I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

INTRODUCTION:

One of the oldest and most common questions in Life today is “What is the way out.” When Men are at crossroads, they usually ask of the Way Out.

Your crossroad today is known to you, it could be financial, spiritual, academic, marital, health, career, etc. Whatever represents your crossroad, there are usually many ways opened to you but ONLY ONE LEADS YOU to your ultimate destination/solution.

In John 14:6; “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”, the King of kings, the Saviour and the Redeemer of the World, says He is the genuine Way among other counterfeit ways before you.

Will you choose the way of Christ today?

MEMORY VERSE:

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11.

TEXT REVIEW: ISAIAH 55:8-11; ISAIAH

LESSON OUTLINE

Some Bible verses that remind us that God fulfills His promises are

Joshua 21:4; Joshua 23:14; 1 Kings 8:56; 2 Corinthians 1:20; Genesis 8:31; 1 John 2:25; Numbers 23:19; Romans 4:21; Haggai 2:5; Hebrews 10:36; James 1:12; 2 Peter 3:9; Proverbs 13:12; Jeremiah 1:12; Lamentations 2:17a; Ezekiel 12:28; Luke 1:38; Philippians 1:6; Galatians 6:9.

His Words also:
1. Nourishes our spiritual life (Heb. 5:12-14).

2. Cleanses our heart (Romans 12:2; Ephesians).

3. Guides us (Psalm 119:105).

4. Strengthens and secures us (Luke 6:47-48).

5. Give us spiritual fruitfulness and success (Psalm 1:1-3; Joshua 1:8).

6. Gives us victory (2 Corinthians 2:11; Hebrews 4:12).

7. Assures us of His protection over us (Psalm 91 and 121).

SUMMARY:

Engage and exercise your authority over situation of Life by declaring God’s over challenges.

CONCLUSION:

God’s word will never fail, but our unbelief is what prevents its fulfillment on our lives if God says He will give you something, hold Him by that promise until He fulfills it.

Numbers 23:19 We have many examples in the Bible one of which was when God told Prophet Elijah clearly that He would send rain upon the earth (1 Kings 18:1).

Elijah did not just fold his arms but went into serious prayer session to actualize God’s word (1 Kings 18:41-45).

Ensure you take the following steps:

a. Do everything to please God.

b. Worship Him with your whole heart.

c. Obey all His instructions.

d. Keep totally away from sin and

e. Also remind Him of His Word.

When you do all these, He will surely answer you.

ASSIGNMENT:
Speak over that pressing situation while you trust His Word.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Thank God for what He has promised you.

2. Ask God to bring to pass all His promises concerning your life.

INTRODUCTION:

READ – OPEN HEAVENS 22 SEPTEMBER 2019

Our Lord Jesus Christ has many names, some of which had been mentioned before His physical birth. For instance, Isaiah 9:6 calls Him Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, and the Prince of peace.

An angel instructed that His name should be called JESUS- (Luke 1:31). During His earthly ministry, He called Himself ‘the Bread of Life’ (John 6:48).

‘The Living Bread’ (John 6:51). ‘The Way, The Truth and The Life’ (John 14:6). ‘The Light of the World’ (John 8:12). In Acts 3:15, Peter called Him ‘The Prince of Life’. Is Jesus the true source of life?

LESSON OUTLINES

1. Jesus, the true source of life
2. How to enjoy true life in Christ

JESUS, THE TRUE SOURCE OF LIFE

The Scriptures establish the fact that in Jesus there is life; and the life is the light of men (John 1:4). Where there is light, there is always joy and brightness of the eyes.

Therefore, when Jesus gives light, He invariably gives joy, restoration of hope and life to the people. For instance, He restored joy to the family when He raised Jairus’ daughter (Mark 5:23-24, 35-42) and made whole the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:25-34).

He healed a leper, giving him a better life. (Matthew 8:2-3). He restored the sanity of the madman of the country of the Gadarenes and turned him into an evangelist (Luke 8:26-33, 38-39).

He fed the multitude and saved then from hunger (Matthew 14:15-21). He restored hope to the widow of Nain by raising her only son from the dead (Luke 7:11-15).

Furthermore, He saved that woman caught in adultery and rescued her from a brutal physical death and eternal separation from God (John 8:3-11).

The man with infirmity for 38 years got healed when he met Jesus (John 5:1-14): Jesus told the man “sin no more, lest a worst thing come unto thee”.

We can draw an inference from this statement is that sin can be a pointer to sickness, affliction and oftentimes, death (James 1:15).

This is why Jesus, the Prince of life, came into this world, lived like men, tempted as we are, died to rescue us from the claws of death and rose to give us abundant life (John 10:10).

Hence, salvation through Christ is the only guarantee for life eternal (Acts 4:12; John 3:16).

HOW TO ENJOY TRUE LIFE IN CHRIST

Through the offence of Adam, sin and death came into the world but we receive the offer of life through the righteousness of Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17-18; 1Corinthians 15:21-22).

If you feel hopeless, sad, confused, afflicted, you need Jesus (Matthew 11:28-30; Proverbs 28:1).

If you have not totally surrendered your life to Jesus, you are still operating in sin. To enjoy true life, therefore, you should acknowledge that you are a sinner and cannot help yourself (Romans 3:23, 5:12).

Repent of your sins and confess them to God (Acts 3:16). Ask Jesus to take over your life and begin to live a new life (Luke 3:8a; 2Corinthians 5:17).

Study the word of God and fellowship together with believers (2Timothy 2:15; Hebrews 10:25). You can live a godly life by allowing the Prince of life in your life today (Revelations 3:20).

CONCLUSION
Pray on your life issues, commit them to the hands of God. He will step in and restore your hope, joy and life to you but you must first be born again.

QUESTIONS
1. Give four biblical instances where Jesus proved to be the true source of life.
2. How can one enjoy true in Christ?

MEMORY VERSE:
John 1:3 – “All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.”

BIBLE TEXT: John 1:1-34

John 1:1-34 King James Version (KJV)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

24 And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.

25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

CENTRAL TRUTH: Jesus is the son of God and He is the King of Glory, a replica of the father.

INTRODUCTION:

Read – Open Heavens 22 Sept 2019 Sunday

Jesus Christ was at the beginning because He is the word. Jesus was with God and Jesus is God. Apostle Paul in 1Cor.2:8 refers to Jesus as the “Lord of Glory” who entered Jerusalem on a Sunday nearly 2000 years ago.

Jesus Christ radiate the Glory of God when He was on earth: People saw His Glory and later after His death they confirm Him as the son of God.

His kingship of Glory was declared at the creation as the word of God: At birth as He was announced by a star, at baptism in river Jordan by a dove and the voice of God declares His son ship, on the mountain of configuration, by His earthly ministry: the miracles, signs and wonders, His death, resurrection and ascension.

Everything about Jesus is glory for He is the King of Glory.

OPEN HEAVEN 23 SEPTEMBER 2019 MONDAY AVOID THESE SEVEN ABOMINATIONS

OPEN HEAVEN 23 SEPTEMBER 2019 MEMORISE: The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death. – (Proverb 21:6)

OPEN HEAVEN 23 SEPTEMBER 2019 READ: PROVERBS 6:16-19 (KJV)

16. These six things doth the LORD hate; yea, seven are an abomination unto him;

17. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

18. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

19. A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

OPEN HEAVEN 23 SEPTEMBER 2019 MESSAGE WITH HYMN, PRAYER POINTS, DAILY DECLARATIONS AND BIBLE READING

Good Morning,

Beloved, we bless God for another wonderful morning. It is indeed a great privilege to be alive and be here. The Lord will reward you with wisdom, even as you through today’s open heavens. God bless you, as you share this important message with someone.

There are many things people do that hinder their progress in life or even permanently destroy their destiny. We shall be discussing seven of these today.

From today’s Bible text, these seven include a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked imaginations, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaks lies and a person who sows discord among brethren.

These all are abominable in the sight of God because of the great negative impact they have on the lives of others.

For example, a proud look demeans a fellow human being, which can bring about low self-esteem, which in turn has led several people to commit suicide.

In other words, a person can cause the death of another through pride. In addition, a liar is not better than a murderer. The story of Joseph proves this.

But for the mercy of God, the lie Potiphar’s wife told against Joseph could have cost him his life, because it is a grievous thing indeed for a slave to attempt to rape his master’s wife.

Those who lie against their fellow human beings will not go unpunished by God unless they repent. Proverbs 26:28 says

A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

Another abomination is nursing wicked and evil thoughts.

Such thoughts, more often than not, lead to acts which the perpetrator might live to regret, like crimes of passion for example. For this reason, Jesus said in Matthew 5:21-22a:

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment:

Mischief-makers are in danger of God’s judgment, are those who profit from the misfortune of others will not go unpunished.

This also applies to those who bear false witness for any reason whatsoever (Exodus 20:16), the seventh abomination is one that is common in the household of faith: sowing seeds of discord among brethren.

This abomination is so deadly that it can set the whole church ablaze and give room for the devil to freely operate among the brethren because they are no longer working in agreement.

In Mark 3:25, the Lord said a house that is divided against itself cannot stand. No wonder Paul said we should look out for and avoid the so-called “brethren” who cause division in the church. (Romans 16:17).

Beloved, God is warning us against these seven deadly abominations today. Repent if you are involved in any of them.

OPEN HEAVEN 23 SEPTEMBER 2019 ACTION POINT:

Examine yourself to see if you exhibit any of these seven abominations in your character and repent of it.

OPEN HEAVEN 23 SEPTEMBER 2019 HYMNAL: HYMN 2 – OH JESUS, I HAVE PROMISED

1. Oh Jesus, I have promised
To serve Thee to the end;
Be Thou for ever near me,
My Master and my Friend:
I shall not fear the battle
If Thou art by my side,
Nor wander from the pathway
If Thou wilt be my Guide.

2. Oh let me feel Thee near me;
The world is ever near;
I see the sights that dazzle,
The tempting sounds I hear;
My foes are ever near me,
Around me and within;
But, Jesus, draw Thou nearer,
And shield my soul from sin.

3. Oh let me hear Thee speaking
In accents clear and still,
Above the storms of passion,
The murmurs of self-will;
O speak to reassure me,
To hasten or control;
O speak and make me listen,
Thou Guardian of my soul.

4. Oh Jesus, Thou hast promised
To all who follow Thee,
That where Thou art in Glory
There shall Thy servant be;
And, Jesus, I have promised
To serve Thee to the end;
O give me grace to follow
My Master and my Friend

5. Oh, let me see Thy footmarks,
And in them plant mine own;
My hope to follow duly
Is in Thy strength alone.
Oh, guide me, call me, drawn me,
Uphold me to the end;
And then to rest receive me,
My Savior and my Friend.

OPEN HEAVEN 23 SEPTEMBER 2019 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 KINGS 12-13, DANIEL 6:14-28

2 KINGS 12-13 KING JAMES VERSION (KJV)

CHAPTER 12

1 In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Zibiah of Beersheba.

2 And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.

3 But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

4 And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the Lord, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man’s heart to bring into the house of the Lord,

5 Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found.

6 But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Jehoash the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house.

7 Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.

8 And the priests consented to receive no more money of the people, neither to repair the breaches of the house.

9 But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of the Lord: and the priests that kept the door put therein all the money that was brought into the house of the Lord.

10 And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king’s scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and told the money that was found in the house of the Lord.

11 And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the Lord: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the Lord,

12 And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the Lord, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.

13 Howbeit there were not made for the house of the Lord bowls of silver, snuffers, basons, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of the Lord:

14 But they gave that to the workmen, and repaired therewith the house of the Lord.

15 Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.

16 The trespass money and sin money was not brought into the house of the Lord: it was the priests’.

17 Then Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against Gath, and took it: and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.

18 And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, and Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and in the king’s house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.

19 And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

20 And his servants arose, and made a conspiracy, and slew Joash in the house of Millo, which goeth down to Silla.

21 For Jozachar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.

CHAPTER 13

1 In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah king of Judah Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned seventeen years.

2 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.

3 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, all their days.

4 And Jehoahaz besought the Lord, and the Lord hearkened unto him: for he saw the oppression of Israel, because the king of Syria oppressed them.

5 (And the Lord gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime.

6 Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who made Israel sin, but walked therein: and there remained the grove also in Samaria.)

7 Neither did he leave of the people to Jehoahaz but fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like the dust by threshing.

8 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

9 And Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son reigned in his stead.

10 In the thirty and seventh year of Joash king of Judah began Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned sixteen years.

11 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord; he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin: but he walked therein.

12 And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, and his might wherewith he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

13 And Joash slept with his fathers; and Jeroboam sat upon his throne: and Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel.

14 Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.

15 And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows.

16 And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand upon it: and Elisha put his hands upon the king’s hands.

17 And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the Lord’s deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.

18 And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.

19 And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.

20 And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.

21 And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

22 But Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.

23 And the Lord was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.

24 So Hazael king of Syria died; and Benhadad his son reigned in his stead.

25 And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash beat him, and recovered the cities of Israel.

Daniel 6:14-28 King James Version (KJV)

14 Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.

15 Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.

16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.

17 And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.

18 Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were instruments of musick brought before him: and his sleep went from him.

19 Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.

20 And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?

21 Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.

22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.

23 Then was the king exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.

24 And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.

25 Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.

26 I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.

27 He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

28 So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

14. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

There are some people who, when there is a group assignment, everyone wants to be in their group, these are the ones who always make positive impact.

There are some others who nobody wants to be group mates with for an assignment, these ones either have negative impacts or no impact at all.

For me, if I am in a place at all, my impact must be felt. This should be your resolve too.

You should be such a person, that when people see you coming, they are happy because solution has come to the problem they have been battling with.

To always make positive impact, first, you must recognise your area of strength.

Your strength could be in mathematics, sciences, music or sports. Once you know your area of strength, begin to improve yourself in that area.

Read more, practice more and ask questions from experts in your area of strength. The better you get in that area, the more impactful you will be.

This does not mean you should ignore other areas, improve on them too, but make sure that nobody can ignore your impact in your area of strength.

REFLECTION:
What impact do you have on your friends, is it a positive or negative impact?

BIBLE IN A YEAR:
2 Corinthians 12

Hymn 13
1. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is the love of God flowing through you?
Are you telling the lost of the Savior?
Are you ready His service to do?

Chorus:
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.

2. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Are you burdened for those that are lost?
Have you urged upon those who are straying
The Savior who does on the cross

3. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is it a daily telling for Him?
Have you spoken the word of salvation?
To those who are dying in sin?

4. We cannot be channels of blessing
If our lives are not free from sin;
We will barriers be and a hindrance
To those we are trying to win.

OPEN HEAVENS 21 SEPTEMBER 2019 MEMORISE: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. – (Hebrews 13:8)

OPEN HEAVENS 21 SEPTEMBER 2019 READ: DEUTERONOMY 7:1-12 (KJV)

1. When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;

2. And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them;

3. Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

4. For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods; so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.

5. But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.

6. For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God; the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

7. The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people;

8. But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

9. Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

10. And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them; he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.

11. Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.

12. Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers;

OPEN HEAVENS 21 SEPTEMBER 2019 MESSAGE WITH HYMN, PRAYER POINTS, DAILY DECLARATIONS AND BIBLE READING

GOOD MORNING BELOVED,

God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind.

When we say that our God is unchangeable, we may not know the full implication of what we are saying unless we are well-grounded in His word and ways.

His word in today’s memory verse emphatically states that Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith, is the same yesterday, today and forever, meaning that what He stood for over two thousand year ago has not changed today.

Unlike politicians who change their ideologies with the mood swings of the polity, Jesus Christ said in Matthew 5:18:

For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one title shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

God’s covenant are established on the pillars of His unchangeable nature (Malachi 3:6). He therefore expects those in covenant with Him to be consistent in living by the terms of His covenant.

In today’s bible reading, the Almighty God reminded the children of Israel of the need to abide by the law of the covenant He had with them.

He told them that He had chosen them as a holy and special people for Himself, preferring them above all other people on earth.

He chose them not because they were more in number or more righteous than others but because of His love for them and because of His covenant with His friend, Abraham who was their father.

God chose them to live a life set apart for holiness through obedience to His commandments just as God chose them, so has He chosen all those who believe in His Son Jesus Christ today.

We are chosen by God to be a peculiar people consecrated to Him (1 Peter 2:19). Beloved do not be deceived, God has not changed His standard of holiness (2 Timothy 2:19).

If He said in time past that He hates sexual immorality of all kinds, including homosexuality (the reason for which He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah), then He has not changed His mind on this today (Romans 1:26-27).

No matter how well the world propagates the lie that homosexuals are created that way, it will forever remain a lie of the devil.

Just as the devil deceived eve, so is he deceiving people with diverse philosophies built around lies today.

I am persuaded and convinced by the infallible word of God and the Holy Spirit that gays and lesbians cannot inherit the kingdom of God, just as robbers, thieves of all categories and treasury looters will not enter into it (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

God’s unchangeable character is a call to those who are partakers of His divine nature to remain resolute in upholding His standard and banner in this world.

OPEN HEAVENS 21 SEPTEMBER 2019 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 KINGS 9, DANIEL 5:13-28

2 KINGS 9 KING JAMES VERSION (KJV)

1 And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead:

2 And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;

3 Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the Lord, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.

4 So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramothgilead.

5 And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain.

6 And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the Lord, even over Israel.

7 And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the Lord, at the hand of Jezebel.

8 For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:

9 And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:

10 And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.

11 Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee? And he said unto them, Ye know the man, and his communication.

12 And they said, It is false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, Thus saith the Lord, I have anointed thee king over Israel.

13 Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.

14 So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had kept Ramothgilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.

15 But king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If it be your minds, then let none go forth nor escape out of the city to go to tell it in Jezreel.

16 So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah was come down to see Joram.

17 And there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?

18 So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he cometh not again.

19 Then he sent out a second on horseback, which came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.

20 And the watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and cometh not again: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously.

21 And Joram said, Make ready. And his chariot was made ready. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out against Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.

22 And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?

23 And Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah.

24 And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and smote Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.

25 Then said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Take up, and cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, the Lord laid this burden upon him;

26 Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the Lord; and I will requite thee in this plat, saith the Lord. Now therefore take and cast him into the plat of ground, according to the word of the Lord.

27 But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot. And they did so at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.

28 And his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.

29 And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.

30 And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.

31 And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master?

32 And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.

33 And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.

34 And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king’s daughter.

35 And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.

36 Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the Lord, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:

37 And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.

DANIEL 5:13-28 KING JAMES VERSION

5 In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.

6 Then the king’s countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.

7 The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spake, and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.

8 Then came in all the king’s wise men: but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king the interpretation thereof.

9 Then was king Belshazzar greatly troubled, and his countenance was changed in him, and his lords were astonied.

10 Now the queen by reason of the words of the king and his lords came into the banquet house: and the queen spake and said, O king, live for ever: let not thy thoughts trouble thee, nor let thy countenance be changed:

11 There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;

12 Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation.

13 Then was Daniel brought in before the king. And the king spake and said unto Daniel, Art thou that Daniel, which art of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Jewry?

14 I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.

15 And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they could not shew the interpretation of the thing:

16 And I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom.

17 Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation.

18 O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:

19 And for the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down.

20 But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:

21 And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.

22 And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;

23 But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:

24 Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.

25 And this is the writing that was written, Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin.

26 This is the interpretation of the thing: Mene; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.

27 Tekel; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

28 Peres; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
