I will give thanks to the Lord for He is good an His mercies are forever. Thank You Lord for a new month.

Thank you father for Your everlasting love with which You love me. I am so grateful father. I glorify You forever in Jesus’ Name.

Father, please forgive me shortcomings and wash me clean from sin. Help me not to return to the gutters in Jesus’ name.

Father, help me to come into the full understanding of Your love for me. Let this understanding open my eyes and help me to naturally respond to You and begin to love You in return and then become free from all the shackles of this sinful world in Jesus’ name.

Today’s Bible reading is about a rich man who had planned to take rest and enjoy his enormous wealth. Unfortunately, he didn’t live to actualize the plan because he died that same night. This intimates that money cannot guarantee some things such as life, qood health, peace, et cetera.

I was once invited to preach in the house of an influential person in Nigeria. I had prepared a message on “Why you need a miracle”, but when I got to the house and saw the magnitude of wealth displayed, I decided to change the title of my sermon to “Oh that men would praise the Lord.” God insisted on the initial title and I obeyed.

When I made the altar call, a boy stepped forward and surrendered his life to Jesus. After the sermon, I was told that the boy was the only son of the family and he was a drug addict who had brought a lot of trouble to his mother.

Every plan devised to help him before then failed, but the boy got his deliverance on that day. My dear, all that you need for a successful life is in Jesus. When you have Him, you will have what money can and cannot buy.

OPEN HEAVEN 19 MAY 2023 MESSAGE

Love is foundational to the Christian faith. When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment is, His answer was: Love God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind and love your neighbour as yourself. He then went further to say, on these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets” (Matthew 22:36-40).

True love is in the DNA of every genuine child of God. Anyone who claims to be a Christian and does not have love as one of his or her characteristics is nothing (1 Corinthians 13:1-2).

If there is true love, then it implies that there is false love. True love is empathetic in nature. True love does not do good for people to see, it does good because it feels the pain of the one who is loved. In our Bible reading for today, James says if you truly love someone, you would do everything within your power to solve their problems.

Unfortunately, these days, when many Christians see another who they can help, they would rather pray to God to help the fellow than help him or her themselves. That is fake love. True love is when you make sacrifices to help your brother or sister and do all you can to ensure their problems are solved.

Some years ago, after a major programme, I was so tired that I just wanted to get on my bed and sleep, but as I was leaving the venue in my car, I heard the voice of a man shouting, “Daddy help me, Daddy help me”. I wanted to stop my driver immediately, but I knew that if we stopped there, the crowd would rush to the car. I therefore asked my driver to allow me come out of the car at a place where I could wait, then go back to get the man.

When the man arrived, he told me he had no job and his wife, who had been fending for the family before, had also just lost her job. They had a set of twins and all four of them had not eaten for three days. The first thing I did was to ask someone to bring food for them before we could continue the conversation. By the end of that day, both husband and wife had jobs.

Love is demonstrated through our actions. Brethren, do you truly love others as you love yourself? Without true love for your neighbour, you cannot make it to heaven (Matthew 25:35-46).

OPEN HEAVEN 18 MAY 2023 MESSAGE

The Bible takes the subject of love so seriously that it is equated with the sum of all the commandments of God (Matthew 22:36-40). The Bible goes further to say that love is the fulfilment of the law (Romans 13:10). The use of the word ‘Law’ in the Bible, is usually a reference to all the commandments and statutes recorded in the Old Testament. Now, the reality that God equates love to the whole of the Old Testament Bible is serious food for thought.

The Bible in (1 Corinthians 13:1-2) says: Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

The passage above speaks clearly about the importance of love and how children of God should rate it on the scale of spirituality. Here, God compared some special spiritual gifts of uncommon value to love. Speaking in the tonques of men and angels means the ability to speak in heavenly tongues as well as interpreting it in the language of men.

The interpretation of tongues has always been a rare gift that is highly sought after in the body of Christ, yet anyone with this gift without having love is described as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal – viewed by God as a mere noisemaker.

Furthermore, the Bible says if one should have the gift of prophecy, understand all mysteries and have all knowledge, with enough faith to do great miracles, without love, such a person would amount to nothing in the eyes of God. Love is the golden rule by which whatever gifts we exhibit and whatever services we offer to God are measured.

Therefore, love is the ultimate commandment. Romans 13:10 says, “Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law”. The service that pleases God is one from the heart, rendered in love. God is love. If you are born again, you have the capacity to manifest the agape love. It is a compulsory virtue in Christianity.

We overcome the spirit of untimely death by the blood of Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, and by the words of our testimony.

Beloved, the wickedness in this world is increasing every day. Begin to blast in the spirit, the devil is hovering everywhere looking for what to steal, kill and destroy. But He will not come near you and your household, only with your eyes you will see the reward of the wicked.

Father, I come before Your throne of mercy to ask for forgiveness. Dear Lord, have mercy on me and my household and hear my cry in Jesus’ name.

In the name of Jesus the Lion of Judah, He who has triumphed over temptation and sin, over pain and suffering, over fear, and over death: I shall not die but live to declare the works of God in the land of the living in Jesus’ name. Psalms 118:17

No devil or demonic force from anywhere and of any level can appoint a day for my death! My life is in Christ Jesus and God’s promises for my life are good and not ultimately death, in the mighty name of Jesus. Jeremiah 29:11

I am not ignorant of principalities and powers in high places, but my God is bigger than them all. Today, I mark myself with the mark of Christ, all their efforts to end my life and my loved ones are terminated right now in the mighty name of Jesus. 2 Corinthians 2:11

By the precious blood of Jesus Christ, I wipe out my name and the names of my loved ones from any demonic register of untimely death, in the mighty name of Jesus.

By the power in the name of Jesus Christ, I nullify every evil enchantment from the grave targeted to my family and household, in Jesus’ name.

I will not sleep the sleep of death; I will not run the race of death and I will not fall unto death in Jesus’ name. Psalms 13:3, Act 20:9.

No weapon of death fashioned against me shall prosper and any evil that rises up against me in judgment shall be condemned, in the name of Jesus Christ, Lion of Judah.

Every terminal sickness programmed to take my precious life before my time, I will not die. Because the Spirit of God that is in my life is greater than any infirmity and schemes of the devil, in the mighty name of Jesus.

No ancestral covenant of untimely death from my lineage or region has power over my life and household. Because I have pledged my allegiance to God of the Bible and I am covered by the covenant of the Blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross of Calvary, Hallelujah!

Anyone who attempts to take any part of my body or has done that already, to initiate an evil covenant and invoke the spirit of untimely death over me, it will not work in Jesus’ name. I am covered by the blood of the lamb. Victory belongs to Jesus. Hallelujah!

Oh God of mercy deliver my soul from death and keep me alive in famine, satisfy me with long life in Jesus’ name.

By the power of the Holy Ghost, I lose myself from any appointment with sudden death in Jesus’ name.

God wants you to rest.

Today’s Powerful Confession: I confess today that I enjoy God’s rest which is divinely ordained, refreshing, and rewarding. I ensure I incorporate rest into my schedule no matter how tight it may be. I decree and declare that this is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it in Jesus’ name.

I decree and declare that I receive the blessing of Abraham through Jesus Christ; I receive and enjoy the promise of the Spirit through faith, in Jesus’ name.

I decree and declare that I find time to rest frequently from my labor and I come back refreshed in Jesus’ name.

I decree and declare that every challenge or difficulty making it hard for me to rest is taken away and ease is brought into my life in Jesus’ name.

OPEN HEAVEN 17 MAY 2023 BIBLE READING NUMBERS 8:23-26

23 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

24 This is it that belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation:

25 And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service thereof, and shall serve no more:

26 But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.

OPEN HEAVEN 17 MAY 2023 MESSAGE

Rest is very important to God. He rested on the seventh day after completing the work of creation and also blessed the day specially (Genesis 2:1-3). God went on to design various categories of rest periods for man.

In Exodus 35:2, God ordained a weekly Sabbath of rest that was observed on the seventh day in the Old Testament. In Leviticus 25:4-5, God also ordained a seventh year Sabbath of rest when the land will not be cultivated, the people and animals will also take their rest from farming activities for a whole year.

Surprisingly, Exodus 31:14 says, “Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people”. Rest is so important to God that He places a heavy penalty on defaulters.

Despite the observance of these holidays, the Nation of Israel continued to be more prosperous than their neighbours that did not have the tradition of taking any rest. This is due to the word of God in Psalm 127:1: “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain”. Therefore, working around-the-clock everyday will not make you richer or more productive.

Jesus Christ showed us the importance of taking good rest in Mark 6:31, when He told the disciples after their very first missionary tour, “Come ye apart and rest for a while”. David almost died in battle because he failed to rest. His commanders later said, “Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel” (2 Samuel 21:15-17). Many people, even ministers of God, are dying from stress-induced health challenges due to lack of adequate rest.

Brethren, rest is divinely ordained, refreshing and rewarding. I personally ensure I incorporate rest into my itinerary no matter how tight my schedule may be. Indeed, you’ll even be more productive after resting adequately. Beloved, just as God wants you to be diligent, He also wants you to rest adequately.

Before a bad habit is formed, it starts with thoughts and suggestions that seem harmless. Is there a character flaw that people around you complain about? You need to check it and make amends before it destroys you. In today’s Bible reading, Jesus made it clear that a person is defiled by what comes from within them. This is equally true for bad habits.

As a child of God, do not let your habits bring reproach to God. Bad habits can ruin a person’s life and prevent him/her from achieving God’s plan and purpose as he/she grows. For example, Samson loved women despite his parents’ warnings: he fell for a strange woman who discovered the secret of his strength and handed him over to the enemies. He eventually died with them.

Another example is Judas, who loved money too much. His love for it made Him betray His Master, and his end was terrible. Watch that bad habit so that it will not destroy your destiny.
