OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 18 DECEMBER 2023 BIBLE READING PSALMS 118:1-10

[1]O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.

[2]Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

[3]Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

[4]Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

[5]I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.

[6]The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

[7]The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.

[8]It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

[9]It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.

[10]All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 18 DECEMBER 2023 MESSAGE

Some time ago, I went to pray for patients in the cancer ward of a hospital, and I saw a boy who had eye cancer; one of his eyeballs had become almost as large as half of his head.

I also saw a woman with breast cancer: one breast had become almost as large as her body. Then I saw one of the female cancer patients singing praises to God, and I was moved.

According to her, she said she was singing because she knew she was going to die soon and go to Heaven.

What is your condition at the moment? No matter how bad a fellow’s experience is, there are a lot of people who wish to be like him/her.

Do you wish to live in a mansion with your family? There are people who live in a mansion and yet do not have sound health.

Oh! You think you deserve three square meals every day, you truly do, but there are some children who are in motherless babies’ homes with little or no care.

Do you wish to study abroad? There are some other children who hawk on the street and wish someone would help them so that they can acquire just one skill.

You don’t have any reason to be ungrateful. God deserves your thanks.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 18 DECEMBER 2023 KEY POINT

You don’t have any excuse not to praise God.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 18 DECEMBER 2023 HYMN

HYMN 10 – PRAISE, MY SOUL, THE KING OF HEAVEN

1. Praise, my soul, the King of heaven;
To His feet your tribute bring.
Ransom’d, heal’d, restor’d, forgiven,
Who like thee His praises should sing?
Praise Him! Praise Him!
Praise the everlasting King!

2. Praise Him for His grace and favor
To our fathers in distress.
Praise Him, still the same as ever,
Slow to chide, and swift to bless.
Praise Him! Praise Him!
Glorious in His faithfulness!

3. Father-like He tends and spares us; Well our feeble frame He knows.
In His hands He gently bears us,
Rescues us from all our foes.
Praise Him! Praise Him!
Widely yet His mercy flows!

4. Angels, help us to adore Him; Ye behold Him face to face.
Sun and moon, bow down before Him,
Dwellers all in time and space.
Praise Him! Praise Him!
Praise with us the God of grace!

OPEN HEAVEN 17 DECEMBER 2023 BIBLE READING Revelation 3:10-13

10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Have a blessed Sunday Beloved, kindly share these life-changing messages, prayers, and declarations with the precious people around you.

OPEN HEAVEN 17 DECEMBER 2023 MESSAGE

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:2

God is preparing a place you. However, if you are still committing sin and feeling it is okay to do so, sorry, you have no place in heaven.

The place He is preparing in Heaven is only for those living Holy and are without blemish, spot or wrinkle. He is coming back only for this people as they will be presented to himself as His bride. Ephesians 5:27.

It is interesting to know however, that Jesus may be preparing a mansion with the name of someone on it, but that fellow may eventually not stay in that mansion while someone else takes his or her place.

That is why Revelation 3:11 says
“Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.”

In the days when it was considered a crime in a certain country to believe in Jesus Christ, some soldiers arrested five young Christians.

In the peak of terribly cold weather, the soldiers stripped these five boys and sent them into a freezing lake.

The soldiers built a fire to keep themselves warm and said to these boys,

“All you need to do to come to this warm fire and have your clothes on is to deny Jesus Christ”.

After a little while, the boys began to freeze in the water.

When they were about to freeze to death, one of the boys raised his hand and told the soldiers he was no longer a Christian. They told him to come to the fire.

As he started moving towards the fire, God opened the eyes of one of the soldiers and he saw five angels, each one carrying a crown, just waiting for these boys to breathe their last so they could crown them and welcome them home.

As the boy who denied Jesus began to walk out of the lake, his angel turned to go away with his crown.

The soldier cried “Angel, wait for me, I will take the crown”.

He removed his clothes, jumped into the lake, died with the other four and took the crown of that young man.

Starting a race is of little consequence; what really matters is if you reach the finish line.

OPEN HEAVEN 17 DECEMBER 2023 PRAYER POINTS

Father, whatever price I have to pay, don’t let me lose my crown. Don’t let me miss heaven, Lord.

1 Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.

2 Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for thee,
swift and beautiful for thee.

3 Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from thee,
filled with messages from thee.

4 Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as thou shalt choose,
every power as thou shalt choose.

5 Take my will and make it thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is thine own;
it shall be thy royal throne,
it shall be thy royal throne.

6 Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for thee,
ever, only, all for thee.

TOPIC: THE GIFT OF ADMINISTRATION

BIBLE PASSAGE: Exodus 18:13-22

13 And so it was, on the next day, that Moses sat to judge the people; and the people stood before Moses from morning until evening.

14 So when Moses’ father-in-law saw all that he did for the people, he said, “What isthis thing that you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit, and all the people stand before you from morning until evening?”

15 And Moses said to his father-in-law, “Because the people come to me to inquire of God.

16 When they have a difficulty, they come to me, and I judge between one and another; and I make known the statutes of God and His laws.”

17 So Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “The thing that you do is not good.

18 Both you and these people who are with you will surely wear yourselves out. For this thing is too much for you; you are not able to perform it by yourself.

19 Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you: Stand before God for the people, so that you may bring the difficulties to God.

20 And you shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and show them the way in which they must walk and the work they must do.

21 Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

22 And let them judge the people at all times. Then it will be that every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they themselves shall judge. So it will be easier for you, for they will bear the burden with you.

MEMORY VERSE: 1 Corinthians 12:28 (NKJV)

And has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.

INTRODUCTION

There are gifts given by the Holy Spirit to the church (1 Corinthians 12:8). Among these gifts, the gift of administration is sometimes overlooked but it is as important as the rest (1 Corinthians 12:28; Romans 12:8).

Other translations for the gift of administration or administering are ruling and government (KJV), leadership (NLT), and guidance (NIV).

God gives some the gift of administration to help organise those with other gifts and keep the church functioning at its most efficient best. We need to pay some attention to the attributes of administrators with biblical

OUTLINES:

1. TRAITS OF ADMINISTRATORS

2. BIBLICAL INSTANCES

1. TRAITS OF ADMINISTRATORS

Having a sound administrator in an organisation is a blessing from God because his/her roles cannot be overemphasised.

Administrators must possess some of these traits:

1. Commitment to vision: They are committed to their organization’s vision and mission while realigning others to the same. They stick to the organisation’s code of conduct.

2. Attention to Detail: Administrators see the big picture of the organisation and think strategically. Effective administrators pay attention to details.

3. Delegating: Administrators do not only assign tasks but set clearly defined spheres of influence.

4. Hiring Savvy: Administrators set their agency or organization up for success from the very beginning by hiring the right people, for the right jobs, at the right time.

5. Emotional Balance: Great administrators funnel emotions, such as rage, anger, and happiness, into positive action that drives change.

6. Creativity: Sound administrators are able to come up with creative solutions to complex problems, usually by seeing an issue from a new perspective or by innovating a new approach to the solution.

7. Communication Skills: Good communication skills help administrators to communicate information and expectations clearly, both internally and externally.

CLASS ACTIVITY 1:

Students discuss the skill they should top the list of an administrator and why.

2. BIBLICAL INSTANCES

The Bible has records of some sound administrators who helped their leaders or nations achieve great success. These biblical characters

i. Joseph: He was the overall head of administration in Potiphar’s house. Through his performance, his master’s businesses prospered (Genesis 39:1-4). Also, Joseph’s administrative gift rescued Egypt from famine (Genesis 41:47-57).

ii. Moses: He became a good administrator after he was schooled by Jethro, his father-in-law. He raised new leaders to counsel and judge the people of Israel (Exodus 18:19-26).

iii. Deborah: She was one of the sole administrators (judges) of Israel before the reign of kings (Judges 4:4-5). She led Israel to a victorious conquest through her skills (Judges 5:6-7).

iv. Solomon: Through the wisdom of God in his life, he administered the right judgement (1 Kings 3:23-27). He achieved a peaceful co-existence with terrifying nations through his conflict management skill (1 Kings 4:24-25).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2:

Are there people in the New Testament who manifested the gift of administration? Name them and discuss what they did.

CONCLUSION: RCCG YAYA SUNDAY SCHOOL YOUTH 17 DECEMBER 2023

The spiritual gift of administration is a valuable asset to the church.

“To another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning ofspirits.”

Bible Text: Acts 16:17-18; 1 Kings 13:14-18

Acts 16:17-18:

17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

1 Kings 13:14-18:

14 And went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said unto him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Judah? And he said, I am.

15 Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread.

16 And he said, I may not return with thee, nor go in with thee: neither will I eat bread nor drink water with thee in this place:

18 He said unto him, I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the Lord, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him.

Lesson Introduction:

Discerning of spirits is a special gift of the Holy Spirit that enables someone to know the spirit operating at a certain time, event or place, whether it is really the Spirit of God or another spirit that is speaking or operating.

This gift silences demonic manipulation, enthrones righteousness and validates believers’ sonship in Christ. Every believer should crave to flawlessly and impactfully distinguish between the utterances of true spirits and false ones.

LEADER’S DIARY

Lesson Aim:

To ensure that members would be able to differentiate operations of different spirits and be guided in their operations.

Teaching Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, members should be able to know:

  • the manifestation of discerning of spirits.
  • the dangers of not being able to discern.

Test Review: Acts 16:17-18; 1 Kings 13:14-18

  1. There will always be deceptive spirits to hinder divine assignment.
  2. Their assignment is to distract believers from their purposes and stop them from actualising them.
  3. The Devil is seeking whom to devour – 1 Kings 13:18.
  4. To win the battle of deceptive spirits be vigilant – I Peter 5:5.

Teaching Method:

This is God revealing to believers details of the presence or the non presence of spirits i.e. the Holy Spirit and demons and also knowing the identity of demons in operation – Acts 16:17-18.

What is the manifestation of discerning of spirits and the benefits?

I. It is divine information and power that flows from God to the believer to know the operation of spirits.

ii. It also endows the believer to know which strategy is required to win the battle of spirits.

iii. It also confirms believers’ sonship and right in Christ – Heb. 13:5; I Pet. 5:5.

iv. Believers are motivated and empowered to cast out evil spirits and enthrone righteousness – Mark 16:17; 9:38-39.

v. It helps to judge dreams, visions, miracles, prophecies, etc.

vi. It aids the growth of the church.

Lesson Outline Two: DANGERS OF NOT BEING ABLE TO DISCERN

  • Exposure to attack and deceit – 1 Kings 13:17-18.
  • Loss of vision and calling – I Kings 13:23-24.
  • Living in darkness and uncertainty – Il Kings 8: 15.
  • Withdrawal of divine support.
  • Increase in demonic merchandize – Acts 16:16.
  • Increase in demonic activities and unlawful gains – Acts 16:19
  • Loss of divine presence and backsliding – Judges 16.20, 1 Kings 13:9.

Acts 16:17-18:

17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

17 For it was said to me by the word of the Lord, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest.

18 He said unto him, I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the Lord, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

Discerning of spirits is a special gift of the Holy Spirit that enables someone to know the spirit operating at a certain time, event or place, whether it is really the Spirit of God or another spirit that is speaking or operating.

This gift silences demonic manipulation, enthrones righteousness and validates believers’ sonship in Christ. Every believer should crave to flawlessly and impactfully distinguish between the utterances of true spirits and false ones.

MANIFESTATION OF DISCERNING OF SPIRITS

DANGERS OF NOT BEING ABLE TO DISCERN

  • Exposure to attack and deceit – 1 Kings 13:17-18.
  • Loss of vision and calling – I Kings 13:23-24.
  • Living in darkness and uncertainty – Il Kings 8: 15.
  • Withdrawal of divine support.

TOPIC: THE GIFT OF ADMINISTRATION

OPENING PRAYER:

Father, give me a thorough understanding of the gift of administration and its operation in Jesus’ name.

TODAY’S LESSON
