible teaches that:

i. True honour is found in God (Deuteronomy 26:19).

ii. Anyone who wishes to attain true honour must, first of all, have a cordial relationship with God (Psalm 91:14-15).

B. To attain honour, we must be:

i. Righteous (Proverbs 21:21).

ii. Humble (Proverbs 22:4; Proverbs 15:33).

iii. Wise and intelligent (Proverbs 4:7-8).

iv. Hardworking and diligent (Proverbs 22:29).

v. Faithful and maintain integrity (Psalm 41:12; Proverbs 20:7), among others.

CLASS ACTIVITY 2

Students should discuss whether wealth or riches should be a criterion for honour.

CONCLUSION: RCCG YAYA SUNDAY SCHOOL YOUTH 12 NOVEMBER 2023

If we honour those promoted by God, He will honour us too. Do not look down on anyone.

QUESTION:

  • Mention five categories of people who deserve to be honoured?
  • How can we attain true honour?

RCCG HOUSE FELLOWSHIP MANUAL 12 NOVEMBER 2023

TOPIC: FIGHT FOR YOUR DESTINY

Memory Verse: 1 Corinthians 9:26

I therefore so run, not as uncertainty; so fight, not as one that beateth the air.

Bible Text: 1 Samuel 17:26-27

26 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?

27 And the people answered him after this manner, saying, So shall it be done to the man that killeth him.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

Destiny means your future which has been divinely planned to be great and full of glorious accomplishments.

Individual destiny has been aforementioned by Almighty God, which is the reason you have to fight to attain that glorious height God has designed for you.

In Exodus 2:1-3, the mother of Moses did initially fight for her son’s destiny before God took over.

In verse 3, the Bible says;
“And when she could no longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes…”

From the day someone is born, the fight to fulfill their destiny has begun.

KNOW YOUR PURPOSE

When talking of purpose, it means your target, aim, goal, a result that is desired, your strong will or resolution.

It also means establishing set of values, principles and beliefs that give life meaning for you and then using those sets of values to guide the decisions and actions you take.

What is your purpose on earth?

You are created by God to give Him pleasure through your act of worship, holiness and righteousness – Job 22:3; Psalms 147:11.

You are made to bring laughter to others, be devoted to others – 2 Cor. 2:4.

You are to become like Jesus, always yielding to His longing – Phil.3:10.

You have been won to win others to Christ – I Corinthians 9:16.

Since God is love (John 15:12), you are to love others including unbelievers – Romans 13:8.

FIGHT DESTINY KILLERS

What are destiny killers?

Inability to believe in your divine ability – Exodus 3:11.

Laziness – Proverbs 6:6.

Lack of discipline.

Inordinate affection and ambition – Colossians 3:5.

Negative thought- Numbers 13:30-33.

CONCLUSION: RCCG HOUSE FELLOWSHIP MANUAL 12 NOVEMBER 2023

Seeth thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men (ordinary people) – Proverbs 22:29.

PRAYER POINTS

  1. Father, don’t let our actions retard Your plan for us Your children.

TODAY’S LESSON

Memory Verse: 1 Corinthians 9:26

I therefore so run, not as uncertainty; so fight, not as one that beateth the air.

Bible Text: 1 Samuel 17:26-27

26 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?

27 And the people answered him after this manner, saying, So shall it be done to the man that killeth him.

Lesson Introduction:

Destiny means your future which has been divinely planned to be great and full of glorious accomplishments.

Individual destiny has been aforementioned by Almighty God, which is the reason you have to fight to attain that glorious height God has designed for you.

In Exodus 2:1-3, the mother of Moses did initially fight for her son’s destiny before God took over.

In verse 3, the Bible says;
“And when she could no longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes…”

From the day someone is born, the fight to fulfill their destiny has begun.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 12 NOVEMBER 2023 SUNDAY: KEEP YOUR HEART

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 12 NOVEMBER 2023 MEMORIZE: A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. Matthew 12:35

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 12 NOVEMBER 2023 BIBLE READING PROVERBS 4:20-27

[20]My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

[21]Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

[22]For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

[23]Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

[24]Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

[25]Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

[26]Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

[27]Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 12 NOVEMBER 2023 MESSAGE

Keeping your heart is being careful of what you allow into your heart.

The Bible says that “out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks” (Luke 6:45).

If you do not think of positive things, you cannot speak positively.

As a child of God, it is not all information that you should take in, neither should you consider every piece of advice.

Be careful of what you allow into your heart.

The Bible says in Proverbs 23:7: “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee”.

What you think is who you are. If you always think of failure, you are bound to fail.

If you associate with friends who use vulgar words often, you will most likely use those words.

My dear child, when God is in your heart, you will think, act, and live right. Therefore, fill your heart with God’s word.

BIBLE QUIZ:
Recite John 14:6

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 12 NOVEMBER 2023 KEY POINT
