NATURAL DISASTERS
BIBLE TEXT(S): Genesis 6:17, Psalm 46:1-3

INTRODUCTION: Natural disasters are destructive events, calamities that happen by nature. Such as floods, cyclones, earthquakes, fire, tsunami, landslide, plaques, etc. Men regard their occurrence as an act of God or by some strange powers, hence there is a need to pray for God’s mercy and against their disasters from time to time.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father, have mercy on us, Your people. Deliver us from natural disasters in Jesus name. – Psalm 57:1

2. Father, in Your mercy, reverse the disaster that You spoke of bringing to us because of our iniquities.- Exodus 32:14

3. Father, we humble ourselves and seek Your face. Please hear us from heaven, heal our land and deliver us from natural disasters in Jesus name. – 2 Chronicles 7:13+14

4. Father, have mercy on us and forgive us for abandoning the only living God to serve and worship other gods, in Jesus name. – 2 Chronicles 7:22

5. Father, hear us and save us from impending disaster and even the ones that have already happened which has led to food crises all over the Continent of Africa, in Jesus name. – 2 Chronicles 20:9

6. Father, bring disaster upon all the enemies of peace and righteousness in our nation, in Jesus name. – 2Chronicles 34:24

7. Father, give us listening ears to Your instructions so that we can dwell safely and secure, in Jesus name. – Proverbs 1:33

8. Father, forgive us, our sins, so that disasters will not pursue us, in Jesus name. Proverbs 13:21

9. Father, in Your mercy, terminate every disaster that Your judgement brought upon our nation, in Jesus name.- Isaiah 47:11

10. Father, by Your mercies, do not let disaster come upon us out of the north (put trouble spots in Your country) according to Your word in Jeremiah 1:14, 4:6, in Jesus name.

11. Father, remember Your word in Jeremiah 2:3 and bring disaster upon those killing Your children in our lands, in Jesus name.
12. Father, do not let the errors of our leaders bring disasters upon us, in Jesus name. Ezekiel 7:26

13. Father, please have mercy on us for breaking Your covenant that can bring disasters upon us, in Jesus name.

14. Father, in the days of Jonah, You had mercy on the people of Nineveh. Please have mercy on us too in Jesus name. – Jonah 3:6-10

15. Father, let us find favour in Your sight and do not allow disasters destroy our nation, in Jesus name.

I decree and declare that the vision God has given me is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, I will wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry In Jesus name.

I decree and declare that my appointed time will soon come in the name of Jesus.

I decree and declare that while waiting for my appointed time, I will not do things that put a dent in my testimonies In Jesus name.

I decree and declare that angels are ministering spirits sent to minister to me because I am one of the heirs of salvation. I am born again, therefore Angels are allocated to follow me everywhere I go. They follow me so that they can protect, assist and defend me in the name of Jesus.

I give thanks to the Lord, for His steadfast love endures forever. When I think of the goodness of Jesus, my spirit leaps for joy, Hallelujah.

Be Thou exalted Lord. In heaven and on Earth, no god can match You, no man can question You, no demon can stand You.

Thank You that You do not share Your power with any god. Thank You for not sharing Your glory with any man. Thank You for not sharing Your throne with the devil. You are God all by Yourself.

INTRODUCTION: At the beginning of this year 2023, like every other year, God gave prophesies about future events likely in the international, national scenes and also as it concerns the Church and individuals. It is our duty to pray in order to reap the positive sides of those prophesies.

PRAYER POINTS: FOR THE WORLD

1. Father, we thank You for the gift of prophecy that You have given to Your son and the church as a whole in Jesus’ name.

2. Thank You, Lord, for the testimony of Jesus which is the spirit of prophecy. – Revelation 19:9-10

3. Father, we thank You for You are the God of times and seasons. Our times and seasons are in Your hands in Jesus’ name.

4. Father, we thank You for the nice weather wherever we find ourselves this year in Jesus’ name.

8. Father, no matter how unpredictable the weather may be this year, we decree that the sun will not smite us by day nor the moon by night, in Jesus’ name. – Psalm 121:6

9. Father please, by Your mercy preserve our souls and preserve our going out and coming in, in Jesus’ name. – Psalm 121:7-8

10. Father, we thank You for the gift of the ‘Prince of Peace’ to the world, in Jesus’ name. Isaiah 9:6

11. Father, in this year 2023, let the world experience Your peace that will result in the growth of the church, in Jesus’ name.

12. Father, in this year 2023, let every family in the world enjoy Your peace that passeth all understanding in Jesus’ name. – Philippians 4:6

Contrary to the belief that ministry is what pastors and ministers of God do from the pulpit, I want to emphasize that politics is a ministry to a genuine child of God who engages in it for the sole purpose of doing the will of God through governance.

A good reason Christians should care about politics is that there are many Bible characters who engaged in it as part of a holistic approach to ministry that meets both spiritual and physical needs.

Joseph, at age 30, became the Prime Minister of Egypt and made sure there was constant food supply during the seven years of famine (Genesis 41). By divine wisdom, he coordinated the storage of surplus grains in the years of plenty ahead of the drought.

Likewise, Queen Esther used her influence in the Persian government to save the Jewish people from mass death (Esther 8). Also, Daniel was a special adviser to about 4 kings during his time. You can shine for God in politics if you abide and trust in Him to guide you in all your endeavours. Start by taking up responsibilities in your school and do it well.

OPEN HEAVEN 24 JANUARY 2023 MESSAGE

Fire is very generous. If you have one hundred candles to light, all you have to do is light one of them and that one candle can be used to light the remaining 99. Fire lights up other materials that have the potential to carry it. Fire is always looking out for good materials that are flammable.

In Deuteronomy 34:9, when Moses saw that Joshua was a good material, he imparted the Spirit of Wisdom into him. When Elijah saw that Elisha was a good material, he gave him a double portion of his power. Who are the good materials that you have noticed around you people with potential to do exploits for God, if only they could be mentored correctly? Get close to them and heat them up for God.

You don’t know how far that good material around you will burn for God if only you can bring him or her close enough to get some heat from you. I don’t understand how some men of God try to quench the fire of others. Fire does not compete with itself.

When fire meets fire, they join forces to impact the environment even more. Is there someone else who carries fire around you? Put denomination aside and join forces to advance the Kingdom of God. Individually there are some obstacles that your fire may be too small to overcome, but when you come together, you can bring down very high mountains.

When one fire seems to be going down, the moment it comes in contact with another, the new one rekindles it and makes it burn more. It amazes me that sometimes when children of God see another child of God cold, they would rejoice and say they are ‘minding their own business’ rather than getting closer to the person and helping to rekindle his or her fire so that the person can burn even more for God.

Fire burns better when it is in contact with other fires. You and other fires around you will burn better if you come together from time to time to rekindle one another. This is why you find pastors coming together to form associations, so that everyone can ensure that nobody’s fire goes down. Believe me honestly, you will burn better if you don’t look away when you notice that the fire of someone else is going down.

4 And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.

5 And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.

6 And when we had taken our leave one of another, we took ship; and they returned home again.

7 And when we had finished our course from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, and saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day.

OPEN HEAVEN 25 JANUARY 2023 MESSAGE

Fire is relentless; once it starts, it could take over its entire surroundings if not well controlled. It just keeps going, clearing off anything that is on its path. As we see in our Bible reading today, Paul did not allow anything at all to discourage him from working for God.

In another instance (Acts 13:6-12), Paul was trying to preach to a governor, but Elymas, the sorcerer, tried to convince the man not to accept the gospel. Paul did not get discouraged; he struck the sorcerer with blindness, got him out of the way and won the governor for Christ.

Fire is never afraid of whatever stands in its path. I remember when we first went to the town of Ede in Nigeria to hold a crusade. There were indications of resistance in the spirit realm, but we put our faith in God and were not discouraged.

As the programme was starting, it began to rain very heavily. I wasn’t bothered; as long as it was rain and not fire falling, I decided we would continue the programme. Suddenly, as the choir was about to step on the stage, it collapsed. There was a brother there who owned a tipper. I told him to drive the tipper into the crusade ground, and it became our stage.

We went ahead to hold the programme despite all the challenges we faced. Don’t be discouraged by all those who are trying to stand in the way of the assignments God has committed into your hands; keep going. If they refuse to move out of your way, they will be consumed in Jesus’ name.

Be relentless in your pursuit of Kingdom goals. Don’t let lack of funds stop you from doing what you want to do for God. Get going; God will provide the funds when you move. Don’t let disappointments and betrayals weigh you down; encourage yourself in the Lord and keep moving (1 Samuel 30:6).

Over the years, so many things have stood in my way – including man-made laws. If those who decide to obstruct me remain in my way, no problem; whatever casualties will result from that will not be my fault. You must be relentless if you really want to be what God has called you to be. You must never let anything stop you.
