Food is a gift from God, I can’t imagine a world without pounded yam and vegetable soup. God gave us crops and herbs for our own good, however, nothing is to be abused. Abusing food is the cause of many health challenges.

For example, excess intake of carbohydrates can make one overweight, excess intake of sugary things or junk can lead to diabetes eating too much fatty foods can lead to heart issues, et cetera.

Therefore, it is important to eat a balanced diet: have a combination of all the classes of food (carbohydrate, protein, minerals, vitamins, fats and water) in your meals. Also, note that it is not healthy to eat late at night, eat your dinner between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

Just as it is dangerous to overeat, it is also dangerous to undereat. When you don’t eat as you ought to, you will be malnourished. You can also suffer from stomach ulcers. Therefore, don’t eat excessively, neither should you undereat. Make sure there is a balance in everything you do.

OPEN HEAVEN 2 MAY 2023 MESSAGE

I have come to discover from my walk with God that He usually promotes the most unlikely people. Our Bible reading for today tells us that the people who qualify for God’s promotion are usually those considered foolish, weak, little and unimportant. These are the kind of people God usually lifts up because He does not want anyone to take His glory. He does not want anyone thinking it was their achievements that made God choose them for promotion.

God chose Saul as the first king of Israel, even though the young man considered himself unworthy (1 Samuel 9:21). When Saul disobeyed and God wanted to promote someone else to his position, He sent Samuel to anoint one of Jesse’s sons.

When Samuel asked Jesse to bring all his sons, David was not summoned because he was considered the least important among his sons. Jesse obviously thought there was absolutely no way David could be chosen as king, but that was exactly the fellow that God chose. God does not choose those who think they are wise, He chooses the foolish.

The moment you think you are the best man for the job, God actually sees you as the worst. You cannot succeed at any divine assignment by your own power and might but only by His Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).

Anytime I travel and have the opportunity to speak with ministers in any nation, they always have one thing that they want me to address and that is the lack of unity amongst them. I often explain to them that the challenge is not that they do not want to be united; rather, it is a question of who will be the leader once they are united? I often go further to say, “If you realise that God usually chooses the foolish one to be the head, you won’t want to be that fellow, because being the head makes it obvious to everyone that you must be the most foolish of them all!”.

Beloved, if you realise that God will only choose the weak, the base, then you won’t struggle for positions. Keep doing exploits from whatever position you find yourself and rely completely on God as your source of help and direction. In due course, He will promote you far beyond your expectations.

MAY 1 DAILY DECLARATION

9. I decree and declare that in this new month, God will make a way for me where there seems to be no way, and I will be promoted beyond my wildest dreams, in the mighty name of Jesus – Isaiah 43:19.

10. I decree and declare that I am more than a conqueror through Christ who strengthens me through this new month, and nothing can stop me from achieving my goals, in the mighty name of Jesus – Romans 8:37.

11. I decree and declare that I will not be anxious about anything in this new month, but I will pray with thanksgiving and trust in God’s provision for my promotion, in the mighty name of Jesus – Philippians 4:6-7.

12. I decree and declare that God’s grace is sufficient for me in May 2023, and His power is made perfect in my weakness. I will boast in my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me, in Jesus’ name  – 2 Corinthians 12:9-10.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR OF OPEN HEAVEN 2023

Enoch A Adeboye was born 2nd March 1942 in Ifewara, Osun State, Nigeria. He is the General Overseer of the of the Redeemed Christian Church of God

Went to Illesha Grammar school in Osun state, Nigeria.  His passion for Mathematics landed him into the University of Nsukka to study Mathematics. He later got transferred to University of Ibadan due to the civil war. He successfully earned a Bachelor degree in Mathematics in 1967.

He proceeded to the University of Lagos, where he earned a PHD and became a Lecturer with the University of Lagos.

In 1973, Pastor E A Adeboye officially joined RCCG.

OPEN HEAVEN 1 MAY 2023 MEMORIZE: He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dung hill. That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people. Psalm 113:7-8

5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.

6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

OPEN HEAVEN 1 MAY 2023 MESSAGE

Our Bible reading says clearly that God is the One who promotes. God alone is the One who promotes – no other person can, not even the so-called godfathers. Striving for positions and receiving titles do not amount to being promoted.

Saul still had the title ‘king’ for several years after God had already rejected him and anointed David in his place. This was why he was helpless before Goliath while David who had been anointed to take his place defeated the giant. When you read (1 Samuel 18:7), you see from the song of the women and children that they had a higher regard for David than Saul even though Saul was still considered the king.

Now that it is clear that God is the one who promotes, the next question is: Who are the people that God usually chooses for promotion? (1 Samuel 2:7-8) says:

The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up. He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and he hath set the world upon them.

God can pick up a beggar from the dunghill and begin to promote him until he starts dining with kings. God can promote anyone and my prayer for you today is that your promotion will come rapidly, in Jesus’ name. No one is out of reach for divine promotion. No matter how low you are now, God can still promote you to a place so high that it would beat the imagination of the whole world when they hear your story. If you want God to promote you, you must be one person that He is sure will do His will when you get promoted.

And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will. (Acts 13:22).

Can God count on you to fulfil His will after He has promoted you? If your answer is ‘yes’ then get ready for a divinely arranged promotion.

One blessing I received as a young boy was having a mother who pushed me hard. I remember she would send me on several errands and not tolerate any complaints.

Whenever I returned from an errand, she would say, “Adejare, whenever you call one person, 200 will answer you.” This prayer was a motivating factor to do anything for my mom. To the glory of God, her prayers are being answered today.

Dear child, if your parents give you tasks, do them with joy. It is in your best interest to cooperate with them, especially if they are born again and Spirit-filled. However, if you don’t have this kind of home support, you have to push yourself forward.

Even if you are from a wealthy home, the wealth must not end with your generation; it must increase and transcend to your children and generations after you. Therefore, you cannot be lazy: be hardworking. Set godly targets for Yourself, surpass them, and keep improving.

Father, grant me grace and strength to have dominion over sleep. Take away every ailment and weakness that makes me tired and unable to go on vigils. May sleep not dominate me in Jesus’ name.

Lord, please grant m control and dominion over my body. May I have rule over every single part of it, deciding what they do and what they don’t. Help me to make the right decisions and only allow things that are in line with Your will for me in Jesus’ name.

Lord, please help me to have complete dominion over every aspect of my life and body, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Father, let Your will be done in my life in Jesus’ name.

Lord, help me never to relax or relent in my pursuit of You. May I never become complacent and begin to retrogress in Jesus mighty name.

Father, help me to arise and keep going higher in You. Help me Lord to achieve the great feats You have for me in the name of Jesus.

Father, help me not to stop praying, working hard, and making sacrifices; may I not become less than You created me to be in the name of Jesus.

Father, help me not to relax until I get to the point You want to take me to in Jesus mighty name.

Lord, bless Your son Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye for all his years of continual service, remember him, guide him on the path, help him remain focused, bless his entire household, and fulfill all Your promises for their liberation and ministry, Lord of peace, may You grant him and his family peace at all times and in every way (2 Thess. 3:16). May You equip him with everything good for doing Your will, and may You work in him what is pleasing to You, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. I ask You to deliver him from people who have wrong motives, I also pray that he will have joy in his ministry; and that he will always feel strong and refreshed in his spirit, soul, and body. in Jesus’ name.

TODAY LESSON :
A. MEMORY VERSE: Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days. Ecclesiastes 11:1

B. BIBLE TEXT: MALACHI 3:8-11

8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

LESSON INTRODUCTION : Regular and faithful payment of tithes, offerings and first fruits is mandatory because God commanded it.
This are God’s provisions to bless his sons and daughters

OFFERING

Offerings are gifts we offer to God willingly from our hearts in appreciation for offering to be acceptable to God and to attract God’s blessings,it most possibly be given.

1. Regularly: 1 cor 16:2

2. Cheerfully and willingly: 2 Cor.9:7, 2 Cor.8:12

3. Sacrificially:2 cor.8:3-4

4. Abundantly:2 cor.9:6

TITHES

Tithes is the tenth of all income, wages, profit, gifts etc .God commanded payment of tithes Lev.27:30-32.

1. Abraham paid tithe and his seed which are must pay tithes. Rom.4:11-12, Gal.3:29, Gen.14:18-20.

2. God commanded Israel to pay tithes. Lev.27:30-32, Num.18:21-24.

3. Jesus commanded payment of tithes. Matt.23:23, Luke 18:12.

4. God commends his blessings on tithes.Mal 3:11

5. Non -payment of tithes attract curses.3:9.

6. Tithes should be paid in church/perish where you receive spiritual nourishment

FIRSTFRUITS

First fruit are first fruit of increase Prov.9:3 ( difference between old and new salary), first fruit of sacrifice (first salary in office or year January), Gen.22:15-18 and redemption of the first male child.Ex.13:13

BENEFITS OF FIRST FRUITS ARE:

1. God promised to fill you with abundant and new blessings.Prov.3:9-10.

2. God promised to bless your children Gen.25:15-18, Gen.24:25-36.

3. God will fill you with material blessings 1kings 3:3-14.

CONCLUSION: Our God says only what he will do-Num 23:19.He will honuor his word to bless and protect us and our generations once we obediently give our offerings, tithes and first fruits.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord , please help me to be diligent in the giving of my offerings.

2. Lord, please help me to give my offerings with the heart of appreciation.

3. Lord, please help the RCCG members to pay their tithes fruitfully and with Joy.

4. Lord, please help me to present my first fruits to you faithfully.

5. Lord, please honour your word in my life and bless me as I faithfully give my offerings, and pay my tithes and first fruits.

GOLDEN DIET FOR WEEK

MONDAY: Mal. 3:10-12. Pray that as you pay your tithes all the blessings pertaining to tithing shall be your portion this week.

TUESDAY: Act 20:35b, it is more blessed to give.

WEDNESDAY: Prov.3:9, father let me not experience lack of any kind this year in Jesus name.

THURSDAY: Ask God for grace to always pay our tithes and first fruits.

FRIDAY: Pray that every satanic teaching against tithing to keep people in bondage be distroyed.

SATURDAY: There shall be showers of blessings.

SUNDAY: Obedient is better than sacrifice.
