INTRODUCTION: Why do we need to pray for climate change? Rising global temperatures, caused by climate change, is bringing major changes across the world. Changes to weather patterns disrupt harvests and put seasons out of balance. It makes weather unpredictable, which include more frequent and heavy rain, intense heat of the sun, more floods, and more droughts. These can cause shortage of food and eventually result into famine.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father we thank you for creating and controlling times and seasons. Psa.24:1

2. Father, we thank you for your help in ages past over turbulent climate change in Jesus name.

C. LESSON INTRODUCTION: The Almighty God is the Lord over “Time and Chance”
God is timeless because He lives in eternity. He has been in existence before the creation of the Heavens and the Earth. A thousand years is but a day before God because He operates in Kairos while we operate in Chronos.

God has an appointed time for everyone to fulfill his/her purpose in life. This can only be achieved by being at the right place, at the right time and doing the right thing by waiting in the place of prayer. This book of Job 14:14 says “All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come”.

DEFINITION OF TIME AND CHANCE

TIME: A measurable period during which an action or condition exits or continues.
It is a portion of duration which God has given to man. Time can also be referred to as opportunity.

CHANCE – Incident or Occurrence of events in the absence of obvious intentions or cause Ecclesiastes 9:11 explains to us that it is not the fastest runner that wins in a race nor the strongest man that wins in a battle. But Time and Chance happen to them all. It means that nothing happens in life by accident, the Almighty God is the force that controls ‘Time and Chance’.

BIBLE CHARACTERS WHO EXPERIENCED TIME AND CHANCE

1. JOSEPH – He wanted the butler to help him immediately he (butler) was released from the prison but it did not happen until after two years, Genesis 41.

2. DAVID – He obeyed his father by going to see his brothers then he saw Goliath terrorising the Army of Israel, 1 Samuel 17

3. ESTHER – She became a queen in order to save Jews from destruction, Esther 6.

4. Hannah – She needed a son and God needed a Prophet to replace Eli, 1 Samuel 1-2.

5. WOMAN WITH ISSUE OF BLOOD – She got the chance and perfectly use it, Mark 3:25-34.

6. RAHAB, THE HARLOT – Utilised the chance and got better offer, Joshua 6.

7. RUTH, THE MOABITRESS – She got covenanted to David’s dynasty.

CONCLUSION: There is time for everything. Doing things at the wrong time would lead to disaster. God has an appointed time for our miracles but be sensitive to positive chance that can bring newness to the journey of your life.

Loving your enemies is likely the most difficult thing for someone to do, but Jesus made it clear that it is one of the most profitable things to do as a Christian.

The interesting thing about loving your enemies is that your love may win them over to Christ. The love you have for your enemies will strengthen you, and the devil will not have a chance to do you any harm.

When your enemies fall, instead of laughing at them, help them stand. If they are hungry, give them food, if they curse you, pray for them and if they provoke you, just walk away instead of getting angry. By doing all these, their evil intentions against you will not be accomplished. Remember what Stephen, the first martyr, did when they were throwing stones at him. Rather than curse them, get angry or call down fire, he prayed for them.

Today’s Powerful Confession: I confess today that the work of God prospers through me. I am instrumental to the futherance of God’s work and agenda. I commit to praying for God’s servants, using my talents and my resources to the end that God’s kingdom comes on earth in Jesus’ name, Amen. Hallelujah!

PRAYER POINTS

Father I thank You once again for the opportunity You have given me to see another wonderful day, I give You all the glory in Jesus name

Father I pray and I ask for Your mercy in any way I have sinned against You. I pray that You will have mercy on me in Jesus name

Father, help me to set my affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Oh Lord today, we pray for every man of God You are using, especially the famous ones who are more susceptible and vulnerable to attacks. We ask that You keep them and shield them from the enemy in Jesus name!

Father, every plan of the enemy against Your servants and every scourge of the tongue wagging against them, silent them in the name of Jesus!

Oh Lord, keep Your servants Holy and steadfast in You in Jesus name.

Father, help me to commit to praying daily and diligently for Your servants all over the world in Jesus name.

Father, help me to put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, and filthy communication out of my mouth in Jesus name.

Father, as Your elect, holy and beloved, help me to put on bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering in Jesus name.

Father, help me to live holy, to be diligent, to sow bountifully, and to pay my tithes. And let the blessings indeed pursue and overtake me in Jesus name.

Oh Lord, it is Your desire that I prosper. You delight in my holy prosperity. Please, teach my how to prosper all round in the name of Jesus.

Father I pray that You will bless me with divine understanding and wisdom to navigate through all challenges in the name of Jesus

Lord let Your Spirit dwell in me and direct me always in the name of Jesus

Father don’t let me go out of Your covering. Help me to always dwell in Your presence in the name of Jesus

Oh Lord, silence every adversary in my life that is mocking me and causing me to feel shame and reproach in the name of Jesus!

Father, let anyone mocking me now come and rejoice with me, in Jesus name.

Oh Lord, speak to my womb and send barreness away from me. Let it be far from my household. May my family and my generation continually experience the joy of having blessed children in the name of Jesus.

Lord, I will not let You go unless You change this evil pattern for good. Lord, please change my story in the mighty name of Jesus!

Anything, anyone, any force that is disturbing me and my family, today, let the fire of God fall and consume them in Jesus name.

Father, I cease to be comfortable with all the problems in my life. From today onwards, I have decided to stop accommodating these problems (mention) in the name of Jesus!

Father, please step into every longstanding affliction in my life and family and let them be brought to their abrupt end in Jesus name!

Oh Lord, I am tired of the level that I am on now; I want to move forward. I have achieved some success and I am grateful to You, but I am not yet where I want to be. Shift me forward father in the name of Jesus!

I decree and declare that I will contribute to the work of God by supporting my shepherd. I will not be a stubborn sheep in Jesus name.

Bless the Lord, Oh my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name.

Thank You, Father, for Your love upon my life and household. Be Thou Exalted Ancient of days.

Father, in anyway I have fallen short of Your glory, please, have mercy and forgive me, in Jesus’ name.
