OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TEENS 18 FEBRUARY 2019 – STANDING OUT
MEMORISE: Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Hebrews 1:9
Read: Deuteronomy 28:1-13
1 IF YOU will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments which I command you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you if you heed the voice of the Lord your God.
3 Blessed shall you be in the city and blessed shall you be in the field.
4 Blessed shall be the fruit of your body and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your beasts, the increase of your cattle and the young of your flock.
5 Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading trough.
6 Blessed shall you be when you come in and blessed shall you be when you go out.
7 The Lord shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.
8 The Lord shall command the blessing upon you in your storehouse and in all that you undertake. And He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you.
9 The Lord will establish you as a people holy to Himself, as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways.
10 And all people of the earth shall see that you are called by the name [and in the presence of] the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you.
11 And the Lord shall make you have a surplus of prosperity, through the fruit of your body, of your livestock, and of your ground, in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you.
12 The Lord shall open to you His good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain of your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
13 And the Lord shall make you the head, and not the tail; and you shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you this day and are watchful to do them.
MESSAGE:
The summary of Deuteronomy 28:1-13 is that you shall be outstanding. To be outstanding, you must realise that holiness is the major ingredient you need. If you live in sin like every other person, you will end up just like them.
To be outstanding, while others are committing sin, you must remain holy. While everyone loves the things of the world, you must hate and stay away from them.
God said that it is those who hate iniquity and love righteousness that He will give the anointing to be above their peers to (Hebrews 1:9). Read – Open Heavens 18 February 2019
In addition, you must be devoted to whatever assignment you are given. Then you have to study hard to show yourself approved. Ensure you put the best effort into everything that you do.
KEY POINT:
Holiness is central to being outstanding.

Hymn 11
1. Stand up! Stand up for Jesus,
Ye soldiers of the Cross!
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss.
From victory unto victory
His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished,
And Christ is Lord indeed.
2. Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
The solemn watchword hear;
If while ye sleep he suffers,
Away with shame and fear.
Where’re yeah meet with evil,
Within you or without,
Charge for the God of battles,
And put the foe to rout.
3. Stand up! Stand up for Jesus!
Stand in His strength alone;
The arm of flesh will fail you,
Ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the gospel armour,
And watching unto prayer;
Where duty calls, or danger,
Be never wanting there.
4. Stand up! Stand up for Jesus!
The strife will not be long;
This day the noise of battle,
The next the victor’s song.
To him that overcometh
A crown of life shall be;
He with the King of glory
Shall reign eternally.

OPEN HEAVEN 18 FEBRUARY 2019 – PRINCIPLE OF DIVINE MULTIPLICATION

OPEN HEAVEN 18 FEBRUARY 2019 MEMORISE: But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 2 Corinthians 9:6
OPEN HEAVEN 18 FEBRUARY 2019 READ: Genesis 26:12-14
12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.
13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:
14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.
From the beginning of creation, multiplication has been central to the purpose and agenda of God for humanity.
The Lord in His infinite wisdom specifically chose His words when He proclaimed His first blessing upon mankind in Genesis 1:28, saying:
“Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
God deliberately started His proclamation with “Be fruitful”. What does it mean to be fruitful?
Fruitfulness is actually a form of multiplication, because when a single seed of corn or a tiny portion of some other crop is planted, at the time of harvest it usually brings forth multiple folds of what was planted. Read – Prayer Points For Open Heavens 17 FebrREADING
19
Amazingly, after God proclaimed “Be fruitful”, He thereafter commanded the multiplied fruits to be multiplied again, culminating in what is known as progressive multiplication.
Surprisingly, God didn’t stop there; He went ahead to make another related decree, saying “Replenish the earth”. This implies that after getting to the end of a process, there is a need to make preparations for beginning the process all over again.
To replenish the earth is to nourish and prepare the ground to produce and accommodate future harvests successfully.
Consequently, God’s principle of divine multiplication can be said to be multidimensional. Let’s consider a few of the dimensions that can usher one into the realm of divine multiplication.
The first of these is thanksgiving. If you want to be blessed, learn to offer quality thanksgiving to God for His love and mercy, goodness and favor. Sing praises to God for who He is: the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Ancient of days, and the Lord of Hosts.
You cannot praise and worship God enough; therefore, keep spending quality time praising Him. The second aspect of the principle of multiplication is giving.
Giving involves paying tithes and offerings, sponsoring the propagation of the gospel of Jesus, and getting involved in the work of ministry. Giving is a time tested aspect of the principle of multiplication, confirmed by the Lord Himself in Luke 6:38.
The third dimension of multiplication is to be a diligent worker. God promised in several passages of the Bible to bless the work of our hands (Deuteronomy 12:7, Psalm 1:3)! Read – Open Heavens 17 February 2019
Christians must have a livelihood and be committed to working hard before they can hope for multiplication. The fourth dimension of the principle of multiplication is holy living and prayer (Philippians 4:6).
Finally, do not be satisfied with the grace that you already have. Be thankful for it but don’t go to sleep over past successes. Believe God and serve Him in holiness, and God’s principle of progressive multiplication will begin to operate in your life today in Jesus’ Name.

OPEN HEAVEN 18 FEBRUARY 2019 HYMN 1
THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS
1. There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.
o Refrain:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.
2. There shall be showers of blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.
3. There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come, and now honor Thy Word.
4. There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
5. There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.
OPEN HEAVEN 18 FEBRUARY 2019 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: John 18-19 and Isaiah 42:1-17
John 18 King James Version (KJV)
18 When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.
2 And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.
3 Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
4 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?
5 They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.
6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
7 Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
8 Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:
9 That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.
10 Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.
11 Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
12 Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,
13 And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year.
14 Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
15 And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest.
16 But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.
17 Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also one of this man’s disciples? He saith, I am not.
18 And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.
19 The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.
20 Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.
21 Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said.
22 And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?
23 Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?
24 Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.
25 And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.
26 One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
27 Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crew.
28 Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.
29 Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man?
30 They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.
31 Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:
32 That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die.
33 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
34 Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?
35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
39 But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
40 Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.
John 19 King James Version (KJV)
19 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,
3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
4 Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
5 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!
6 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.
7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.
8 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;
9 And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.
10 Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?
11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.
12 And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar’s friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.
13 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.
14 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
15 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.
16 Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.
17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
18 Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.
19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was Jesus Of Nazareth The King Of The Jews.
20 This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.
21 Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.
22 Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.
23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
24 They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.
25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.
33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:
34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
38 And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
39 And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.
40 Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.
41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.
42 There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews’ preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.
Isaiah 42:1-17 King James Version (KJV)
42 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
5 Thus saith God the Lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
6 I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
8 I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
10 Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
11 Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
12 Let them give glory unto the Lord, and declare his praise in the islands.
13 The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.
14 I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.
15 I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.
16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.
17 They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.

INTRODUCTION:
Having discovered the forms and causes of domestic violence, it is important that we critically examine the consequences as well as the remedies for domestic violence. Read – Open Heavens 17 February 2019
It should be noted that regardless of the forms or causes of violence, God hates those who love violence (Psalms 11:5). Believers are encouraged to abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good, be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another. (Romans 12:9-10). Read – Open Heavens 17 February 2019
LESSON OUTLINES
1. Consequences of domestic violence
2. Remedies for domestic violence
CONSEQUENCES OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Domestic violence is in stark opposition to God’s plan for families. While discipline is important, it is distinctly different from violence and abuse. Domestic violence usually births unpleasant consequences. Some of which are:
1. Sin and divine rejection. Genesis 4:7
2. Hindered or unanswered prayer.1Peter 3:7
3. Contradiction of doctrines. 1Timothy 6:3-4.
4. Shame and condemnation. Obadiah 10.
5. Depression and psychology stress. Genesis 32:7-8
6. Guilt, hatred and trauma.
2Samuel 13:15, 18-20
7. Loss of self-esteem/confidence
2Samuel 13:19-20.
8. Isolation, dissociation and absent mindedness. Genesis 13:7-9
9. Decreased productivity.
10. Broken homes (separation, divorce etc) Malachi 2:16
11. Health related issues. Proverbs 17:22.
12. Loss of life (suicide or murder). and property. 2Samuel 13:28; Genesis 4:8
REMEDIES FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
When domestic violence is on-going, safety is the first step to avoid injury or loss of (1Thess. 5:21-22). The underlying factor(s) causing the violence must be thorough dealt with after which those involved must be willing to forgive wholeheartedly. Victims of domestic violence will likely need the support of well-trained Christian counselors to journey with them through the healing process. The parties involved should be made to know that:
1. Following God involves serving others, not manipulating and controlling them. (Matthew 20:26-28). Apply wisdom in dealing with members of your household. (Proverbs 24:3-6; 1Peter 3:7).
2. Christians are called to sacrificially love others, especially those in their own families. (John 13:34; Ephesians 5:1-2).
3. Be positive about one another. (Philippians 2:3; 1Thessaloninians 5:13b;).
4. Communicate deeply at all times but avoid corrupt languages. (Proverbs 25:9; Colossians 4:6; Ephesians 4:29). Do not go to bed without settling disputes. (Ephesians 4:26).
5. Pray against/about conflict (Matthew 26:41)..Be sober and vigilant against satanic strategies.(1Peter 5:8).
CONCLUSION
Domestic violence hurts the heart of God. Family is meant to reflect God’s love. It saddens Him when a home turns into place of pain. God’s desire for those involved in domestic violence, both the victims and abusers, is healing and wholeness.

MEMORISE: And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony: Revelation 12:11
Read: Mark 1:40-45
40 And a leper came to Him, begging Him on his knees and saying to Him, If You are willing, You are able to make me clean.
41 And being moved with pity and sympathy, Jesus reached out His hand and touched him, and said to him, I am willing; be made clean!
42 And at once the leprosy [completely] left him and he was made clean [by being healed].
43 And Jesus charged him sternly (sharply and threateningly, and with earnest admonition) and [acting with deep feeling thrust him forth and] sent him away at once,
44 And said to him, See that you tell nothing [of this] to anyone; but begone, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your purification what Moses commanded, as a proof (an evidence and witness) to the people [that you are really healed].
45 But he went out and began to talk so freely about it and blaze abroad the news [spreading it everywhere] that [Jesus] could no longer openly go into a town but was outside in [lonely] desert places. But the people kept on coming to Him from sides and every quarter.
MESSAGE:
Never hide your testimonies because several others can be blessed through them.
By the grace of God, I have been enjoying divine health for over 40 years now, but it was not so as of the time of my conversion. In those days, I used to have malaria practically every two weeks.
Many pastors preached then that Jesus is the Great Physician, medication was unnecessary. I laughed at them saying they were looking for someone to kill prematurely, and that how would we know if they were not secretly swallowing pills in the privacy of their homes.
I was of this opinion until an 86 years old man who used to walk with a stick and was bent over gave a testimony. He said, as a youth, he had a disease which gave him a burning sensation whenever he walked straight so he only felt relieved when he bent. Click Here To Read – Open Heavens 17th February 2019
One Sunday morning, this elder came to church walking upright without any aid, I was so shocked that I couldn’t wait to hear his testimony.
After I heard his testimony of healing that day, I resolved to make Jesus my doctor and for more than 40 years now, He has kept me in divine health. That man’s testimony changed my life.

Hymn 8
Hymn 8
1. Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.
2. Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might;
Thy justice like mountains high soaring above,
Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.
3. To all life thou givest to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish, but nought changeth Thee.
4. Great Father of Glory, pure Father of Light,
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
All laud we would render; o help us to see;
‘Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee.
5. Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.
