MEMORISE: For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life. Proverbs 6:26

READ: Job 30:19-26

19. He hath cast me into the mire, and I am become like dust and ashes.

20. I cry unto thee, and thou dost not hear me: I stand up, and thou regardest me not.

21. Thou art become cruel to me: with thy strong hand thou opposest thyself against me.

22. Thou liftest me up to the wind; thou causest me to ride upon it, and dissolvest my substance.

23. For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all living.

24. Howbeit he will not stretch out his hand to the grave, though they cry in his destruction.

25. Did not I weep for him that was in trouble? was not my soul grieved for the poor?

26. When I looked for good, then evil came unto me: and when I waited for light, there came darkness.

READ – DAILY DECLARATIONS FROM OPEN HEAVENS 5TH JANUARY 2020 SUNDAY

Many times when unfortunate things happen, people are quick to blame it on God. They are quick to accuse God for everything that is going wrong with them.

God does not have bad thoughts for you. His thoughts towards you are good (Jeremiah 29:11).

Rather, it is the devil whose only thought is to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10), so wherever you see any of these things in play; it is the devil at work.

You may then say “Why did God allow the devil to operate in my life?” God sometimes leaves the devil to operate due to some conditions, one is sin.

1 John 3:8 says that anyone that sins is of the devil. A sinner is the devil’s property, so he can do with him as he pleases. Secondly, the devil operates in the lives of prayerless Christians.

God has given us authority over the devil, but many Christians are too lazy to use that authority through prayers.

So when the devil attacks, they are too weak to resist him. Lastly, just like in the case of Job, God allows the devil to operate when he wants to raise a person higher.

Once in a while, God allows challenges to come, so that when you overcome these challenges, you will be on a higher level. Before you move to a higher class, you have to go through examinations.

There are promotional examinations in the spiritual realm also.

Please don’t accuse God wrongly when bad things happen, He still loves you and wants the best for you always.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, I am sorry for Everytime I blamed you for bad things that happened to me. Please help me see your love for me daily in Jesus’ name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Genesis 12-14 ; Matthew 5:1-26

Hymn 9
1. What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

2. Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
Can we find a Friend so faithful?
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer!

3. Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield You;
You wilt find a solace there

RCCG HOUSE FELLOWSHIP MEMBER’S MANUAL 5TH JANUARY 2020: ARISE IN PRAYER TO UNSEAT YOUR ENEMIES` SIEGE

MEMORY VERSE: For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side. Luke 19:43

BIBLE PASSAGE: 2 Chronicles 32:1-22

1 After these things, and the establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself.

2 And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was come, and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem,

3 He took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the fountains which were without the city: and they did help him.

4 So there was gathered much people together, who stopped all the fountains, and the brook that ran through the midst of the land, saying, Why should the kings of Assyria come, and find much water?

5 Also he strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and raised it up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired Millo in the city of David, and made darts and shields in abundance.

6 And he set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the street of the gate of the city, and spake comfortably to them, saying,

7 Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him:

8 With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

9 After this did Sennacherib king of Assyria send his servants to Jerusalem, (but he himself laid siege against Lachish, and all his power with him,) unto Hezekiah king of Judah, and unto all Judah that were at Jerusalem, saying,

10 Thus saith Sennacherib king of Assyria, Whereon do ye trust, that ye abide in the siege in Jerusalem?

11 Doth not Hezekiah persuade you to give over yourselves to die by famine and by thirst, saying, The LORD our God shall deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

12 Hath not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall worship before one altar, and burn incense upon it?

13 Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the people of other lands? were the gods of the nations of those lands any ways able to deliver their lands out of mine hand?

14 Who was there among all the gods of those nations that my fathers utterly destroyed, that could deliver his people out of mine hand, that your God should be able to deliver you out of mine hand?

15 Now therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you on this manner, neither yet believe him: for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of mine hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of mine hand?

16 And his servants spake yet more against the LORD God, and against His servant Hezekiah.

17 He wrote also letters to rail on the LORD God of Israel, and to speak against Him, saying, As the gods of the nations of other lands have not delivered their people out of mine hand, so shall not the God of Hezekiah deliver his people out of mine hand.

18 Then they cried with a loud voice in the Jews’ speech unto the people of Jerusalem that were on the wall, to affright them, and to trouble them; that they might take the city.

19 And they spake against the God of Jerusalem, as against the gods of the people of the earth, which were the work of the hands of man.

20 And for this cause Hezekiah the king, and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz, prayed and cried to heaven.

21 And the LORD sent an angel, which cut off all the mighty men of valour, and the leaders and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. And when he was come into the house of his god, they that came forth of his own bowels slew him there with the sword.

22 Thus the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all other, and guided them on every side.

READ – OPEN HEAVENS 6 JANUARY 2020

It is appropriate we briefly explain “siege” and “prayer”. What is siege? Siege is defined in the dictionary as “a military operation in which enemy forces surround a town or building, cutting off essential supplies, with the aim of compelling those inside to surrender”.

While prayer is a two-way communication between a believer and his/her father in heaven who is the Almighty God. – Matthew 11:2-4. Prayer could be for thanksgiving, supplication and requests. – Philippians 4:6.

We have prayer of worship or adoration, intercessory prayers, spiritual warfare and prayer of agreement (corporate prayer) – Acts 1:14; 2:42 etc.

There is also praying in the Spirit – Ephesians 6:18. The devil knows the power embedded in prayer that it can scatter any satanic gathering mounted against a nation, family or child of God.

That is why he does everything possible to keep people away from praying. Will you allow him to succeed in your life? May the Lord revive our prayer lives as we study His word today in Jesus name.

PRAYER IS THE SOLUTION TO YOUR ENEMIES` SIEGE

1. King Hezekiah of Judah and prophet Isaiah offered a corporate prayer, also called a prayer of agreement, against the siege of Sennacherib, the king of Assyria, and God intervened and defeated their strong enemy. – 2 Chronicles 32:20-22

2. Daniel prayed and the satanic gang-up of his enemies was neutralized by God and He made all of them meat for the lions. – Daniel 6:3-22

3. Esther and her people prayed and the perfect plan of Haman backfired on him. He died a shameful death. – Esther 3:1-6; 4:16; 7:9-10

PRAYERLESSNESS HELPS YOUR ENEMIES TO PREVAIL

Without God we can do nothing. – John 15:5. By strength shall no man prevail. – 1 Samuel 2:9. We need to serve God so that we can enjoy all His promises and that we can be able to call on Him for intervention whenever storm arises. – Psalm 50:15; 86:7.

In 2 Kings 25:1-7 we read about King Zedekiah of Judah, who did not serve God unlike King Josiah and Hezekiah. When the king of Babylon laid siege against Jerusalem for a considerable long time, there was much famine.

He did not repent and cry to God, rather he tried to escape by his own wisdom. He was caught and taken to Babylon, where all his sons were slaughtered before him and they also plucked out his eyes.

When a man fails to pray, his enemies will reign supreme in his life. As a matter of fact, the devil will take charge of his destiny. – John 10:10.

CONCLUSION:

A closed mouth is a closed destiny and a prayerless man is a defeated man. Call on God and He will deliver you from the enemies´ siege.

Prayer lifts up the hand of God, but prayerlessness encourages the devil to continue with his destruction.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father, grant me the wisdom to seek Your timely help always.

2. Lord of hosts; dislodge every siege of the enemies against my life.

3. Oh Lord my God, don´t let the devil have a space in my life.

4. Father, unseat every siege of kidnappers and ritualists in Nigeria.

5. Father, every siege against any of Your children in RCCG, scatter it by fire in Jesus name.

READ – OPEN HEAVENS 6 JANUARY 2020

Healthy living is some time taken for granted by many believers. Taking care of our body is not about vanity. The decision to learn and implement healthy lifestyle is as important as the desire to prosper (3John 2).

True prosperity can only be enjoyed when we are in a state of good health. Some believers get too busy with work, families, ministry, etc. and barely have time to rest (Ecclesiastic 3:1).

Sound physical and mental health is achievable with the right application of the knowledge of healthy living.

OUTLINES OUTLINES

1. Reasons for healthy living

2. How to remain healthy

REASONS FOR HEALTHY LIVING

As believers, taking care of our body is taking care of the temple of God (1Corinthians 6:15a) because our bodies are the temple of God (1Corinthians 6 19-20).

Our bodies are precious to God and should be presented to Him as a living and healthy sacrifice ( Romans 12:1).

Being healthy makes the believers a good witness of the Christian faith and an example of a true child of God ( Matthew 5:16; Titus 2:7a).

In bearing one another’s burden, only the healthy can take care of the unhealthy (Galatians 6:2). Believers will have more energy to do God’s work (Ephesians 2:10).

We should know that we are labourers together with God, created to do the things that He had planned a long time ago for us to do (1Corinthians 3:9).

We cannot do God’s work at our best if our bodies and minds are not in good state.

HOW TO REMAIN HEALTHY

1. Eat Right: believers should eat healthy and balanced diets (Genesis 1:29-30). It is good to abstain from foods that will have negative impact on our bodies.

2. Personal Hygiene: proper washing of our body parts (private and public)/is essential for healthy living. Wash your underwear regularly, be well kept in and out and look neat.

3. Regular Medical Check-Up: right medical check-up is part of preventive healthy habit.

4. Physical Exercise: find time to exercise your body regularly in order to keep fit. (1Timothy 4:8). You can take a walk, jog or do some light indoor games/recreations.

5. Social/Emotional Wellness and Adequate Rest: associate with lively believers, watch your mood and beware of symptoms of depression or anxiety. Take time to rest and sleep well (Proverbs 17:22, Proverbs 12:25; Psalm 4:8).

6. Avoid living in an overcrowded room/environment to prevent easy spread of diseases.

7. Obedience to God’s Command: the ultimate way of living well is to do what God says (Exodus 15:26; Proverbs 4:20-22).

CONCLUSION
It is wise to plan well for our health The prudent sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keeps going and pays the penalty (Proverbs 27:12).

QUESTIONS
1. Why should believers live heathy?

2. How can one remain healthy?

OPEN HEAVEN 6 JANUARY 2020 MONDAY POWER VS AUTHORITY 1

OPEN HEAVEN 6 JANUARY 2020 MEMORISE: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. – (Genesis 1:28)

OPEN HEAVEN 6 JANUARY 2020 READ: LUKE 10:19-21 (KJV)

19. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

21. In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes; even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

OPEN HEAVEN 6 JANUARY 2020 MESSAGE WITH HYMN, PRAYER POINTS, DAILY DECLARATIONS AND BIBLE READING

GOOD MORNING BELOVED, HAVE A GREAT WEEK AHEAD OF YOU! REMEMBER TO MAKE EVERYDAY IN THIS WEEK PRODUCTIVE.

In science, we learnt that power is the ability to do work. It is the ability to get things done. Authority on the other hand is the right to get something done.

To illustrate this, let’s say you lost your car key and then got someone to force it open. That person has ‘power’.

However, you need to stay with the fellow while he is opening your car because if the police finds him there, he could get arrested, but with your present, you can prove that the car is yours and that you authorized him to open it.

Now, going by our illustration, who would you rather be – the fellow who has the power or the one with the authority?

It is quite unfortunate that many Christians are satisfied with just having power. They boast about how the devil no longer torments them.

This is good, but why should you stop there when Jesus said that you are capable of so much more? Mark 16:17-18 says:

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

As a believer, you are not only meant to be healthy, you are meant to have so much authority over sicknesses and diseases that once they feel your touch, they would vanish immediately.

You may have the power of divine health, but perhaps you don’t yet have the authority to make someone else healthy.

Receive that authority now in the mighty name of Jesus.

You may have the power to make wealth, but not yet the authority to cause someone else to get his/her financial breakthrough.

Receive that authority now in the mighty name of Jesus.

Thank you for reading today’s Open Heavens 6 January 2020 by Pastor E. A. Adeboye. Kindly share with others. Attending mid-week services are important to keep your YOUR FIRE BURNING. SMALL FELLOWSHIP MEETINGS ALSO HELP YOU STRENGTHEN YOUR spirit man against temptations. Meeting with a prayer partner organizing small Bible study group meetings regularly will also make you sharper spiritually.

OPEN HEAVEN 6 JANUARY 2020 PRAYER POINT:

Pray for spiritual authority over the mountains and challenges of your life.

OPEN HEAVEN 6 JANUARY 2020 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: JOB 10-13

Job 10-13 King James Version (KJV)

Chapter 10

1 My soul is weary of my life; I will leave my complaint upon myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.

2 I will say unto God, Do not condemn me; shew me wherefore thou contendest with me.

3 Is it good unto thee that thou shouldest oppress, that thou shouldest despise the work of thine hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked?

4 Hast thou eyes of flesh? or seest thou as man seeth?

5 Are thy days as the days of man? are thy years as man’s days,

6 That thou enquirest after mine iniquity, and searchest after my sin?

7 Thou knowest that I am not wicked; and there is none that can deliver out of thine hand.

8 Thine hands have made me and fashioned me together round about; yet thou dost destroy me.

9 Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again?

10 Hast thou not poured me out as milk, and curdled me like cheese?

11 Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews.

12 Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.

13 And these things hast thou hid in thine heart: I know that this is with thee.

14 If I sin, then thou markest me, and thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity.

15 If I be wicked, woe unto me; and if I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see thou mine affliction;

16 For it increaseth. Thou huntest me as a fierce lion: and again thou shewest thyself marvellous upon me.

17 Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, and increasest thine indignation upon me; changes and war are against me.

18 Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth out of the womb? Oh that I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me!

19 I should have been as though I had not been; I should have been carried from the womb to the grave.

20 Are not my days few? cease then, and let me alone, that I may take comfort a little,

21 Before I go whence I shall not return, even to the land of darkness and the shadow of death;

22 A land of darkness, as darkness itself; and of the shadow of death, without any order, and where the light is as darkness.

Chapter 11

1 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,

2 Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?

3 Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?

4 For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.

5 But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;

6 And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.

7 Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?

8 It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?

9 The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

10 If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?

11 For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?

12 For vain men would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass’s colt.

13 If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;

14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.

15 For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:

16 Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:

17 And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday: thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.

18 And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.

19 Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.

20 But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.

Chapter 12

1 And Job answered and said,

2 No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.

3 But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these?

4 I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn.

5 He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.

6 The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.

7 But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:

8 Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.

9 Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this?

10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

11 Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?

12 With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.

13 With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.

14 Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.

15 Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.

16 With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his.

17 He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.

18 He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.

19 He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty.

20 He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged.

21 He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.

22 He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.

23 He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again.

24 He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.

25 They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.

Chapter 13

1 Lo, mine eye hath seen all this, mine ear hath heard and understood it.

2 What ye know, the same do I know also: I am not inferior unto you.

3 Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.

4 But ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value.

5 O that ye would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom.

6 Hear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.

7 Will ye speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him?

8 Will ye accept his person? will ye contend for God?

9 Is it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocketh another, do ye so mock him?

10 He will surely reprove you, if ye do secretly accept persons.

11 Shall not his excellency make you afraid? and his dread fall upon you?

12 Your remembrances are like unto ashes, your bodies to bodies of clay.

13 Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what will.

14 Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in mine hand?

15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.

16 He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.

17 Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears.

18 Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified.

19 Who is he that will plead with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I shall give up the ghost.

20 Only do not two things unto me: then will I not hide myself from thee.

21 Withdraw thine hand far from me: and let not thy dread make me afraid.

22 Then call thou, and I will answer: or let me speak, and answer thou me.

23 How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.

24 Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine enemy?

25 Wilt thou break a leaf driven to and fro? and wilt thou pursue the dry stubble?

26 For thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to possess the iniquities of my youth.

27 Thou puttest my feet also in the stocks, and lookest narrowly unto all my paths; thou settest a print upon the heels of my feet.

28 And he, as a rotten thing, consumeth, as a garment that is moth eaten.

Theme: Let there be Light

Bible Text: Genesis 1:1-5

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Let there be light can be a command, an advice or a plea/request.

In Genesis 1:3, God wasn’t begging, He commanded Light!

Let there be Light is a request from man to God.

Request 1: Father, Let your Light shine for me. This is because when God’s light shines for you, you begin to see the invisible. 2 Kings 2:9-15.

When God’s light shines for you, all your requests no matter how hard will be answered. When God’s light shines for you, your destiny becomes activated.

Request 2: Father, Let your Light shine in me!

God’s light shining in you means God is opening your eyes and you begin to get dreams and Revelations. Psalm 118:8. 2 Cor 12: 2-7.

Let your light shine in me means you’d receive divine inspiration, you’d see solutions to problems that’ll baffle others.

Request 3: Father Let your Light shine Through You. Just like the Moon needs the Light of the Sun to shine through it to the rest of the world.

When the Light of God is shining through you, it means you are ready to be a vessel to stop stagnation in the Life of other people.

God’s Light shining through you means, you are being used to open the eyes of others. 2Kings 14:8-17.

Request 4: Father, Let your Light shine into my Blind spot.

This means, God, at the level I am, I’m helpless, please cover for me. 2 Sam 21:15-17.

Request 5: Father, Let Your Light shine on what is hindering my little Light. God already said you are the light of the world but sometimes our little light is been covered by something. Joshua 7.

There are people that are highly talented, highly educated, highly skilled but something is covering their light.

Prayer Points

1. Let your Light Shine FOR me.

2. Let your Light Shine IN me.

3. Let your Light Shine THROUGH me.

4. Let your Light Shine On my Blind Spot.

5. Let your Light shine on anything covering my light not allowing it to shine.

Thank you for joining us for the first Holy Ghost Service of the year. It was such a great time in God’s presence.

See you next month!!!

God’s light will continually shine upon and through you permanently in Jesus Name.

THEME: GOAT IN SHEEP SKIN?

MEMORISE: But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 2 Timothy 3:13

READ: 2 Timothy 3:13-16

13. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

14. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

15. And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

A goat is a very stubborn animal that is always disobedient and rebellious. A sheep on the other hand is a very submissive animal that obeyed instructions and pleases the shepherd.

There are some mischievous teenagers who look gentle and act as if they are obedient, but deep down, they are goats. If you are one of such, then this message is for you.

Do you pretend to your parents that you are obedient and studious, whereas your friends know you as someone completely different?

Do you have a boyfriend or girlfriend, yet you act as if you don’t even know what that means when you are with your parents?

I tell you today, no matter how a goat tries to disguise like a sheep, it is still a goat and the place reserved for goats is the everlasting lake of fire (Matthew 25:41).

You can trick your parents for a while, but you cannot fool God one bit. He knows the real you.

By the way, your parents want you to behave in a certain way not because of themselves, but because they love you and know what it is best for you.

If you decide to make them think that you think that you are a good boy or girl, while you are actually the opposite, the one who will be burnt is you.

My charge to you today is that, you stop the pretence and start working on your character to conform to God’s word.

The Lord has great plans for you (Jeremiah 29:11) but for Him to be your shepherd (Psalm 23:1) you have to be His sheep and not a goat.

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL FOR TEENS 3RD JANUARY 2019 KEY POINT:

You cannot deceive God. You will face the consequences of your actions.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: GENESIS 6-8 ; MATTHEW 3
HYMN 3

1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4. But we never can prove the delights of His love

Until all on the altar we lay;

For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,

Are for them who will trust and obey.

5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,

Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;

What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;

Never fear, only trust and obey.
