Our Bible text shows a link between violence and foundation as if to say that no one becomes violent without having a model in his foundation years.
The only form of violence tolerated by God is one that you put up against the devil when he is contending with your faith or wants to derail you from making it to Heaven.

Any other type of violence against any human is highly prohibited and is considered a sin.
As a child educator, I have deciphered that children form habits, characters and attitudes based on imitation: they replicate what they see elderly people around them do.

Therefore, you are a product of the direct influence of your parents or environment.
If your upbringing is characterized by violence and evil behaviours, I want you to surrender to Jesus today.
I have seen many elders today who were once violent in their youth, but as they crucified their flesh daily, God changed them.
Please seek godly counsel with regards to anger management and ask the Holy Spirit to help you.

OPEN HEAVEN 26 JULY 2023 MESSAGE

We started discussing the fear of the Lord yesterday and today we will look at some of the blessings that come to those who fear Him.

Our memory verse says: Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy. Psalm 33:18.
The Scripture above reveals a very huge blessing that comes from fearing God. The blessing is that the eye of the Lord will be upon every one that fears God.

This revelation implies several great things amongst which is that when the eye of the Lord is upon an individual, safety is guaranteed.
Hebrews 11:6 says that God is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
The Bible further says: The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good Proverbs 15:3.

In other words, the eye of the Lord sees everything – even the plans and moves of the wicked who want to harm you and He knows how to deal with them.

In today’s Bible text, we are enjoined to fear the Lord above all gods because they are ordinary works of men (Psalm 96:4-5).

We should also note that some people have made human beings their gods – probably for fear of what these people could do to them.
Psalm 56:11 however, says: In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. Psalm 118:6 says also, The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
Our Lord Jesus Christ taught us to fear God and not man (Matthew 10:28).
Another demonstration of the fear of the Lord is in verse nine of our text: O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
There is no true worship of God without holiness. This is where those who overstretch grace miss it.

Obedience is synonymous with holiness and the Scripture says to obey is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22).
Therefore, we must watch out for our worship – whether it is premised on the fear of the Lord or mere hypocrisy.

As you commit to fear the Lord at all times, His presence will never depart from you, in Jesus’ name.

There are some attitudes we possess that have both good and bad sides.

For example, a teenager who likes to talk and impart knowledge may appear very confident and sharp, but if left unchecked he/she may become talkative and fall prey to the enemy.
However, with the help of the Holy Spirit, the fellow will be able to control himself/herself.
Temperance, also known as self-control involves moderation, constraint, and the ability to say ‘No’ to immoral desires and fleshly lusts.
One of the proofs that the Holy Spirit is working in your life is the ability to control your thoughts, words, and actions.
It’s not that you are becoming weak-willed: rather, you’re becoming more conscious of who you are in Christ.

When you have self-control, you will find it is easy to tolerate people and would not get easily provoked.

Even when you are provoked, you will find a better way to communicate your emotions.
I pray that the Spirit of God will guide your actions, especially in unpleasant situations always in Jesus’ name.

OPEN HEAVEN 25 JULY 2023 MESSAGE

Today’s memory verse clearly establishes the need to fear the Lord if we would be wise and gain an understanding of life.
The Lord asks: A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? (Malachi 1:6).
How do we fear the Lord? Today’s Bible reading gives us ideas on how we fear the Most High God. One, we must magnify the Lord for who He is.
It takes the appreciation of God to fear Him. The Psalmist says: O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Who hast set thy glory above the heavens…When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained – Psalms 8:1,3
Secondly, we must put our total trust in Him. Lack of trust in God may cause us to disobey Him like Adam and Eve did.
They repeated what God had told them but the serpent countered it, thereby calling God a liar. Genesis 3:4-5 says,  And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

If Adam and Eve had had the fear of God in them, the devil would not have had his way in their lives. Here we can see that, indeed, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10).

Joseph is a classic example of someone who demonstrated the fear of God. Due to his fear of the Lord, he refused to take advantage of the adulterous offer of his master’s wife.
He refused to commit sexual immorality and told Potiphar’s wife: There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? (Genesis 39:9)
Fear the Lord and keep His commandment. When you do, the type of blessing that later came upon Joseph (Genesis 41:14) will also be your portion.
