King Solomon is said to be the wisest king that ever lived. That means no king is as wise as he was, even till now. He became the wisest because he had the fear of God. He understood that his wisdom was foolishness to God.

He assumed the throne early and was smart enough to know that the elders that surrounded him were likely to mislead him, and he didn’t want to incur God’s wrath. So, he took a wise step by asking God for wisdom when he was given a blank cheque to ask for anything.

This is something many people will consider foolish as they would most likely have requested for material things if they were in Solomon’s shoes. King Solomon’s request made God bless Him beyond what he asked for.

It was also the wisdom gotten from the fear of God that made Joseph refrain from sleeping with Potiphar’s wife. It is wisdom to run away from sin. Beloved, get this wisdom and don’t engage in sin.

A sluggard refuses to make efforts: he/she will always hope for tomorrow and do nothing today. It is so unfortunate that many young people are sleeping away their destinies these days. Proverbs 6:9 says: “How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? When will thou arise out thy sleep?” Lazy people love to sleep too much; this is why they are rarely far from their beds.

To them, sleep is an end, while to a hard-working person, sleep revives and renews one’s strength. My child, if you find it difficult to stay awake and listen attentively in class while the teacher or lecturer is teaching, you are a sluggard.

If you are in a higher institution and you find it difficult to meet up with early morning lectures, you are a sluggard. If you attend workers meeting late on Sundays, you’re a sluggard as well. God only assists the weak who have exhausted his/her energy and not the lazy who are making excuses for their laxity.

OPEN HEAVEN 26 APRIL 2023 MESSAGE

It is common knowledge that the Church is meant to be for people called out by God. Christ is the Head of the Church because the most important part of anybody is the head. The head is so important that when you want to take a passport photograph, all you take is a picture of your head. The heart, kidney and liver can be transplanted, but there has never been a successful head transplant.

Is Christ your head? If your answer is yes, is He your vision? The eyes are a major part of the head and we know how important vision is. Where there’s no vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18).

Is Christ your hearing? If Christ is your hearing, then your faith will continue to grow because Romans 10:17 says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. That Word is Jesus Christ (John 1:1,14).

That will lead us to the nose. What you breathe in and out counts because according to Acts 17:28, “For in him we live, and move, and have our being…” You are alive as a Christian if you’re breathing in and breathing out Christ.

Who controls your brain? What do you allow your mind to dwell on? Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…” Philippians 4:8 tells us the kind of thoughts we should have: pure, lovely, virtuous, good and praise-worthy thoughts.

Who controls your mouth? What do you eat? Who do you praise – God or man? John 4:24 says, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth”. How do you pray? Who controls you in prayer? John 14:14 says, “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it’.

You will be a successful Christian if Christ is your Head – the Controller. Our prayer should thus be, “Christ, please be my head”, because if all is well with the head, you can handle whatever is before you. If something goes wrong with the head, every other thing will go wrong.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 24 APRIL 2023 MESSAGE

To enter God’s presence, you must follow Heaven’s protocol; don’t just crash in. Let your heart and your mouth be filed with thanks for all that God in your life, family and for your loved ones.

When you approach God for your needs, let Him first hear your thanksgiving, follow that with quality praise and worship, and then your requests can come last. Thanksgiving and praises should take more of your time, not your requests. This is also proven in Matthew 8:1-3 when the leper reverenced God first before making his request.

Just like the Yoruba adage says,” If you give thanks for yesterday’s favour, you will receive another one.” When you show gratitude for a kind gesture done to you in the past, you are likely to get another one. It is the same with God; don’t make another request without thanking Him for previous favours (blessings). Always enter His gates with thanksgiving.
