MESSAGE:

I know that as teenagers, you will fund it very hard to keep vigils. When you are spoken to about vigils, you become reluctant. But do you know that holding a vigil once in a while is necessary as a Christian? Vigils are held mostly for prayer or worship sessions that last all through the night. When we hold a vigil, it becomes a matter of acting Christ-like. In Luke 6:12, Jesus Christ prayed all night. If Jesus could talk to His Father for an entire night, why can’t you do the same?

Whenever the devil wants to frustrate the agenda of God’s children, he applies the tactic of “divide and conquer”.

Knowing he stands no chance against us whenever we walk in unity of purpose. We must therefore stop the enemy in his tracks by fostering unity among ourselves.

It is unfortunate that the devil pays closer attention to the word of God than we do. He knows the power in God’s word and that is why he tries to make us trivialize it.

In Genesis 11:6, the Almighty God said something significant, which those of us who want to do exploits for Him must take note of. He said:

“And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.”

In a nutshell, this scripture encapsulates and confirms the power of unity.

23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

Great unity exists among the Godhead, and as carriers of God’s image, we also are capable of living in unity if we choose to. The early Church was able to turn the world upside down for Jesus because they were one in heart and soul (Acts 4:32). When they prayed, the got result because they prayed in unity. Acts 4:31 records what happened when they came together to pray:

“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”

Unfortunately, the Church today prays without similar result because we are not united in the Spirit. Whenever the devil discovers our broken chain, he exploits it. May the Lord return brotherly love back to His Church in Jesus Name.

MESSAGE:

Worship is a magnet so powerful that it attracts even the King of all kings all the way from heaven to wherever it is.

I know this because John 4:24 says God is seeking those who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. We see the magnetic power of worship in play in Acts 16:25-27 where Paul and Silas were imprisoned and heavily chained.

They worshipped God and since He is always seeking those that will worship Him, Hus presence came down mightily in to the prison and caused an earthquake.

The earthquake was so severe that it broke the chains of all the prisoners and opened all the prison doors.
In the Presence of God, there is joy, not sorrow (Psalm 16:11).

In His presence, there is liberty, not bondage (2 Corinthians 3:17). When He appears, demons flee (Mark 5:1-20). Do you need His presence in any area of your life? Just worship Him.

KEY POINT:
The Power of worship is its ability to attract God’s presence.

In Genesis 29:11, we see Jacob’s reaction when he first saw Rachael. He crushed in her son much that tears came out of his eyes, alas, he was crushing on a trouble maker. Rachael, though married to Israel himself was still worshipping idols. She even stole an
idol and lied in the face of a curse about it. She terrorized her elder sister Leah, and caused Jacob a lot of headache.

I really like the word ‘crush’ because it describes the exact result of its presence. Having a crush will only crush you. If you don’t believe me, ask Samson about Delilah.

If you are having feelings for anyone atthis stage of your life, you are asking for trouble.
Face your academics, read your Bible, pray, go to church often and forget that crush.

I am speaking toyou as a father and a friend, many teenagers whohad a bright future have been destroyed, all because of a crush.
