I decree and declare that this is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it in Jesus’ name.

I decree and declare that I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth in Jesus’ name.

I decree and declare that I am the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. I am a child of God, so I am qualified to be called light.

I decree and declare that I arise and I shine; for my light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon me. Even if darkness covers the earth, and gross darkness the people: the LORD shall arise upon me, and His glory shall be seen upon me. And the Gentiles shall come to my light, and kings to the brightness of my rising in Jesus’ name.

I decree and declare that I carry the light of God in me, I have become a danger to the enemy. God’s mark upon me says, “Touch not mine anointed and do my prophets no harm”.

I decree and declare that God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in my heart to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Lord, I worship You today for there is none like unto You. Be exalted in my life forever more in Jesus’ name.

Father, I ask for Your forgiveness and mercy. Forgive my trespasses and show me mercy in Jesus’ name.

It is important to nurture healthy friendships and community in the church setting.

The Bible tells us that this is a good and wonderful thing to do.

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭133‬:‭1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Another advantage is that when you grow healthy friendships in church, you foster a supportive and uplifting environment.

Here are some practical steps to help you nurture healthy relationships in your local church:

1. Attend church regularly:

To know people well enough to create bonds with them, you must be a regular member in church.

You should be an active participant in the various activities organized by your church, like the Sunday worship service, midweek prayers and Bible study, worship services, small groups, and volunteer opportunities.

Regular attendance will help you build consistent relationships with fellow church members which can lead to the start of many meaningful friendships.

2. Be graceful, approachable and friendly

You must cultivate an open and welcoming aura towards people.

Be ready to generously give smiles at all times, initiate nice conversations, and show genuine interest in the lives of people.

This creates an atmosphere of warmth and makes it easier for friendships to form.

Being stuck up or keeping to yourself will keep people away from you.

3. Join small groups

If your church presents opportunities for members to join small groups within the church, be open to joining them.

Smaller groups provide the opportunity for people to connect more deeply because they are more intimate.

People get to share their joys and struggles, and provide support to one another.

This is one way friendships are formed.

4. Be empathetic and supportive

People are more likely to find a friend in you when you are a supportive person.

Be more genuinely concerned about people’s welfare an offer support in any ways that you can.

Rejoice with them that rejoice and mourn with them that mourn.

Lavishly celebrate people’s achievements and great work, and be quick to offer words of encouragement.

Do not forget to extend a helping hand when they need one and be an active listener.

6. Focus on your similarities and respect differences

Be open to participate in or even organize nice and fun activities outside of church and invite your church members.

However, you must also appreciate diversity because your church members come from different backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences.

Respect their differences and appreciate their uniqueness.

Be willing to forgive when misunderstandings arise and quickly resolve conflicts in respectful ways.

This will create a harmonious environment.

7. Serve

While your primary motive for serving in church should be love for God, service in any unit in church can also open you up to amazing friendships.

Be more willing to engage in volunteer activities or service projects with your fellow church members.

Serving together not only strengthens the bonds of friendship but also allows you to make a positive impact on your community.

8. Attend programs

When your church organizes programs like conferences, workshops, and retreats, prepare and plan to attend.

Take advantage of these programs organized by your church for your spiritual growth, but also for deeper connections, and a shared experience with people.

This strengthens friendships and community ties.

9. Pray for one another

Be sure to lift up your church members and new friends to God in prayer often.

Pray to God about their needs, challenges, and spiritual growth.

You can also pray with them if they want that. Prayer not only deepens your connection with God but also strengthens the bonds among believers.

10. Remain connected outside of church activities

Church relationships should not end in the church or fizzle out when you’re out of church.

Keep the friendships strong by remaining connected even beyond church gatherings.

Intentionally make plans for social outings, get-togethers, etc to deepen relationships and build a sense of community beyond the church walls.

Engage in meaningful spiritual discussions even outside the church.

Productive secular discussions can also be had.

You must remember that the ways to nurture healthy friendships and community in a church varies depending on the specific context and dynamics of your church community. The key is to be intentional, caring, and committed to building relationships that reflect the love and teachings of Jesus Christ.

Remember, building healthy friendships and community takes time and effort. Be patient and consistent in your interactions, and allow relationships to grow naturally. By investing in nurturing these connections, you contribute to creating a vibrant and supportive church community.

However, the Bible is not silent to the fact that in life, the believer can experience moments of afflictions, loss, pain, or challenges (Psalm 20:5).

Five Biblical Keys for the Believer to Live Victoriously in the Face of Affliction:

1. LOOK UNTO JESUS (Psalm 127:1-2, Romans 9:16, Psalm 62:11, Psalm 112:1-9).

This means to entirely depend and rely on God, even in seasons you do not understand.

Trusting God’s plan and His ways brings life and dominion. Although God’s ways may not always make sense, they hold the key to life.

2. COMMIT TO PRAYER (James‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬, I Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬)

Prayer is a necessary obligation. It may not be easy to pray, but when you pray, strength is supplied to you.

3. MEDITATE UPON AND SPEAK GOD’S WORD OVER THE SITUATION. (Joel‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬, Isaiah‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬, Psalm‬ ‭107‬:‭2‬, Ezekiel 37:7)

Though you may shed tears, seek solace in the Word of God, which declares “it is finished.” Rest assured that you will emerge victorious from your trials.

Do not say what the situation is. Say what the word of the Lord says.

Repeating God’s word (confession) is not just for emphasis but for creation. Situations respond to God’s word.

4. SEEK COMFORT, PRAYER AND HELP FROM GODLY FRIENDS AND THE FAMILY OF BELIEVERS. (Acts 4:21-24. 1 Thess 5:25, Phil 1:19, Ecc 4:10-12)

Living an isolated Christian life will not profit you in the day of adversity.

It is important to continually sow seeds of love, kindness, service, commitment and care among fellow believers to foster love and unity. (Galatians‬ ‭6:10‬).

The absence of the comfort gotten from like-minded individuals (believers and loved ones) during tough times can lead to a life of depression.

5. ENGAGE THE PROPHETIC (Hosea‬ ‭12‬:‭13‬, Job‬ ‭42‬:‭10‬)

The Prophetic and Apostolic ministry have a mandate to turn lives and situations around.

Pray: Lord, I understand that many are the afflictions of the righteous, but I bank on Your capability to deliver me!

Today’s Bible reading highlights one of the instances where we can go against secular or religious authorities. There is a time for everything under heaven. There is a time when in order for you to obey the law of God, you have to disobey that of the land.

For example, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego disobeyed the law of the land in order to obey God. Today’s memory verse points out clearly that acts of defiance are allowed if they will stop you from going against God’s law.

Beloved, you need to be firm in your stance for God. As God’s child, you must not compromise your faith by engaging in secret sins, joining others to do evil, or covering up for their sins.

When a teacher or an adult wants you to have sex with him/her, say no and report to a higher authority. When your classmates want you to join their immoral cliques, say no defiantly and report to the authorities. Say NO to anything against the will of God.

OPEN HEAVEN 6 JUNE 2023 MESSAGE

For the next few days, we will be discussing the nature of light and what it means to be lit up. (1 John 1:5) says that God is light. The colour of pure light is white, but when you pass it through a glass prism, it breaks up into the seven colours of the rainbow -Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet.

For this series however, I’ll focus on the colours red, yellow, green and blue. Red is the colour of danger. Hebrews 12:29 says that God is a Consuming Fire, meaning that God is indeed powerful and not someone to be toyed with. If you don’t believe me, ask Pharaoh. When you carry the light of God in you, you become a danger to the enemy. That is why (1 Chronicles 16:22) says, “Touch not mine anointed and do my prophets no harm”.

Red is also the colour of blood and Revelation 12:11 says that the saints overcame Satan by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. There is so much power in the blood of the Lamb that you can use it to overcome Satan. The red in the light of God within you will make you dangerous and give you power to overcome the devil. Red also signifies the stop sign. When the traffic light goes red, you know you have to stop (Exodus 12:23). Once you are lit up by the light of God, when evil sees you, it will stop.

Some years ago, a woman came to me and said money kept disappearing from their house. Initially, she and her husband suspected each other of stealing the money until one day, they confronted each other and discovered that neither of them was the culprit. This meant they were in real trouble. I understood what was happening immediately, especially because the husband used to be deep in the occult before he became a Christian.

I then told them that they should always cover their money with the blood of Jesus so that anytime the devil came to steal it, he would find the blood of Jesus covering it and leave. From that day on, they never lost anything again. I decree today that you, your children and property are covered in the blood of the Lamb and from now, when death sees you, it will stop, in Jesus’ name.

Gracious God, I worship You today; You’re the Almighty God; and, there is no one like You.

Lord, in anyway I have fallen short of Your glory, please, have mercy and forgive me, in Jesus’ name.

Father, please forgive me of every sin separating me from You. Please wash me clean and grant me a clean slate. Help me to live a life that is above sin and the flesh. May my life always please You in Jesus’ name.

The effect of misusing the tongue is seen in the Bible text of today, where God got angry because of the negative testimonies of the ten faithless spies. They displayed a lack of confidence in God, despite the fact that He had demonstrated His mighty power fo them on several occasions in the course of their journey through the wilderness, Therefore, God gave the verdict in Numbers 14:28.

On judgement day, everyone will be accountable to God for every word they speak while on earth. Therefore., be conscious of the things that come out of your mouth. Don’t be quick to talk when your emotions are running high, so you won’t make negative pronouncements against your situation, future, friends, family, and all that pertains to you.

Proverbs 18:21 says: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Profess your faith in God by speaking good things even when you are faced with difficulties. When you open your mouth, let your words glorify God.
