I grew up in a very poor home. My father was extremely poor, yet he had two wives and many children. He also had a small farm that could not support the family if he died. So, I decided that I wasn’t going to die in that state of poverty and I knew that the only Way out was to study hard in school.

I studied hard and gained admission to Ilesha Grammar School but when the results came, my mother called me into the room and said, “You this boy, what are you trying to do? You know we have no money, and you say you want to go to Grammar School.” Then she begged me, “Please my boy, Christmas is coming, I will buy you good clothes. Forget about this Grammar School.”

I told her, “I don’t want Christmas clothes. I want to go to school.” This was in 1955. To show her how serious I was, I refused to eat for two days and was prepared to continue my hunger strike on the third day when she and my father somehow got some money and deposited it to the school.

One way or the other, I finished secondary school and gained admission into the university and today I am where | am. Success does not come to people who consider their limitations before they move.

The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets. – (Psalm 26:13) No matter the odds against you, if you can ignore those odds and just set out, there is success waiting for you out there.

See those things that you call limitations as tests challenging your abilities. A champion is rated by the opponent he faces, the bigger the opponent, the greater the title. The stronger the opposition you face; the greater your level of success.

Most people know the heavyweight champion of the world, but if you are to ask around only a few know the lightweight champion. The reason my success story is interesting to many is because of the low level I came from. Get up and face those limitations; the reward will be worthwhile.

Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded. – (2 Chronicles 15:7)

Time is quite a difficult concept to define. One very simple way to describe it is that it is a river that constantly flows. It keeps flowing in a certain direction and carries everyone along with it.

No matter what you are doing, time keeps flowing on. Therefore, when you don’t do what you are supposed to at the right time, not only would you have wasted a part of Your time on earth, but a part of your life also. This is why you cannot afford to be lazy.

One of the things you must understand about the river called time is that as it is carrying you on, it is constantly throwing opportunities at you. It carries you through these opportunities from the day you were born until the day you die. As you flow, you go from one place to another and come across one person or another.

Each person or place comes as an opportunity. If you don’t grab it when you are there, you may miss it forever as the river doesn’t flow backwards. When you understand this about time, you will realise that what decides if you will be successful is your ability to identify and make use of opportunities (Ecclesiastes 9:11).

The river called time has boundaries on both sides and you are usually in the middle. Occasionally, when God really loves you, He brings you in contact with the right person and tells you to follow him or her. If you are wise enough to obey Him without questions, then you will arrive at your God-ordained destiny.

This is what happened to me when I met my Father-in-the-Lord – Pa Akindayomi. I had a Ph.D. in Mathematics which was a big deal back then. My Father-in-the-Lord could not even read or write. He could only read the Bible because of a God-given ability, yet God said I should submit to and follow him.

Eventually, when he was going to be with the Lord, he wrote in his will that I should take over the leadership of the Church. My salary at the time was more than the income of the entire Church, but I obeyed. That is how the river of time brought me to where I am now.

If you want to fulfil your destiny, rely on God to show you the opportunities hidden in the people you meet and places you go, so that you will arrive at your expected end.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 15 JUNE 2023 MESSAGE

While the government of Nigeria was planning for the 1977 Festival of Arts and Culture (FESTAC), it occurred to me that since it would be a public holiday, I could gather students to study the Bible, pray, and dance to God instead. I got the approval to organize the programme and wrote letters to schools.

However, I needed money to post the letters, not to mention provide feeding and accommodation for the students throughout the duration of the programme as stated in the letter. Then, a friend offered his savings of #4,000. However, we still needed more money, so I sold my car.

By the grace of God, the programme was successful, and today, it is known worldwide as the RCCG Congress. I was not even the General Overseer then, just a Christian who wanted to lift Jesus’ name above all else.

Beloved, as Christians, you must match and outwit every secular dream. Do everything to ensure that God’s name is praised above all others. If you make a move, God will do the rest.

To be hospitable means to know how to entertain guests. Hospitality has many benefits: hospitable people don’t suffer permanent loss. For example, in 1 Kings 17:17-24, the widow of Zarephath would have lost her son, however, because of her hospitality, she didn’t.

Also in Genesis 18:1-14, Abraham received heavenly visitors, and the pending promise of a son was fulfilled. In addition, in Genesis 19:1-12, Lot warmly welcomed angels who came in the form of men and delivered him and his family from the fire that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.

Hospitable people are generous, homely and humble. They may not have much, but they present the little they have with a smile and love to their guests. The comfort of their guests is paramount to them, so they ensure the guest room is tidy, healthy meals are presented on time, et cetera.

My wife always does these all the time, and we have never lacked. The truth is hospitality can win the souls of unbelievers around you to Christ even without preaching to them.

Lord Jesus, I thank You for Your cleansing blood and for Your forgiveness. I am sorry for taking heed to the voice of evil over the voice of righteousness. Father forgive me and make me white as snow in the name of Jesus.

Oh LORD my God please, hold my right hand, and every time fear comes knocking, please speak to my heart “Fear not; I will help thee.”

Father, please help me to draw close to You, surrender my life to Jesus and begin to live a holy life in Jesus’ name.

Father, I bring to captivity every spirit of fear in my life right now. I say that I am free from the bondage of fear because I know that You, oh Lord, are my shield.

Father, please continually keep my family and I safe and free from the claws of the enemy in Jesus’ name.

The favor of God sets a man apart and makes him an envy to all.

Do you desire this favor?

Below are some scriptures that talk about favor for you as a child of God and prayers for you to say and declare especially during your night time prayers.

Study and meditate on these verses and declare them into your life.

Say the prayers too with faith in your heart and may testimonies abound for you in Jesus name.

Bible Verses:

1. Psalm 90:17 – “May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.”

2. Proverbs 3:3-4 – “Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.”

3. Luke 2:52 – “And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.”

4. Psalm 5:12 – “For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield.”

5. Esther 2:17 – “And the king loved Esther more than all the women, and she won grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins, so that he set the royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.”

Midnight Prayers for Favor:

1. Prayer for God’s Favor: Heavenly Father, I come before You in this midnight hour, seeking Your favor upon my life. I acknowledge that all good things come from You. I humbly ask for Your favor to rest upon me in every area of my life—my relationships, career, finances, and endeavors. Open doors of opportunity, promotion, and success. Grant me favor in the sight of others. May Your favor be a testimony to Your goodness and grace. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

2. Prayer for Divine Alignment: Lord, I surrender my plans and desires to You. Align my heart and actions with Your will. Guide me to walk in obedience to Your Word. May I be in the right place, at the right time, and in the right relationships for Your favor to flow abundantly. Lead me on the path that leads to Your blessings. Grant me the discernment to recognize and seize divine opportunities. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

3. Prayer for Humility and Gratitude: Gracious God, I approach Your throne with humility and gratitude. I recognize that Your favor is not earned but freely given. Help me to walk in humility, acknowledging that all I have and all I am is a result of Your grace. Keep me grateful for every blessing and every expression of Your favor. May my heart overflow with thanksgiving, and may my life reflect Your goodness. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

4. Prayer for Favor in Relationships: Lord, I pray for favor in my relationships with others. Grant me wisdom and grace to interact with kindness, love, and understanding. Help me to build healthy and fruitful connections. May Your favor rest upon me in my interactions with family, friends, colleagues, and strangers. Use my relationships as a testimony of Your favor and love. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

5. Prayer for Impact and Influence: Heavenly Father, I desire to make a positive impact and influence in the world around me. Grant me favor and opportunities to serve others, to share Your love, and to make a difference. Use my life as a vessel for Your glory. May Your favor empower me to bring transformation and blessing to those I encounter. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

As you pray for favor, remember to align Your desires with God’s will and trust in His perfect timing. Seek to walk in righteousness and to honor Him in all that you do. His favor is not based on external circumstances but on His loving and sovereign grace.

OPEN HEAVEN 15 JUNE 2023 MESSAGE

Some people find it difficult to trust God. They would rather put their trust in things that they can see than in the Lord that they cannot see. Many times, it is because we feel we are intelligent and our intelligence has helped us in the past so we want to be able to use it for everything.

I once went to minister the Holy Ghost baptism to a group of people; the uneducated ones were baptised almost as soon as the ministration started, but the educated ones were looking around, trying to understand how the baptism would come. These were doubting Thomases.

Thomas was a man who would not believe until he saw with his eyes. John 20:29 says, “Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”

Apostle Paul also said: While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. – (2 Corinthians 4:18)

Where you look to when you are in need of help is where your faith lies. For example, David said he would look up to the hills from whence came his help – the Lord (Psalm 121:1-2). If you look to man, then your faith lies in man. If you look to your money, then that is where your faith lies.

God can use either to meet your need, but you are to look to God and God alone. God is displeased when you have faith in anything or anyone else but Him. Hebrews 11:6 says without faith it is impossible to please God. Until you take your eyes off the physical and set them on Him in the Spirit, some things will remain out of your reach.

In our Bible reading for today, Asa found it difficult to look to God for his healing even when physicians had failed him. This is a stronghold of the devil that must be broken. If you study your Bible diligently, pray without ceasing, and fellowship regularly with other believers, you would soon begin to see how the spiritual controls the physical.

Spend more time with God than you do with man and that stronghold of dependence on physical things will be broken.
