C. LESSON INTRODUCTION: In the world today, many people do not believe in God because they do not see Him. Yet as believers, we know Him as the God that is universally present (Omnipresent) and also personally present, dwelling with His people. The Bible tells us that man can only know God based on what He reveals to him.

LET US IDENTIFY SOME OF THE WAYS GOD REVEALED HIMSELF TO MAN IN THE BIBLE
1. Through creation, Romans 1:19-20, Psalms 19:1-6.

2. Through covenants and promises to His people Genesis 12:1-3, Genesis 9:8-17

3. Through divine visitations, Exodus 3:1-6, 1 Samuel 3:6-11, Acts 9:1-9.

4. Through His interventions and wondrous acts.

God is Omnipresent God therefore being in the presence of God will entail:
A. God opening our eyes, ears and heart to see and sense His nearness in a tangible way, Genesis 28:16

B. Manifestations that can make one tremble and stand in awe of God, Psalms 114:7, Exodus 40:34.

C. Seeking God through prayer, praise or study of the word of God, as an individual or as a group draws His presence 2 Chronicles 5:14.

CONCLUSION: There is nothing like the presence of God. In His presence we find rest, fulness of joy, covering, healing, peace, favour, deliverance, spiritual growth and other numerous blessings.
Why not begin to draw close to Him more than you have been doing.

You are God’s masterpiece; no one should tell you otherwise. You were made in the image and likeness of God. That you are God’s masterpiece is a trophy to be celebrated as His child. Be confident in this and know that nothing or no one can harm you.

This identity should make you realize your worth so that you won’t become a toy in the hand of anyone or the devil. For you to remain God’s masterpiece, surrender yourself as clay surrenders to its potter so that God can make something beautiful of your life, then God will boast of you like He boasted of Job, Abraham, Elijah, Paul, et cetera.

As God’s masterpiece, you have been given the power to walk in line with His will and to do exploits for Him. All you have to do is get to work and activate this God-given ability.

Some people excuse the sin of discontentment on the grounds of poverty: this is wrong. You must have heard this before, I didn’t own a pair of shoes for the first eighteen years of my life and that didn’t make me steal one. The first time I wore a pair of shoes was at my graduation from Secondary School and it was borrowed for the occasion.

Discontentment has made many young people steal, get involved in cybercrimes, ritual killing or kidnapping. Contentment is a virtue that you must imbibe now to save yourself from future problems. Learn from Judas who sold Jesus out and committed suicide afterwards.

Do you envy your friends who have the things you desire? Are you grateful enough for the things you have? That little you have is a privilege that some people don’t get to enjoy. So, be grateful to your parents and God always.

INTRODUCTION: The exponential growth the church is experiencing necessitated building a bigger auditorium to accommodate the ever-increasing growth of RCCG. When the old Arena became inadequate to house the attendants in major programmes, God instructed our Daddy G.O. to build a 3KM by 3KM auditorium. This project requires huge capital and requires payers to remove all forms of obstacles and delays.

PRAYERS POINTS:

1. We thank God for how far He’s has helped the project. Psalm 18:2 2. Father send help for the completion of this noble project. Psalms 121:1-2

3. Father, release the skill needed to complete the project as you want it. Phil 4:19

4. We condemn any tongue speaking against the project. Isaiah 54:17

OPEN HEAVEN 23 JANUARY 2023 MESSAGE

Fire cannot be ignored; it always affects its environment. Wherever fire is, everyone around there feels it’s heat and whatever comes in contact with it would either be consumed or become fire too. If there is a little fire somewhere and you throw some sheets of paper at it, they will catch fire themselves.

I am charging all believers today. It is okay when you have just come into a school to say, “Oh, we are surrounded by sinners” but after three months, it would be a shame if they are all still sinners. How can you be in an office for three years with everybody there remaining the same? Fire compels everything around it to become like it.

If you have not been preaching the gospel to the people around you, where is your heat? Why have you gone so cold? In 1 Kings 18:36-39, when Elijah demonstrated that he is fire, the whole nation fell on their faces and said, “Your God is God”.

In Acts 16:25-34, when Paul and Silas were thrown into jail, by the time they had demonstrated that they are fire, the jailer humbled himself and said, “Tell me what I must do to be saved”. I pray you will receive the ability to demonstrate the power of God in your environment now, in Jesus’ name.

Shining your light would, however, require some personal sacrifices. You must spend time praying and dwelling in the presence of God. You would need to fast and study your Bible regularly. Don’t shy away from any opportunity to show that you are fire.

When a classmate tells you they are not feeling fine, don’t suggest medication; lay hands on them and pray for their healing. By the time the fellow gets healed, he or she would spread the news to others and before you know it, you would have won your faculty over to the Lord.

Is there any of your colleagues who is looking up to God for the fruit of the womb? See it as an opportunity to preach Christ to your entire office. Pray for the fellow and assure them that they will carry their babies in nine months. When God does the miracle, everyone will know that your God is real and they will bow to Him.

This teaching series on ‘flames of fire’ is meant for everyone; however, I’ll encourage youths to pay extra attention. There are four basic elements in the world – water, earth, air and fire, each of which is very important to human existence.

As important as all these elements are however, it is interesting that God chose to make His ministers flames of fire. Let us discuss some characteristics of fire. The first thing about fire is that it is distinct. When you see fire, you recognise it immediately.

In 2 Kings 1:1-8, the king was sick and sent his servants to enquire from some idol worshipers whether he would recover or not, only for them to meet a man on the way who sent them back to the king with a message that he would die.

Once the messengers described the man, the king said, “That is Elijah”. Fire is uniquely distinct and you cannot mistake it for anything else. People should be able to see a child of God and say, “This is a child of God”.

These days, many people say, “Oh, it’s not about the outward appearance; God is only interested in what is on the inside”. One day while teaching at the Bible College, I brought two oranges-one green and one yellow, and asked the students to identify the ripe one. They all pointed to the yellow one, explaining that, from the way it looked, it was clear that it was the ripe one.

Fire has a distinct look; when you see it, you would know it. Don’t believe the lie that God is not interested in your outward appearance – He is. While it is true that He cannot be deceived by your outward appearance as He said in 1 Samuel 16:7, His word says that what you are on the inside will show on the outside.

Matthew 23:26 says: Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. You cannot claim, as a minister, that you are a flame of fire when you don’t look it.

You cannot claim that you are a child of God, yet dress and look like people of the world. If you need to tell people that you are a child of God before they believe it, you are not yet a flame of fire.

Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment. Exodus 23:2 Fire does not follow trends, it remains the same all the time. Fire is fire. It is not frozen today, liquid tomorrow and vapour the next day; fire is always fire and remains in one state. It does not copy anything or anyone else – it remains in its own state.

I remember a time when the custom amongst men of God in Nigeria was to wear a flowing robe – Agbada. It was their way of proclaiming, “We have arrived”. I don’t have anything against the Agbada. It is the traditional attire in many Nigerian cultures and I do wear it now and again. However, I refused to follow the trend of wearing it all the time.

One man of God said to me then, “I like you, but I don’t like the way you dress like a hunter” – apparently referring to the conservative French suits I often wear. I told him I was not a hunter, but rather, a soldier of Christ. Fire does not blend in with its environment; rather, it affects it.

You must stand apart. You cannot afford to do something simply because others are doing it. Fire does not conform; it is not afraid to stand alone. Fire does not yield to peer pressure. Proverbs 1:10 says when sinners entice you, don’t consent. It doesn’t matter how enticing the new trend is, if it is not in line with the word of God, reject it.

In 1 Kings 18:22, Baal was worshipped across the land of Israel but Elijah set himself apart. He did not blend with the others around him because He was fire. It doesn’t matter if everyone is doing what is against God’s will, because you are fire, you cannot join them. 2 amongst unbelievers.

Corinthians 6:16-17 urges us to come out from Matthew 5:16 says that we should let our light shine before men, that they may see our good works and glorify our Father in Heaven. How will they see the works of God in you when you are always trying to blend with people who are doing the works of the devil?
