OPEN HEAVEN 11 MARCH 2024 BIBLE READING Exodus 17:8-13

Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.

And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.

10 So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.

11 And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

12 But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

13 And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.

OPEN HEAVEN 11 MARCH 2024 MESSAGE

When you see a man of God laying hands on people, and they get healed, it is because those hands have been in contact with the fire of God.

Ordinary hands become anointed once they come in contact with the fire of God.

In Exodus 3, when Moses threw his rod on the holy ground, it became a serpent, and the Lord asked him to pick the serpent up by the tail.

As Moses bent to pick up the serpent, his own hands also brushed the ground that the fire had touched.

From that day on, his hands became special.

In Exodus 17:8-13, we see those hands deciding the outcome of a war between Israel and the Amalekites.

Every time he lifted his hands, Israel won, but when his hands got heavy and were going down, the Amalekites began to win.

Aaron and Hur were with him, they had four hands combined, but they knew that Moses’ hands, which had touched the holy ground, were different from ordinary hands.

So, rather than lift their own hands, they helped Moses keep his hands up.

In Exodus 14:16, God said to Moses:
But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

God had anointed Moses’ hands, so He ordered him to stretch them over the Red Sea to divide it.

So, in Exodus 14:21, when Moses stretched out his hands over the sea, it had no choice but to part into two. In Deuteronomy 34:9, those hands also transmitted wisdom into Joshua.

And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.

The power of God turns the ordinary into extraordinary.

If you read John 9:1-7, where Jesus saw a man who was born blind, He spat on the ground, made some mud out of it and anointed the blind man’s eyes.

Ordinary mud can become anointed mud; it all depends on whose hands the mud is in.

Your hands can also become anointed today, but first, they must be holy hands.

Psalms 24:3-4 says that only those who have holy hands can ascend into the hill of the Lord where they can come in contact with the fire of God.

OPEN HEAVEN 10 MARCH 2024 BIBLE READING Leviticus 10:1-5

And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not.

And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.

Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the Lord spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.

So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said.

OPEN HEAVEN 10 MARCH 2024 MESSAGE

When you are in a service, and everyone is praying that fire should fall, you must beware, because when the fire of God falls, some people die, and some others rejoice.

When the fire of God falls, those who do not belong to Him are consumed, while those who belong to Him are empowered.

In Daniel 3:19-30, when they threw Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego into the fire, their yokes were destroyed by the fire, they walked out of the fire into promotion, but those who were not on the side of the Lord that got close to that fire were consumed.

Some years ago, as I was preaching during a service, the fire of God fell. While people were getting their healings, a woman ran out of the service.

From outside the hall, she beckoned on the fellow she came with to bring her bag so that she could go home.

Surprised, the fellow asked her why she couldn’t come in to get her bag herself, and she said that there was fire in the place and she couldn’t come in for fear of being burnt.

When the fire of God comes down, while it brings healings and promotions to God’s children, it can destroy those who are not on the Lord’s side.

So, before you join those who are asking for fire to fall, if you are not already on God’s side, please cross over.

I should also note that sometimes, the fire of God comes down unexpectedly in the middle of a service. Even the preacher may be unaware that God is about to rain down fire.

When the fire falls, only those who are on Christ’s side will be safe.

The reason I chose the passage in our Bible reading for today is that I want to speak particularly to those who are workers in the church and who are still dipping their hands into sin.

Surrender your life completely to the Lord Jesus Christ because if you are standing by when the fire begins to fall, and you are not on the Lord’s side, the result might not be very pleasant.

God usually gives room for repentance, but that is until His fire falls. The day the fire falls is the day of consequences – there is no repentance after that.

Many are nursing diseases and other terrible issues because when the fire of God fell, they were not on His side.

RCCG HYMN 26: THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS

1 There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Saviour above.

Refrain:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

2 There shall be showers of blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.

3 There shall be showers of blessing:
Send them upon us, O Lord!
Grant to us now a refreshing;
Come, and now honour Thy Word.

4 There shall be showers of blessing,
Oh, that to-day they might fall,
Now, as to God, we’re confessing.
Now as on Jesus we call!

OPEN HEAVEN 9 MARCH 2024 BIBLE READING Exodus 3:1-5

1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.

And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.

And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.

And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.

OPEN HEAVEN 9 MARCH 2024 MESSAGE

In 1 Kings 19:19, as Elijah was passing by Elisha, he cast his mantle upon him, and from that day, Elisha’s life never remained the same.

Anything that the Holy Spirit has touched has been touched by fire, and when fire touches something, it changes permanently.

Exodus 3:1-5 tells us that the fire of God touched the ground of that backside of the desert, and from that moment onward, God called it holy ground.

When Moses got there, God told him to take off his shoes because the ordinary soil He had touched had become holy ground.

Exodus 4:1-20 tells us how holy the ground was, because everything that touched that ground also changed permanently, such that in verse 20, the Bible says: And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.

After the encounter with the fire of God, Moses left for Egypt, and amongst all the things he took, he took the rod of God.

The ordinary rod of a shepherd had now become the rod of God because it touched the holy ground.

Some years ago, a woman fell so ill that the doctors said that there was nothing they could do to help her.

Her children were advised to take her home so she could die with her family around her.

The woman told her children, “Don’t take me home; take me to the Redeemed Christian Church of God headquarters.” They told her, “Mama, but there is no service today. The pastor will not be there.”

She said, “I didn’t say I want to go and see the pastor; just take me there.” They took her to the church, but because she was very weak, she could not walk by herself, so she asked them to help her reach one of the pillars of the building.

The moment she got to the pillar and touched it, she became completely healed, and she walked back to the car herself.

She experienced a brush with the fire of God through her faith, and she became healed.

There is tremendous power in anything that has touched holy ground.

Don’t just go for services casually, be conscious that you are going to a place of fire.

When you go to your local assembly, go with expectations, and you will experience great miracles in your life.

Say This Powerful Confession: I confess today that the son of God is manifested in my life, therefore every work of darkness is destroyed. Every contrary spirit working in and around me bows to the power in the name of Jesus. No more oppression and adversity in Jesus’ name, Amen. Hallelujah!

I am believing God that when you are done reading this, any operation of the devil in your life would have been destroyed in Jesus’ name.

Please take the prayer points in this series very seriously; pray them fervently throughout the day.

Remember that it is the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous that avails much (James 5:16).

When we talk about demons operating in human beings they come in various categories.

There is the demonic operation called oppression.

Open Heaven 9 March 2024.  Open Heaven 10 March 2024.  Open Heaven 11 March 2024

When somebody is oppressed, it is as if the fellow is carrying a very heavy load, yet he or she cannot put it down.

Acts 10:38 says: “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

Oppression implies that the enemy is coming from outside to attack the fellow being oppressed.

The devils agent carrying out the attack is usually someone very close to the victim.

Many years ago, we were having a programme and God said that there was somebody in the congregation whose mother was using diabolical means to prevent her from getting married.

God said if the mother did not set her child free, she would die in seven days.

The following day, a young lady who was over 30 years old and unmarried stormed into my office with her mother.

The mother confronted me saying, My daughter came home and told me you said if I don’t allow her to marry, I will die.

I responded that the message was not directed to her in particular but to anyone preventing their children from getting married.

The woman then asked her daughter to leave my office for a moment, before saying, Its not that I don’t want her to marry, just that she is the one taking care of me; what will I do when she gets married?

I said she should have told us and we would talk to the girls husband to ensure he takes care of her.

The girl got married 6 months thereafter.

May the Lord will deliver you completely from any form of oppression, in Jesus name.

MEMORY VERSE: “But he that receive the seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundred fold, some sixty, some thirty.” Matthew 13:23
BIBLE TEXT: Matthew 13:3-13
[3]And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
[4]And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
[5]Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
[6]And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
[7]And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
[8]But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
[9]Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
[10]And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
[11]He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
[12]For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
[13]Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
LESSON INTRODUCTION: The parable of the sower is likened to a farmer who scattered seeds which fell on four different types of ground. Jesus, by this parable highlights four different responses to the gospel in the hearts of men.
LESSON OUTLINE ONE
The seed symbolizes the Word of God or the gospel which Jesus Christ came to preach to reconcile man with God-Matthew 24:14.
ii. Just like the planted seed starts to grow, the Word of God starts to deepen and grow within a person – 1 Peter 2:2.
iii. Disciples of Jesus Christ are to sow spiritual seeds across the field of life by spreading the gospel to others and all nations-II Timothy 2:2.
iv. The fruit we produce or bear is determined by the kind of seed sown into the lives of others-e.g. seeds of grace, joy, love, anger, hatred, self-centredness, etc. – II Corinthians 9:10. It is an essential element of transmitting and transforming lives – Heb. 4:12.
vi. It is a spiritual food that produces spiritual and material blessings – I Cor. 9:11.
i. The Lord Jesus is the Sower.
ii. He sows the words into our hearts to accomplish its purpose – Isa. 55:10-11.
iii. He is sowing for heaven’s harvest, restoration of earth as God’s fruitful realm.
iv. Jesus compares His work on good earth created by God which has become resistant to His reign to that of a farmer who keeps sowing hoping for harvest in the face of all challenges and frustrations.
v. As disciples of Christ, we represent the sower today so that His reign on earth can be established in all corners of the world-Matt. 9:38; Jonah 1:1-2; 3:1-4.
THE GROUND
I. This is our hearts created from the earth by God to bring forth fruits when His Word is planted in them – Matthew 13:15.
ii. As seed remains in the ground over a period of time to bring forth fruits later, so also the Word of God has to abide in us, be well nurtured and rooted to bring forth good fruits.
iii. The ground gives the right nourishment for a seed to grow correctly, while the type of ground sowed into determines the quality and quantity of the harvest.
ACTIVITY: Discuss the four types of soil the parable of the sower mentioned.
SUMMARY: Fashion your heart to always be receptive to God’s word.
CONCLUSION: The way a man receives the Word of God is determined by the condition of his heart. Unless we nurture our relationship with God, we will not grow into the faithful servant or disciple He has called us to be. When we feed our faith through God’s word and earnestly seek Him, our hearts and lives will overflow with abundance of God’s grace and blessings.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Father, please make me fruitful and a bearer of fruits unto repentance.

BIBLE PASSAGE: Luke 11:33-36.
[33]“No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light.
[34]The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.
[35]Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness.
[36]If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.” Woe to the Pharisees and Lawyers
MEMORY VERSE: “The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.’’ Luke 11:34 (NKJV).
INTRODUCTION: The eye gate, which is also referred to as the windows of/to the soul plays a strategic role in the information transmitted to the mind. The eyes dominate emotional communication because what we allow through our eye gate will eventually leach into our mind which is the centre of our thoughts, feelings, and reasoning. For any believer to stay pure and honour Christ always, the person must consciously guard what is allowed into his/her being through the eye gate (Job 31:1).
1. The Works Of ‘‘Unhealthy Eyes’’
2. Constituents Of ‘‘Healthy Eyes’
1. THE WORKS OF ‘‘UNHEALTHY EYES’’
People with ‘‘Unhealthy Eyes’’ exhibit the following works of the flesh: They are full of lust of the flesh to practice all forms of ungodliness (1 John 2:16). Due to a lack of the fear of God, these eyes have been exposed to iniquity and immorality (Romans 3:18). They are full of adultery and cannot cease from sin (2 Peter 2:14). They are blinded by darkness and filled with hatred (1 John 2:11). They hide from doing good (Proverbs 28:27). They are pure in their own eyes and filled with pride (Proverbs 30:12-13). They give their eyes to excessive sleep and are lazy (Proverbs 20:13). Their eyes are closed to do perverse things (Proverbs 16:30).
CLASS ACTIVITY 1: The class should discuss other components of “unhealthy eyes”.
2. CONSTITUENTS OF ‘‘HEALTHY EYES’
‘‘Healthy eyes’’ are consciously developed by believers in Christ Jesus, so as to guard against any form of pollution. Some of the elements of ‘‘healthy eyes’’ include:
1. Self-Control: We must develop the self-will to control what we allow to pass through our eye gate all the time (Galatians 5:22-23).The eyes must be restrained from roaming unnecessarily. This must be a personal resolve to only expose the eyes to anything that will benefit it (Job 31:1).
2. Exposure: We must consciously guard our eyes against any exposure to vile things. (Psalm 101:3).
3. Censor: There are some films we must deliberately refuse to watch and there are some books we must not feed our eyes on (1 Thessalonians 5:22).
4. Discipline/Guidance: We guide our eyes when we quickly take it off anything that can pollute our minds. This must be done on purpose to avoid any contamination (Genesis 9:22-25).
5. Conscious: As believers, we must be conscious of where we are and quickly leave any environment or item that can harm us in the long run through our eyes (2 Samuel 11:1-2).
CLASS ACTIVITY 2: The students should discuss the gains of having “healthy eyes.’
CONCLUSION: Believers who desire to honour God must scrutinize what they allow through their eye gate which ultimately is the window of the soul.
* What are the characteristics of “unhealthy eyes”?
* What can believers do to have “healthy eyes”?

[3]And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
LESSON AIM: To make members know that they have to be the good ground.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to know:
* what the seed is.
* who the sower is.
* what the ground is.
TEXT REVIEW: Matthew 13:3-13
a. Jesus gave a parable while teaching His disciples.
b. There was a sower who sowed on four different grounds.
c. Each seed grew according to the ground on which it was sown.
d. Jesus told His disciples that parables are given to them to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven

OPENING PRAYER: O God, help me to please you in all I do in the name of Jesus. Amen.
BIBLE PASSAGE: 1 Corinthians 6:12-13.
[12]All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
[13]Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
MEMORY VERSE: Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Philippians 4:5.
INTRODUCTION: To socialise simply means to talk to and do things with other people in a friendly way. There are various ways of socialising, ranging from relating with people in the immediate environment, to getting involved in governance and community development activities. Christian socialisation cuts across recreation, social interaction, cultural activities, and political issues. While there may be diverse opinions on the extent of the involvement of Christians in social issues, it should be noted that moderation should be the watchword.
LESSON AIM: To study various ways of socialising as a Christian.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES: Through the lesson, students should be able to:
a. Discover some biblical instances of socialisation.
b. Understand both the biblical and worldly perspectives of socialisation.
TEXT REVIEW: 1 Corinthians 6:12-13.
In this passage, Apostle Paul declares;
i. All things are lawful unto me…………..V12.
ii. Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats ………………………V13.
1. BIBLICAL INSTANCES OF SOCIALISATION
2. WORLDLY PERSPECTIVES VERSUS BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVES
1. BIBLICAL INSTANCES OF SOCIALISATION
The Bible contains instances of different forms of socialisation. We shall x-ray a few of them.
a. The Lord Jesus socialized in the following instances:
i. Jesus Christ and His disciples attended a wedding ceremony at Cana of Galilee (John 2:1-2).
ii. He dined with Zacchaeus in his house (Luke 19:5).
iii. He was a friend to the family of Lazarus, Mary, and Martha (Luke 10:38-42) and also paid them a condolence visit (John 11:33-35).
iv. He and His disciples also participated in the Feast of Passover (Mark 14:12-14)
b. Apostle Paul interacted with diverse classes of people for the sake of the Gospel to win some (1 Corinthians 9:19-23).
c. Daniel was involved in political administration in his days (Daniel 1:18-21; 6:1-3).
CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Students should explore some other examples of social events in which God’s people participated in the Bible.
2. WORLDLY PERSPECTIVES VERSUS BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVES
The teacher should state that Christians cannot live in isolation in this present world. However, we must know when and how to draw the line between worldly (sinful) and acceptable (holy) socialisations. For instance:
i. Christians are expected to recreate (1 Timothy 4:8) but visiting bar/beer joints and nightclubs for recreation is unacceptable.
ii. Christians should avoid participating or feasting on occasions where idols are celebrated (1 Corinthians 10:28).
iii. Modernised carnivals with satanic undertones and other places where Christian integrity is questionable should also be avoided (1 Corinthians 8:10-11; 10:19-21).
iv. Watching immoral movies, listening to/singing ungodly music, and wearing seductive dresses in the name of socialisation are also ungodly things Christians must avoid (1 Corinthians 8:8-11).
v. While getting involved in secular activities, Christians should watch out and abstain from things that can make them compromise their faith (Philippians 4:8).
CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Students should identify the inherent dangers of unguarded/reckless socialisations.
CONCLUSION: Whatsoever we do to socialise should be to the glory of God and the edification of the saints (1 Corinthians 10:31).
CONCLUSION: Christians are to show moderation in social interactions.
QUESTIONS:
* Mention three biblical instances of socialisation.
* Distinguish between worldly and godly socialisations.
EVALUATION: Mention some examples of socialisation in the Bible and some cautions that must be followed when socialising.
CLOSING PRAYER: Father help me to always glorify you as I socialise.
ASSIGNMENT: State five things believers can do to socialise without sinning(2×5=10 marks).

6. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day
I rejoice to see Thee,
Will thou pass over me today?

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please purify my eyes for Your glory in Jesus’ name.
LESSON AIM: To study self-control through the censoring of information.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES:
Through this lesson, students should be able to:
a. Understand the term “eye-gate”.
b. Mention the works of “unhealthy eyes”.
c. State the constituents of “healthy eyes”.
TEXT REVIEW: Luke 11:33-36.
According to Jesus’ teaching in the above Bible passage, there is an ideal and acceptable place for the lamp. When properly positioned, it gives light to everyone. Therefore, He said:
i. The lamp of the body is ……………….v34b.
ii. Therefore, …………………………………………v34b.
iii. Take heed ……………………………………….v35.
iv. If then your whole body is full of light ….v36.
1. THE WORKS OF ‘‘UNHEALTHY EYES’’
2. CONSTITUENTS OF ‘‘HEALTHY EYES’
1. THE WORKS OF ‘‘UNHEALTHY EYES’’
People with “Unhealthy Eyes’’ exhibit the following works of the flesh:
1. They are full of lust of the flesh to practice all forms of ungodliness (1 John 2:16).
2. Due to a lack of the fear of God, these eyes have been exposed to iniquity and immorality (Romans 3:18).
3. They are full of adultery and cannot cease from sin (2 Peter 2:14).
4. They are blinded by darkness and filled with hatred (1 John 2:11).
5. They hide from doing good (Proverbs 28:27).
6. They are pure in their own eyes and filled with pride (Proverbs 30:12-13).
7. They give their eyes to excessive sleep and are lazy (Proverbs 20:13).
8. Their eyes are closed to do perverse things (Proverbs 16:30).
CLASS ACTIVITY 1: The class should discuss other components of “unhealthy eyes”.
2. CONSTITUENTS OF ‘‘HEALTHY EYES’
“Healthy eyes’’ are consciously developed by believers in Christ Jesus, so as to guard against any form of pollution. Some of the elements of “healthy eyes’’ include:
1. Self-Control: We must develop the self-will to control what we allow to pass through our eye gate all the time (Galatians 5:22-23). The eyes must be restrained from roaming unnecessarily.
4. Discipline/Guidance: We guide our eyes when we quickly take them off anything that can pollute our minds.
EVALUATION: What are the characteristics of “unhealthy eyes”? 2. What can believers do to have “healthy eyes”?
CLOSING PRAYER: My Father, let me continually honour You through what I expose my eyes to in Jesus’ name.
ASSIGNMENT: Students should mention five (5) ways that “self-control” can help them have “healthy eyes” (2X5= 10 marks).
