The Lord declared His place in the universe to be first in all things and filling all spheres, saying in Revelation 1:8:

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is; and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”

In light of this, He expects those who have given their lives to Him to put Him first in all things. Making God first in our lives in the highest honour we can give to Him. Indeed, there is no other position suitable for Him in our lives than the first position.

The implication of this is that we must consult Him first before we do anything. Those who jump the gun in their walk with God by taking steps before consulting him always encounter disappointment, failure, hardship and great frustration. No wonder the prophet says in Habakkuk 2:1.

“I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.”

To enjoy our walk with Him therefore, we must be ready to always walk behind Him, patiently waiting and watching as He goes ahead of us to make every crooked path straight, and carefully putting our feet in His footprints.

An example of someone who jumped the gun in the course of his walk with God is Father Abraham. If he had consulted with God before sleeping with Hagar at Sarah’s bidding, the Lord would not have allowed it (Genesis 16:1-3).

This action brought commotion to Abraham’s household and caused him great grief. When Sarah could no longer bear the situation, she insisted that Hagar and her son, Ishmael, be sent away. It was at this point that Abraham consulted God on the matter, and God said to him in Genesis 21:12:

“And God said unto Abraham, Let it no be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.”

If only he had checked with God first, he would have avoided so much pain and hurt. Beloved, let us learn to put God at the beginning, at the middle and at the end of all our plans, because He must fill all spheres of our lives for perfect guidance.

This should not be too difficult for those who desire to live with Him in his kingdom eternally. Is God first in your life?

MESSAGE:

It is important that your heart is fixed on God. Whatever your heart is fixed on is what it will yearn for, and what you yearn for is what you will eventually become. Also, it is what your heart is fixed on that determines what you say as the bible says out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

As a Christian, your words are supposed to be seasoned with salt, but that won’t happen if you fix your heart on something other than God. No matter, how popular a dirty slang becomes in your school, you should never join the multitude of to utter it because your conversation should be pure and seasoned with salt.

What is in your heart? What is your heart fixed on? Is your heart fixed on the tending fashion? Is it fixed on getting attention of that boy/girl in your school? Is it fixed on dressing well and owning expensive things so that your mates will see you as a wealthy person? All these things will eventually get you into trouble one way or the other. Fix your heart on God alone.

Lord thank you for your mercy that has set me free from every unwanted and uncomfortable circumstances

Lord almighty you remain God in all situation continue to show yourself mighty in all that concerns me

Father terminate every source of fear from my life and give me victory over fear in Jesus name

Father, arise, paralyse and crush every opposition, from the pit of hell against my promotion, in Jesus’ name.

Father, I am tired of the valley, please, create a space and vacancy for me at the top; in Jesus’ name.

Father, nullify and override every malicious, bias, and evil recommendations, that has kept me under for years, because this is my season of promotion, in Jesus’ name.

Father, You are the One, who can do exceedingly, above all that we ask; please, promote me beyond my own wildest expectations, in the spiritual and physical realm, above all my mates and peers, in Jesus’ name.

Father, grant me accelerated promotion that will confound and put to shame, all my adversaries, in Jesus’ name.

Father, lift up my head above those who have been looking down on me, and make me ruler over all my adversaries and mockers, in Jesus’ name.

Father, let every plot and gang up against my well-being and promotion, be scattered, in Jesus’ name.

Father, remove from position of authority and power, every man or woman, that is opposed to my promotion, and replace him or her, with someone, who is willing to be used to actualise Your Will, in my life, in Jesus’ name.

Father, let all protocols, rules and criteria be suspended, overlooked and overruled, as You did for Joseph, in order for me to be promoted, in Jesus’ name.

Father, bless your son, Pastor E.A.Adeboye, fight all his battles and make a way for him, where there seems to be no way, in Jesus’ name.

Father, let every challenge, hindrance and obstacle of getting these prayer points across to Your children, timely, and on daily basis be removed, in Jesus’ name.

INTRODUCTION:

In addition to the description of ‘Grace’ given in the previous lesson, grace can also be referred to as the divine influence in a human heart which reflects on the outside. It produces favour, beauty, goodwill, loveliness and ability.

It increases as one grows in the knowledge of God’s word (2Peter 3:18). We shall, therefore, consider the various dimensions of grace mentioned in the Bible as well as some actions that can be taken with or against grace.

DIMENSIONS OF GRACE

The Bible talks about grace in various dimensions. For instance, we have common grace (Psalm 145:9; Matthew 5:45), saving grace (Ephesians 2:4-9: Titus 2:11), abundant grace (2Corinthians 4:15), sanctifying grace (Titus 2:12; 1John 2:15-16), sustaining grace (Romans 6:14; Jude 1:24-25) supernatural/enabling grace (Philippians 4:13; Luke 1:37) service /gifting grace (Romans 12:6; Ephesians 4:7) sufficient grace (2Corinthians 9:8; 1Peter 5:10) victorious grace (1Samuel 17:36-37) sacrificial giving grace (Genesis 22:9-10; 2Corinthians 12:15), great grace (Acts 4:33), eternal grace (1Corinthians 9:27), etc.

The key to access and operate at any of these levels or dimensions of grace lies in the degree of one’s connection with Christ from whom all grace originates and the desire to grow in Him (John 15:5; Philippians 4:13; 2Peter 3:18).

WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH/AGAINST GRACE

There are lots of benefits that a believer can derive from grace apart from salvation. Grace can impart great blessings (Psalm 84:11). It also impart faith (Acts 18:27). In addition, it makes one God’s elect (Romans 11:5-6), gives boldness (1Corinthians 15:10), calls believers to the ministry (Galatians 1:15), helps render acceptable service (Hebrews 12:28), gives seasoning to speech (Colossians 4:6), gives strength (2Timothy 2:1), helps in times of need (Hebrews 4:16) and can bring hope (2Thessalonians 2:16), among others.
However, it is possible to do the following against grace:

i. Receive grace in vain (2Corinthians 6:1).

ii. Frustrate grace in one’s life (Galatians 2:21).

iii. Fall from grace (Galatians 1:6-8; 5:4).

iv. Fail of the grace of God (Hebrews 12:15).

v. Turn grace into lasciviousness (Jude 4).

vi. Sin in spite of grace (Romans 6:1).

vii. Reject grace through pride (James 4:6).

CONCLUSION
Every believer must aspire to grow in grace (2Peter 3:18). It is a dangerous thing to abuse grace despite its benefits.

I planned to visit our church in Philadelphia some years ago. The pastor in charge then was very excited, she broke the news to her family on reaching home. Her younger son asked if I would come to their house. And she replied in the affirmative. Then he said, “I am in trouble. The moment Pastor Adeboye enters this house, he will know every evil I have done.”

But God is daily in your house. God is everywhere. He sees everything. You need to be cautious of this because when your parents are absent, God is present. You may create a fake social media account to do certain escapades, but God knows that account and He is following you there too.

If I were you, I will pay attention to doing good rather than do bad things and hide them, after all Luke 8:17 says:
*”For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.”*
Nothing is ever hidden

KEY POINT:
In your private moments, you are watched by angels, a cloud of witnesses, demons and the Trinity
