For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain Philippians 1:21
5 Then Esther summoned Hathak, one of the king’s eunuchs assigned to attend her, and ordered him to find out what was troubling Mordecai and why.
6 So Hathak went out to Mordecai in the open square of the city in front of the king’s gate.
7 Mordecai told him everything that had happened to him, including the exact amount of money Haman had promised to pay into the royal treasury for the destruction of the Jews.
8 He also gave him a copy of the text of the edict for their annihilation, which had been published in Susa, to show to Esther and explain it to her, and he told him to instruct her to go into the king’s presence to beg for mercy and plead with him for her people.
9 Hathak went back and reported to Esther what Mordecai had said. 10 Then she instructed him to say to Mordecai,
11 “All the king’s officials and the people of the royal provinces know that for any man or woman who approaches the king in the inner court without being summoned the king has but one law: that they be put to death unless the king extends the gold scepter to them and spares their lives. But thirty days have passed since I was called to go to the king.”
12 When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai,
13 he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape.
14 For if you remain silent at this time, reliefand deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
15 Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai:
16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”
It is important for everyone to know what he or she Is living for. When you do not live for something, you will exist for anything – good , bad or ugly. Due to the nature of man, it takes determination to live for good (Ecclesiastes 9:3, Romans 7:21-24). Open Heaven 31 May 2018
Those who live for God live for good, while those who live for the devil live for evil. In Ecclesiastes 12:13b-14, the Holy spirit reveals the essence of our living to us when he said :
“Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgement, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”
The question today is: What are you living for?
Esther 4:5-16 tells the story of a young lady who decided to live for God and his people. She was ready to die if only the will of God would be done in her life through it. Despite the fact that she was a queen. She declared,
“if I perish, I perish” (Esther 4:16).
In a similar situation, the book of Daniel tells of how three Hebrew boys disobeyed the decree of the King Nebuchadnezzar when he wanted to lead them into idolatry. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were willing to be thrown into the fiery furnace in order to obey their God (Daniel 3:16-18).
Today’s memory verse offers an answer to the question of what we should live for. When we decide to live for Christ , everything will gall into place spiritually, and when we are settled spiritually, other aspects of our lives whll receive meaning and fulfilment. This is the reason why our Lord Jesus Christ said in Matthew 6:31-33
“Therefore take no thought, saying, what shall we eat?or, what shall we drink?or, wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Some people live for the food they will eat, the clothes they will wear, the house they will live in and the car they will ride in, all at the expense of their soul. However, if you hearken diligently to the words of the Lord to seek Him and live for Him, everything else will follow.
Verse 1:
In a believer’s ear!
It soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds,
And drives away his fear.
Verse 2:
It makes the wounded spirit whole,
And calms the troubled breast;
’Tis manna to the hungry soul,
And to the weary, rest.
Verse 3:
Jesus! My Shepherd, Husband, Friend,
O Prophet, Priest and King,
My Lord, my Life, my Way, my End,
Accept the praise I bring.
Verse 4:
Weak is the effort of my heart,
And cold my warmest thought;
But when I see Thee as Thou art,
I’ll praise Thee as I ought.
Verse 5:
Till then I would Thy love proclaim
With every fleeting breath,
And may the music of Thy Name
Refresh my soul in death!
1.Thank you, Father, for it is by your mercies, that I have not been consumed.
2.Thank you, Father, for your mercies that have kept me alive and in faith, till now.
3.Father, in anyway I have fallen short of your glory, please, have mercy and forgive me, in Jesus’ name.
4.Father, have mercy upon me, according to your loving kindness; according unto the multitude of your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions, in Jesus’ name.
5.Father, please, fill my heart with your tender mercy and a hunger for souls, in Jesus’ name.
6.Father, as a recipient of your mercy and compassion, please, give me the grace to extend same to others, in Jesus’ name.
7.Father, let all the works of the devil be completely destroyed in my life, in Jesus’ name.
8.Father, where you have purposed me to reach in life, please, take me there by your mercy, no matter the level of opposition, in Jesus’ name.
9.Father, let every mark of bondage, slavery and oppression upon my life be removed today by your mercy, in Jesus’ name.
10.Father, release upon my life, mercy, that my children and children’s children, will be able to identify with, and walk in, in Jesus’ name.
11.Father, let your covenant of mercy be renewed daily upon Pastor E.A. Adeboye, and his family, in Jesus’ name.
12.Your Personal petitions.
( Philippians 4:6)
13.In Jesus’ name I pray.
(John 14:13-14; 15:16)
14.Thank you Father for answered prayers.
(1 Thessalonians 5:18).
Open Heaven 31 May 2018 Thursday – DRY BONES SHALL LIVE AGAIN
Open Heaven 31 May 2018 Memorise: Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: John 11:25
Read: Ezekiel 37:1-10 Open Heaven 31 May 2018
1 The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,
2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.
4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.
5 Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.
8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.
9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord God; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.
10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

Hymnal: Sing hymn 3
We bless God for the success we’ve recorded in out lives throughout the month of May. See you in June
Bones are often associated with dead bodies with death itself. Dry human bones symbolises a human body that has been dead for an extended period of time: in some cases, for hundred or thousand of years. By this time, it is impossible for anyone in the right frame of mind to contemplate any means by which such bones will come back to life again.
This was the situation in the valley of dry bones when God asked Ezekiel, “Son of man, can these bones live?” Knowing well that it was impossible by any human means for that he was standing before the One that created the universe by the power of His word, Ezekiel tactically answer by saying “O Lord God, thou knowest. “Then the Lord asked the prophet to prophecy to the bones, and in Ezekiel 37:7, as soon as he prophesied, this happened:
“…there was a noise, and behold a shaking and the bones came together, bone to his bone.”
I therefore prophesy to everything that stands as dry bones in your life and to every symbol of death in your family; hear the word of the Lord: Be restore back to life now in the Name of Jesus.
In Ezekiel’s vision of dry bones brought back to life by God’s Spirit, the resurrection of the bones is used as a symbol. Ezekiel’s vision is not directly related to life after death, but rather with the salvation of God’s people from captivity and exile.
Some people are locked up in a strange land, enjoying the pleasures of sin. Some are addicted to harmful behaviours, burdened by their conscience and far away from the Spirit of God sends the breath of life into them; their return to their Creator can be likened to new life rising from the grave.
To anyone that is in bondage, captivity or exile, to anyone that has been displaced from his or her position, to anyone that is being told that he or she has reached a point of no return in life, I decree once again: Let there be a noise and a shaking from heaven that will set you free from now on in Jesus’ Name. The dry bones were sitting quietly in their forgotten state, fully surrendered to the power of death that held them bound. They were without any hope until God told Ezekiel to prophesy to them. One more time, I prophesy that the wind of the Holy Spirit will blow against every agent of death that is holding your life and destiny bound right now in the Name of Jesus. This marks the beginning of real progress in your life, and henceforth you will be unstoppable in Jesus’ Name.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TEENS AND CHILDREN WEDNESDAY 30TH MAY 2018: ARE YOU DISTRACTED?
MEMORISE: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15
Please read: Romans 12:2
MESSAGE:
Distractions, little as they may seem, are very dangerous. Sometimes distractions come from people around us, sometimes they come from the devil and sometimes we cause distractions for ourselves.
When you are reading your books, and your phone beeps to signal you that someone just commented on your Facebook post, then you pick up your phone to read the comment and for the next 30 minutes, you
are still on Facebook, then you have distracted your own self. Next time when you want to read, put your phone in silent or airplane mode, then you will not be distracted by it again.
Sometimes it is the devil that brings thoughts to your mind while you are praying, studying your Bible or even reading your books. He could just bring a thought to your mind and for the next thirty minutes, you
stop that important thing you are doing and concentrate on that thought. Next time when such thought come, say to the devil with determination; “get thee behind me Satan” and he will go.
Texting while walking on the road or driving is a distraction that can lead to an accident; chatting in the middle of a class is a distraction that can lead to failure. Don’t be distracted.
PRAYER POINT:
Lord Jesus Christ, keep my heart pure and free from distractions. Help me to be focused on my eternal destination.

Hymn 16
1. Christian, seek not yet repose,
Hear thy gracious Savior say;
Thou art in the midst of foes:
Watch and pray.2. Principalities and power,
Mustering their unseen array,
Wait for the unguarded hours:
Watch and pray.3. Gird the heavenly armor on,
Wear it ever night and day;
Ambushed lies the evil one:
Watch and pray.4. Hear the victors who o’ercame,
Still they mark each warriors’s way;
All with one sweet voice exclaim,
Watch and pray.5. Hear, above all, hear thy Lord,
Him thou lovest to obey;
Hide within thy heart His word:
Watch and pray.6. Watch, as if on that alone
Hung the issue of the day;
Pray, that help may be sent down:
Watch and pray.
Memorise: For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. Hosea 6:6
Read: Matthew 18:23-35 (KJV)
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
Bible in one year: 1st Kings 8, Acts 2:29-47,
Mercy is an attitude of compassion, care and concern, grounded in love and sympathy towards others. It is God’s nature that is fundamental to His interaction with His Creatures. As one of God’s attributes, mercy is also a key character He demands from His people. Our compassion towards others as Christians is usually activated by God’s compassion for people.
It is expected that those who have received mercy from God would respond to human suffering with much concern and work to ameliorate this suffering. Apostle Paul recognised that his conversion from a life of rebellion against God and his subsequent call to the ministry was a product of God’s mercy. Here is his testimony in 1st Timothy 1:13
“Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.”
For this reason, he had so much passion to propagate God’s mercy to others through the gospel of reconciliation (2nd Corinthians 5:18-20).
In today’s Bible reading, a servant who owed ten thousand talents was pardoned by his master, but as soon as he left the presence of his master, he met a fellow servant who owed him a hundred pence. He exacted the full force of his power on this poor fellow servant without mercy, casting him into prison. When this matter got to his master, in Matthew 18:33, his master simply asked him:
“Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowsarvant, even as I had pit on thee?
This clearly indicates to us that we are beneficiaries of the great mercy of God so that we also can become dispensers of this same mercy to all those who come in contact with us.
Apostle Paul valued his conversion as a product of great mercy, so much so that he spoke about mercy more than any individual in the Bible. His messages, interactions with people and handing of situations were based on the backdrop of God’s mercy.
God’s people who are beneficiaries of His great mercy are expected to be channels of divine mercy in the church and in the world.
That is the reason why in Jesus’ teachings about the kingdom of God, He presents mercy as a primary characteristic of God’s kind of life and as a demonstration of His sovereignty. The power of love embedded in the message of the gospel speaks of God’s mercy, while transforming the lives of men by destroying the works of the devil demonstrates this mercy. Mercy ultimately leads to hunger for souls and to handling the people of God with tender care.
Prayer Point
Father, please fill my heart with Your tender mercy and a hunger for souls in Jesus’ Name.

WONDERFUL STORY OF LOVE
Wonderful story of love;
Tell it to me again;
Wonderful story of love;
Wake the immortal strain!
Angles with rapture announce
It,
Shepherds with wonder receive
it;
Sinner, oh, won’t you believe it?
Wonderful story of love.Chorus:
Wonderful! Wonderful!
Wonderful, Wonderful story of love.
Wonderful story of love;
Though you are far away;
Wonderful story of love;
Still He doth call today;
Calling from Calvary’s
Mountain,
Down from the crystal-bright
fountain,
E’en from the dawn of creation,
Wonderful story of love.Wonderful story of love;
Jesus provides a rest;
Wonderful story of love;
For all the pure and blest,
Rest in those mansions above
us, With those who’ve gone on
before us,
Singing the rapturous chorus,
Wonderful story of love.
