And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

MESSAGE:

One thing I know teenagers love is music. This is very good, but what kind of music do you listen to and sing?

If you choose to listen to worldly music, you will gain a trending beat to dance to and demons to go along with the music into your body.

But if you listen to gospel music and sing it, you can drive away demons. If you don’t believe me, ask King Saul. When demons tormented him, David played Christian music and the demons ran away (1 Samuel 16:23).

Many teenagers are under the oppression of demons because of who/what they praise in the music that listen to and sing.

If you sing gospel songs, every chain in your life and in the life of those around you will be broken just like it happened for Paul and Silas in Acts 16:25-34.

If you listen to gospel songs, God’s hand will be upon you, and the potentials and gifts that He put in your life will find expression just like Elisha in 2 Kings 3:15.

The worldly songs may sound very hippy and attractive, but it is just an attractive packaging for demons.

One of the most important responsibilities of leaders is to make the people they lead happy by providing an enabling environment for peace and prosperity.

A leader who listens to the yearnings and aspirations of his people and tries to provide solutions to their problems is usually loved, while any leader who fails to satisfy the common interest of the people, even for the best reasons, is generally condemned.

Therefore, leaders at any level of human endeavour have perfected the act of pleasing the people they lead in other to continually earn their approval and to keep enjoying the power, wealth and influence made available by their office.

However, the Bible admonishes Christians in general and those in positions of authority in particular to reject the temptation of becoming pleasers of men. (1 Thessalonians 2:4) says:

“But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.”

We see from this scripture that God expects all Christians to view every opportunity to influence other as a divine responsibility that has a divine purpose.

Therefore we are to do all things to the glory of God with the consciousness that we owe our allegiance to Him and not any human being. For this reason, the Holy Spirit says in Psalm 75:6-7:

“For promotion cometh neither from the east nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another.”

Pleasing people involves making every effort to do whatever they want in other to win their approval, even when such action are contrary to God’s commandments.

Pleasing people requires eye service, insincerity, self- centeredness and godlessness. Men pleasers have an insatiable appetite for money and power, and they can mortgage the future of the people they lead to achieve their selfish ambition.

Anyone who is obsessed with pleasing people will unconsciously begin to work against God’s purpose until he or she becomes an enemy of God.

Paul came to this conclusion in Galatians 1:10, saying:

“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”

Aaron, King Saul and Herod are examples of leaders who were committed to pleasing people in order to win their approval, without more consideration for the will and commandments of God (Exodus 32), (1 Samuel 15, Acts 12:20-23).

Unfortunately, they all got punished for their evil actions. I pray that every tendency to be a people- pleaser will be completely removed from your life today in Jesus’ Name.

1.I worship and adore You, my Father, for protecting me, my family, my business and everything that concerns me throughout the month of August. As I match into August, continue to breakdown strongholds in my life, society and nation, in Jesus’ Name.

2.Father, in anyway I have fallen short of your glory, please, have mercy and forgive me, in Jesus’ name. Give me the grace to be more faithful to you in this month of August!

Fear is an unpleasant emotion that is usually triggered by a perceived or real threat of danger, pain, or harm.

It manifests as a general feeling of anxiety over the likelihood of a negative occurrence that may never become reality.

It is indeed a paralyzing force that often leads to self-doubt, timidity and lack of confidence, and if allowed to fester, it usually deals irreparable blows on its victim over time. Speaking on the debilitating effects of fear, Proverbs 22:13 says:

Fear prevents it victims from investing quality time, effort and money into profitable ventures, rendering them powerless and denying them bountiful harvests.

Have you been held captive by fear? May the Lord deliver you from the spirit of fear and its paralyzing effects today in Jesus’ Name.

To liberate His people from the bondage of fear, God repeatedly encouraged them to “fear not” several times in the Bible. What He said to them, He also says to you now: “Fear not”. Be strengthened by His assuring words in Isaiah 41:10, saying:

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee: yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of righteousness.” Read – Daily Declaration 31 July 2019

In light of God’s promise in Isaiah 41:10-13, it is clear that He expects us to allow our faith in Him shape the realities of our lives rather than let fear dominate us.

God is disappointed whenever we exercise fear instead of faith. When the disciples of Jesus were confronted by a raging storm which frightened them, Jesus asked them in Mark 4:40b:

“Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?”

This shows us that God sees people who exhibit fear as having little or no faith at all. Faith is the antidote to fear, and anyone who will overcome fear must develop strong faith in God. Read – Open Heavens 31 July 2019

Complete trust and faith in God is a central pillars of our life as Christians. The Holy Spirit assures us that whoever believes in Christ will not be disappointed or confounded (1 Peter 2:6).

Whenever frightening events happen around us or we are overwhelmed by difficult circumstances of life, when danger lurks and failure or death stares us in the face, God expects us to safely trust in His love and ability to see us through such difficult times.

May the anchor of your faith continually hold on to God forever in Jesus’ Name.

THEME: HAVING PLEASURE IN SINNERS?

MEMORISE: Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 2 Timothy 4:2

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

MESSAGE:

God likes His children to be His mouth piece. When He sees people living in sin, He is always looking for one of His children that He can use to tell them to change their ways.

Jonah, Jeremiah, Elijah and others are examples of God mouthpieces.
When you, as a Christian, is hanging out with sinners, yet not telling them to change their ways, you are grieving God.

You may say “But Jesus hung out with Zaccheaus, a sinner”.

Check the result of Jesus’ hanging out with him, you will see that Zaccheaus repented by the end of the time they spent together.

If you have friends that are having sex, smoking, stealing or committing any other sin, you are not only failing in your kingdom duties but also threading the dangerous path of becoming like them.

The true and popular saying goes “birds of a feather flock together”. If you are not constantly sounding it in their ears that Jesus loves them and He wants to change their ways, then stop being their fiend because soon, they will influence to be like them.

KEY POINT:
If you are not sowing seeds of repentance into the life of sinners around you, then they are sowing seeds of sin into your life
