OPEN HEAVEN 9 OCTOBER 2018 –BEWARE OF DEFEATIST PRAYERS

MEMORIZE: Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still remain thine integrity? Curse God, and die. Job 2:9

Open Heaven 9 October 2018 Read Judges 16:24-31 (KJV)

24 And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which slew many of us.

25 And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.

26 And Samson said unto the lad that held him by the hand, Suffer me that I may feel the pillars whereupon the house standeth, that I may lean upon them.

27 Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport.

28 And Samson called unto the Lord, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.

29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.

30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.

31 Then his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the buryingplace of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years.

Prayer was established by God as a means of dialogue between Himself and His people. Our Lord Jesus Christ engaged in prayer in His lifetime and also taught His disciples how to pray (Matthew 14:23, Matthew 6:94 3). Click Here To Read – Open Heaven 10 October 2018

As His disciples today, we pray with the assurance of His promise in Matthew 21:22, which says:

“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”

The fact that our Lord engaged in all night prayer shows how significant prayer is (Luke 6:12). In Matthew 17:21, He revealed to us that some challenges in life may not be overcome without fervent prayers and fasting. God’s attitude and response to prayer differs based on the identity of the person praying. 1st Peter 3:12 says:

”For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the lord is against them that do evil.”

Based on this verse of Scripture, only those who are in right standing with God should expect answers to their prayers. If you have not received the gift of righteousness which comes from being born again, I implore you to give your life to Jesus today. I pray that every request you make to God as from today shall be answered by fire in Jesus’ name.

Open Heaven 9 October 2018

Despite the obvious power of prayer and the various examples of answered prayer in the Bible, certain circumstances threaten our very existence and shake the foundations of our faith, causing us to render defeatist prayers to God. A defeatist prayer is the kind of prayer made with an expectation of imminent failure, assumption of hopelessness and a resignation to fate. Click Here To Read – Open Heaven 8 October 2018

Defeatist prayers carry a belief that God cannot intervene in the situation at hand. May you never doubt the ability of God to save you in the time of trouble in Jesus’ name. In Job 2:9, Job’s case got so bad that he was given a defeatist option of cursing God and choosing death.

Similarly, after great exploits for God, followed by victories and celebrations, Elijah’s life was threatened a wicked queen called Jezebel. He became so distressed that he prayed this defeatist prayer in 1 Kings 1:4:

”…It is enough; now, 0 LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.”

In like manner, after the Lord departed from Samson, he lost everything, including his eyesight, and he began to grind corn for is enemies in captivity. This situation forced him to pray a defeatist prayer in Judges 16:30, saying

“Let me die with my enemies.”

Irrespective of what you are passing through, l encourage you to never render a defeatist prayer to God.

Although it might not be easy, remember that your faith is toughened when it passes through fire. Therefore, have faith in God and hold on to Him. Please don’t ever give up on God!

MY FAITH LOOKS UP TO THEE

My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamp of Calvary,
Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray
Take all my guilt away
Oh, let me from this day
Be wholly Thine!

May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart
My zeal inspire!
As Thou hast died for me,
Oh, may my love to Thee
Pure, warm, and changeless be,
A living fire!

While life’s dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread,
Be Thou my guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
From Thee aside

When ends life’s transient dream,
When death’s cold, sullen stream
Shall o’er me roll;
Blest Savior, then in love
Fear and distrust remove;
Oh, bear me safe above,
A ransomed soul!

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Read: James 4:13-15 (KJV)

13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

Open Heaven 10 October 2018 Bible in one year: Isaiah 48-50; Luke 4:14-37, Hymnal: sing hymn 4

Because God is the creator of all things in heaven and on earth, He holds supreme authority over everything, and He does whatever pleases Him (Psalm 135:6).

His desire is that every creature in heaven and on earth should do His will. The will of God is God’s plan and purpose for each entity in His creation at any given time. Only those who have submitted themselves to the Lordship of Jesus Christ can readily do God’s will from their heart (Psalm 40:8). There is only one person on earth who knows the will of God at any particular time, and 1 Corinthians 2:1 1 reveals that person:

”For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.”

Therefore, anyone who does not have the Holy Spirit dwelling in him or her can neither know nor be submissive to the will of God (1 Corinthians 2:14, Romans 8:7). Even if such people attend church meetings and worship services, they will still find the word of God and the lifestyle of His kingdom questionable, burdensome and even offensive.

Open Heaven 10 October 2018

Whenever an unconverted person is confronted with the will of God as revealed through His word, an antagonistic tension develops in their heart, which the conviction of the Holy Spirit works to douse.

Because the corrupt carnal nature of man sees itself as the master of the universe, human beings love to exercise their freewill over everything, including the forces of nature and even God’s divine power. This has led some people to erroneously see the power of the human freewill as being superior to God’s divine authority. Click Here To Read – Open Heaven 8 October 2018

However, children of God do not walk in this folly. As children of God, we recognize that the exercise of freewill outside the will of God is false freedom which leads to slavery and captivity to worldly pleasures, addictions, pride, inordinate ambition, immorality, and the like.

These are the very same things that Jesus sacrificed so much to deliver us from. Therefore, we submit our freewill to God in the process of discovering and following God’s purpose for our lives.

Any exercise of freedom that gives a person the liberty to live recklessly without due consideration for divine purpose and life after death 15 actually the freedom of fools. God’s will for His children is always good and in their best interest (Jeremiah 29:1 1). It is the essence of life and the only way by which we can fulfil our destiny. Click To Read – Open Heaven 9 October 2018

You can continually know God’s will for your life by discerning it in the place of prayer (Ephesians 5:17, Colossians 1:9). Your Heavenly Father expects you to ensure that His Will is done in your life, family, church and community (Matthew 6:10). Are you doing this?

Prayer Point: Father, I submit myself anew to the lordship of your Spirit. Please let your will be done in my life, in Jesus’ name.

TRUST AND OBEY

1. When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His word
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey

Chorus:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2. Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt nor a fear
Not a sigh nor a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3. Not a burden we bear,
Not a sorrow we share
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey.

4. But we never can prove
The delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favour He shows,
And the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5. Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do
Where He sends we will go
Never fear, only trust and obey.

A Psalm of David. LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill?
Psalm:15.2

Psalm:15.3

MEMORY VERSE: “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation”. -1 Peter 1:15.

INTRODUCTION:
The journey to holiness begins with a total submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit. God is holy and cannot condone sin. Isaiah 59:2 because everything about him is holy. 1 Peter 1:16. Hence, believers are commanded to live holy in order to be like God. Matthew 5:48. To fulfill this mandate, believers must understand the reasons for holy living and the benefits that accompany it. Open Heaven 7 October 2018

TEXT REVIEW: PSALMS 15:1-5 “HOLINESS OR NOTHING”
The Psalmist enumerated the requirements to enjoy constant fellowship with the Lord. The two (2) key words in verse 1, “abide” and “dwell” suggest intimate relationship and fellowship with God. Who is this person that would satisfy the conditions? The Amplified Bible version would be consulted as witness.

(i) He/she must be blameless (uprightly). Verse 2.

(ii) He/she must do justice and speak and think truth from the heart. Verse 2.

(iii) He/she must not slander. Verse 3.

(iv) He/she must not do evil to friend or reproach neighbor. Verse 3.

(v) He/she does not honour morally low or despicable person. Verse 4

(vi) He/she honours those who reverence and worship God. Verse 4.

(vii) What so ever he says, he is bound by it. Verse 4.

(viii) He/she does not put out his money for interest. Verse 5.

(ix) He/she does not take bribe against innocent. Verse 5.

Judging from the above requirements, you can determine those who are qualified to be truly called holy person and who deserve honour. Shake hands with one or two people and tell them: “I am More Than Conqueror”.

… And then you may be seated.

BIBLE TEXT: 1 KINGS 19: 1-8

1. And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done and withal how he had slain all the prophets with his sword.

2. Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah saying so let the gods do to me and more also if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.

3. And when he saw that, he arose and went for his life and came to Beersheba which belongeth to Judah and left his servant there.

4. But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now O LORD take away my life for I am not better than my fathers. Click Here To Read – Open Heaven 8 October 2018

5. And as he lay and slept under the juniper tree, behold then an angel touched him and said unto him, Arise and eat.

6. And he looked and behold there was a cake baken on the coals and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink and laid him down again.

7. And the angel of the LORD came again the second time and touched him and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.

8. And he arose and did eat and drink and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb, the Mount of God.

After tonight Meal in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, you will reach your goal – Amen!

I told you before that I used to be a boxer (though now I don’t look like one anymore but I used to be one before).

For your information, I still follow boxing very closely. So I want to say congratulations to Joshua for another Victory. My wife used to ask me if Joshua is my friend. Then I told her: Number 1, he is a boxer and Number 2 is that he loves pounded yam. Click Here To Read – Open Heaven 7 October 2018

In boxing, the last man standing is the Champion. After you do the fighting, it is possible that the opponent might even knock you down once or twice during the course of the fight. But provided that at the end of the fight, you are the one standing; then you are the Champion.

There was a long boxing bout between Elijah and Ahab.

In 1 Kings 17:1; that was when they fought the first round and Elijah won. Elijah came in and said to Ahab: As the Lord God of Israel liveth before whom I stand; there will be no rain or dew all these years except by my word. And immediately, the Heavens were shut – Elijah won round 1.

In 1 Kings 18: 1-40; Elijah won round 2. That was when Ahab gathered all the Prophets of Baal together. They cried to their god from morning to evening and nothing happened. And then Elijah came; called on his own God for just two (2) minutes and the fire fell. And all the prophets of Baal were all slain – round 2, Elijah won.

Then came round 3 in 1 Kings 19: 1-4 and Ahab supported by his wife Jezebel drove Elijah to the point of him asking God to kill him. Round 3, Ahab won.

Then there were many other rounds but because of our time, we will go straight to the Final Round in 1 Kings 21: 17-24. Here we saw Elijah confronting Ahab for the final round. And Ahab himself said that you have found me my enemy – Elijah said yes sir I have found you. And he promised him that dogs will lick your blood, dog will eat your wife.

By the time we get to 1 Kings 22: 34-38; the Prophesy came to pass. So Elijah won the final round. So that by the time we get to 2 Kings 2: 9-11; whereas, dogs licked Ahab’s blood and ate his wife; Elijah went by whirlwind to Heaven – he didn’t even die as he was the last man standing (The Champion).

And what makes the difference in the life of Elijah? What made him Indomitable?

It was a Meal!

A meal that we read in 1 Kings 19: 5-8 that God provided for Elijah turned him to an “Undefeated Champion”. He was not defeated in life and not even defeated by death because he didn’t die.

A meal can make the difference. In John 6: 53-54; Jesus Christ made it very clear what is that meal for you today – it is His Body and Blood.

So when we come to the Holy Communion; we are not here for an “Ordinary Meal” as I have said this over and over again.

We have come to the table of the Lord – a Meal that is provided by God Himself. The bread symbolising the body of Jesus Christ and the blood represented by the wine.

So when we eat tonight, we are simply telling the devil that it does not matter what you try; at the end of the day I will still be Standing, I will reach my Goal. And when all my enemies are gone and forgotten, I will still be Marching on.

… If that is you, let me hear your loud Amen – Amen!

So the Holy Communion is a “Sacred Meal”. There are people who may want to argue but you know I don’t respond to their arguments. I just say the truth because the Bible says that you cannot do something against the truth but only for the truth.

The Holy Communion is a Sacred Meal. It is called “The Lord’s Supper” and not the Lord’s Breakfast or the Lord’s Lunch. Take the Meal appropriately and correctly and it will make you Indomitable. If you eat that Meal broken for you, it will produce wealth.

If you drink that wine representing the blood shed for you; the Holy Spirit of God will begin to dwell within you. And as we will learn tomorrow (Friday, Holy Ghost Service) if the Lord tarries; if He is dwelling in you, nobody can hold you down.

So if you are here tonight and you are not yet born again; am calling on you now to come and surrender your life to Jesus Christ. So if you want to give your life to Jesus Christ, then come forward now and I will pray for your Salvation. The Almighty God will wash your sins away with His blood and then give you a brand New Beginning. Sinners don’t take the Holy Communion as it is a Sacred Meal. So you need to come now as I count from 1 to 4.

Those of you already infront talk to the Almighty God. Ask Him to have Mercy on you and save your soul.

And those of you on the way, pray as you come: Ask Him for Mercy, ask Him for the Forgiveness of your sin and ask Him to give you a brand New Beginning.

For the rest of us, please let us stretch our hands towards these people: Pray for them and intercede on their behalf. That the Almighty God who save your soul will also save their own souls too. Pray that God will give them a brand New Beginning.

… In Jesus Mighty Name we have prayed – Amen!

GO PRAYS: So Father, we want to say thank you. Thank you for your Words and thank you for these people who has come forward to surrender their lives to you. Father, please receive them in Jesus Name; have Mercy on them, let your blood wash away their sins, save their souls today Lord and write their names in the Book of Life. And am praying Lord that from now on; anytime they call on you; you will answer them by fire.

Thank you Almighty God for in Jesus Mighty Name we have prayed – Amen!

… Praise the Lord.

ADMINISTRATION OF THE HOLY COMMUNION

Now when you take the bread tonight; your cry to God is that every sickness, every disease that may still be hibernating in your body be uprooted tonight. Tell the Almighty God that Physically you want to be a Champion in Health even as you eat the bread you will be free from ache, pain and any form of diseases.

When they serve you the wine; you should hold on to it until everybody is served and we will all drink it together. When you drink the wine tonight, then you will cry to the Almighty God that everything waging war against your mind, everything within you that is trying to cause you to fail; be roasted by the Fire of the Holy Spirit tonight.

When you drink the wine and you pray that prayer with understanding; then you should go ahead and pray in the Holy Ghost that the Fire should begin now. If you have not been Baptised in the Holy Ghost, begin to pray, the Fire will begin to bugle in you and you too will pray in the Holy Spirit very soon.

… In Jesus Mighty Name we have prayed. So shall it be in Jesus Name!

THANKSGIVINGS:

Let us take an offering for the Lord. You cannot pay for the Blood that was shed for you. You cannot pay for the Body broken for you – tearing the Body into little pieces so that we can be saved (By His Stripes we are Healed).

But at least you can say thank you Lord: thank you for dying for me, thank you for being beaten for me, thank you for shedding your blood for me.

So let us take our Thanksgiving Offerings worthy of the Lord and then stand on your feet. Lift the Offerings up and say loud and clear that Father thank you for what you did for me.

… Just go ahead to thank Him and express how grateful you are to Him.

So with Joy in your heart, dance to the nearest basket to drop your Offering.

CLOSING PRAYERS

And so Father, we want to bless your Holy Name. Thank you for the Price that you Paid for our Healings, thank you for the Blood that you shed for us. Please accept our thanks in Jesus Name.

Tonight, everything that is called ache, pains, sickness or diseases in your children; uproot them in Jesus Name. Everything that is not of God within us waging war against our minds, souls and spirits; let your Fire consume tonight.

From this moments onwards my Father and my God; let nobody defeat your children.

Bless their Offerings Lord, Sanctify it and Financially speaking let them be Indomitable.

And I pray Lord God Almighty that by the time we come for the Holy Ghost Service tomorrow; all these your children will have Testimonies.

Thank you Almighty God. For in Jesus Mighty Name we have prayed – Amen!

… If you are More than a Conqueror; let me hear you shout a loud Hallelujah – Hallelujah!!!

OPEN HEAVEN 8 OCTOBER 2018 – OFFENCES

OPEN HEAVEN 8 OCTOBER 2018 MEMORIZE: woe unto the world because of offences! For it must needs be that offenses come; but woe to the man by whom the offense cometh! Mathew 18:7

Open Heaven 8 October 2018 Read: Mathew 18:1-7 (KJV)

1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?

2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,

3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

Our Lord Jesus Christ spoke in very strong terms against offences in today’s Bible reading. I therefore believe it is a wise thing for us to understand what they are and try to avoid them. Offence is a biblical term which refers to an obstruction lying on a pathway over which one may stumble.

It is anything that binders and tends to trip one up in the course of living a righteous life. A hindrance in this regard often stands or temptations to sin. One source of offences that was mentioned by the Lord in His sermons is the cravings of our body (Matthew 18:8-9). Click Here To Read – Open Heaven 7 October 2018

Another source which He also mentioned are the people we interact with on a day to day basis (Matthew 18:7, Romans 16:17). The Lord made it clear that a life without any obstacle, hindrance, stumbling block or temptation is impossible, but that anyone who places obstacles in other people’s path or who leads others into sin is already cursed by God (Luke 17:1).

Jesus declared that great sorrow awaits them, so that it would have been better if they were not even born. All those who are behind ‘our problems in life shall run into the wrath of the Almighty God in Jesus’ Name.

Some people have mastered the art of setting traps for others, and they themselves have become a living trap, supporting anything that ensnares or hinders people from pleasing God and deriving satisfaction from causing people to stumble.

They ensnare unsuspecting and ignorant people, and mislead innocent an immature Christians into fatal errors that lead to hell. Greedy for money, power and fame, they consciously build an army of loyal followers in order to exert their influence on them.

They falsely appear as saints and subtly present another “gospel” that is completely different from the gospel of Jesus Christ. Their message is built on human wisdom and understanding but carefully wrapped in a garb of spirituality.

They have a warped understanding of the Bible, which they present as new revelations from God or “prophetic preaching”. Their message of easy-going Christianity has led many people into worldly lifestyles and complacency in holy living through their activities, many have missed the high mark of God’s calling.

You will notice that some of these offenders are experienced pastors who are knowledgeable in the things of God but deliberately mislead others. Therefore, be warned about the existence of such characters within the Church of God. Watch carefully to prevent yourself from falling into their trap. 1 pray that the rod of the wicked one shall not fall upon your portion, and you will not be led away from the presence of God in Jesus’ Name.

NEARER MY GOD TO THEE

Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee;
E’ en though it be a cross
That raiseth me,
Still all my song shall be
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee.

Though, like a wanderer
The sun gone down,
Darkness comes over me,
My rest a stone;
Yet in my dreams I’d be
Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer to Thee.

There let me see the sight,
An open heaven;
All that thou sendest me,
In mercy given;
Angles to beckon me
Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer to Thee

Then, with my walking thoughts
Bright with Thy praise,
Out of my stony griefs
Bethel I’ll raise,
So by my woes to be
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee
