OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 12 FEBRUARY 2024 BIBLE READING LEVITICUS 19:11,13

[11]Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.

[13]Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 12 FEBRUARY 2024 MESSAGE

Technological advancements in the world today allow people to connect swiftly with one another through the internet and other forms of digital media.

Many young professionals have become successful using online resources, and many businesses have thrived by using online platforms to promote their goods and services.

However, cybercrimes seem to be spreading fast in the world today.

Young geniuses with exceptional brains who should be working on bringing solutions to some of the world’s problems are busy designing apps and systems online to defraud people of their hard-earned money.

This is bad! I want to believe that you are not involved in such a nefarious act. However, if you are, I urge you to stop it.

Some young people say that they want to enjoy a ‘soft life’ by just sitting behind the computer and making money.

This is very good if you are doing a legal remote job. Anything you do online to make money must be legal and must honour God.

God hates stealing, and this is the reason He commanded, Thou shalt not steal” (Exodus 20:15).

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 12 FEBRUARY 2024 REFECTION

Do not use your digital skills for nefarious activities; glorify God with them.

HYMN 8 – LEAD US HEAVENLY FATHER, LEAD US

1. Lead us, heavenly Father, lead us
O’er the world’s tempestuous sea;
Guard us, guide us, keep us, feed us,
For we have no help but Thee,
Yet possessing every blessing
If our God our Father be.

2. Saviour, breathe forgiveness o’er us;
All our weakness Thou dost know;
Thou didst tread this earth before us,
Thou didst feel its keenest woe;
Lone and dreary, faint and weary,
Through the desert Thou didst go.

3. Spirit of our God, descending,
Fill our hearts with heavenly joy,
Love with every passion blending,
Pleasure that can never cloy;
Thus provided, pardoned, guided,
Nothing can our peace destroy.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 11 FEBRUARY 2024 MESSAGE

The rate at which health products and supplements are sold is an indication of an increase in health issues around the world today.

Some people have unhealthy eating habits, and they later look for health products to help remove excess fat.

However, if they just eat right, they would have zero health issues.

With my knowledge of the chemical components of food, I always ensure that plant-based foods such as vegetables and fruits are included in my family’s meals.

This is supported by today’s memory verse. It is very important to pay great attention to eating right so that you won’t have to battle diseases in the future.

Also, you should eat balanced meals in moderate portions.

Don’t eat the quantity of food that you should ordinarily consume three times in one sitting with the excuse that you are growing or experiencing puberty-that is gluttony.

You have only one body; please take care of it. Don’t destroy it by feeding on too much processed food, junk, beef, carbonated drinks, et cetera.

Eat healthily to build your immunity and stay in shape so that you can fulfil your kingdom purpose.

HYMN 10 – O GOD, OUR HELP IN AGES PAST

1. O God, our help in ages past
Our hope for years to come
Our shelter from the stormy blast
And our eternal home.

2. Under the shadow of Thy throne
Thy saints have dwelt secure
Sufficient is Thine arm alone
And our defence is sure.

3. Before the hills in order stood
Or earth received her frame
From everlasting Thou art God
To endless years the same.

4. A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are like an evening gone
Short as he watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.

5. Time, like an ever-rolling stream
Bears all its sons away
They fly forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the opening day.

6. O God, our help in ages past
Our hope in years to come
Be thou our guard while trouble last
And our Eternal home.

2 Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

INTRODUCTION: Cohabitation is a relationship that exists between people who live together and have sexual relationships without being legally married to each other. Currently, cohabiting seems to be gaining ground among young people. This is not the right concept when put on the scale of God’s standard. We shall look at some things that cohabiting will not do and the way out.

i. To solve housing problems.
ii. For emotional attachment.
iii. To test for compatibility.
iv. To solve economic problems, etc.

B. The effects of cohabitation should be discussed with the teacher’s guide:
i. Cohabiting may appear to have solved housing and economic problems but underneath is untold stories of painful experiences (Prov. 9:17-18).

i. It is not a surety or an assurance that one will really know the behaviour of the other person fully because the heart is deceitful (Jer. 17:9).
ii. It will not change the negative habits of an individual.
iii. It subjugates rather than provides freedom as one is at the whims and caprices of the cohabitant.
iv. The unholy act of fornication will not yield a holy sexual relationship (1Cor. 6:18; 7:2; 10:8).
v. It will not rule out disappointments or skirmishes between the two partners.
vi. The security or sustenance of the relationship is not guaranteed.

Ii. Do the right thing by getting into a pure proper courtship with marriage in view (1Cor. 7:1-2).
iii. Stop trial and error relationship and get married legally if you know you are mature for marriage (1Cor. 7:9).
iv. Make up your mind to honour God with your body because it is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1Cor. 3:16-17; 6:19).
v. Avoid sex before marriage (Heb. 13:4).
vi. Patience is the rule of the game (1Cor. 13:4).

MEMORY VERSE: Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish. Psalms 49:20

INTRODUCTION: After we surrendered our lives to Jesus, He gave us our redemption package. Inside this package is everything that will make life enjoyable. These things make Christianity delightful and beautiful. It is, therefore, expedient that we unfold our redemption package to enjoy its benefits.

a. know the constituents of the believers’ redemptive package.
b. Identify the benefits of the redemptive package.
c. Understand why some do not make most of
the redemptive package

ii. For I rejoice …………………………………..V3.
iii. I have no ……………………………………..V4.

OUTLINES:
1. REASONS FOR NOT ENJOYING THE REDEMPTION PACKAGE
2. UNFOLDING THE REDEMPTION PACKAGE

1. REASONS FOR NOT ENJOYING THE REDEMPTION PACKAGE
Certain factors may be attributed to the inability of a Christian to enjoy the benefits of redemption.
A. Ignorance is one of them (John 8:32).
i. These benefits are written all over the pages of the Bible.
ii. We must search them out to know them (John 5:39; Acts 17:11).
iii. Until we discover them, we cannot enjoy them (Isaiah 5:13; Hosea 4:6).
B. Another reason is that some Christians have been wrongly taught to be content with their present state.
i. Sometimes you hear them say, “Thank God, I am saved: at least, I am going to Heaven.”
ii. Some Christians may decide to live and die like Lazarus: sick, afflicted, and poor; while others decide to live and die like Abraham; rich and healthy (Luke 16:20-21; Genesis 25:8-10).
iii. Do not be content with your present state, if it is not a pleasant one.
iv. We must revolt against lack, want, sicknesses, affliction, and any other thing that does not bring glory to God in our lives.

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: How can one enjoy the Redemptive package?

2. UNFOLDING THE REDEMPTION PACKAGE
Some of the things that accompany salvation can be broadly categorised as follows:
1. Deliverance: This is being set free from the power of darkness. This include:
i. Deliverance from curses and evil covenants (Galatians 3:13; Romans 8:1).
ii. Deliverance from the spirit of fear (2 Timothy. 1:7). Fear has torment (1 John 4:18).
iii. Deliverance from demonic oppressions (Isaiah 49:24-26; Luke 10:19).
iv. Deliverance from the wrath of God (Romans 5:9; Ephesians 5:6).
2. Victory: This means triumphing, dominating, etc. (1 Corinthians 15:57). In the victory package is victory over:
i. Sin (Romans 6:14).
ii. Enemies (Isaiah 59:19).
iii. Devil (Revelation 12:11).
iv. Sickness and diseases (Exodus 15:26; Isaiah 53:4-5).
v. Death (both physical and spiritual) – Isaiah 28:18a.
3. Prosperity: Abundant provisions have been made for us (2 Corinthians 8:9; Job 36:11). However, some Christians are suffering, not because they are not saved, but because they are not meeting the conditions of the covenant of prosperity (sowing, giving, tithing, etc. – 2 Corinthians 9: 6, 8).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Students should share with the class what changed in their lives since they gave their lives to Christ.

CONCLUSION: If we, as Christians, look mournful and sickly, it may be that we have not been claiming our redemption benefits. We must claim our redemption package. It is our covenant right.

QUESTIONS:
* Mention three reasons believers do not enjoy the redemption package.
* Mention two benefits that believers can get from the redemption package

EVALUATION: Why do some believers not make the most of their redemptive package?

CLOSING PRAYER: If you have given your life to Christ, pray for the grace to enjoy the blessings of the redemption package Christ gave to you. If you are yet to receive Him as your Saviour, ask for the redemption package now.

ASSIGNMENT: Write five redemption package benefits that you are enjoying. (2×5=10 marks).

DAY 31 – Saturday

PRAYER AGAINST EVIL MARKS
BIBLE TEXT(S): Ezekiel 9:4-5, Gen, 4:15, Ps. 105:14-15, Gal 6:17

INTRODUCTION: The first mark on man’s body was put by God on Cain. It was to enable him to serve the punishment of being a fugitive successfully for killing his brother Abel.
Marks can be positive or negative, visible or invisible. We need to pray to eradicate the effect of evil marks in our lives.

Let us Pray;

1. Father, we thank You for Your mercy over our lives in Jesus name.

2. Father, to get rid of every aspect of rebellion in my life, I surrender my life to
Christ in Jesus name.

3. Father, I plead the blood of Jesus over my body, soul and spirit in Jesus
name. – Rev. 12:11

4. Father, let the blood of Jesus blot out all evil marks from my life, in Jesus’ name. – Col. 2:14-15

5. Father I plead the blood of Jesus into my foundation, in Jesus’ name.

6. Father, let the blood of Jesus uproot and wash away the source of every evil mark in my life and family in the name of Jesus.

7. Father, every satanic mark in my body, soul and spirit be erased now in the name of Jesus.

8. Father, every circle of sorrow and tears in my life, be broken in the name of Jesus.

9. Father, You answered Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, if my name is attracting evil to me, oh God, give me a new name, in Jesus’ name.

10. Father, every mark of “receiving and losing” working against my life be erased now in Jesus’ name.

11. You power of incision or tribal marks working against my destiny be destroyed now by the power in the blood of Jesus in Jesus’ name.

12. Father, let Your wind blow away every power chasing away good things from me. Let them be paralyzed by fire in Jesus’ name.

13. Father, from now on let no one trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus in Jesus’ name. – Gal. 6:17

14. Father, let my glory reject every form of satanic manipulation, evil exchange, or evil transfer, in Jesus’ name.

15. Father, Your wind is blowing. Let the blood of Jesus that washes whiter than snow, wash away every evil mark in my body in Jesus’ name.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 10 FEBRUARY 2024 SATURDAY: HOW TO BANISH LUST III

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 10 FEBRUARY 2024 MEMORIZE: He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Proverbs 13:20

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 10 FEBRUARY 2024 BIBLE READING 1 CORINTHIANS 15:33

Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 10 FEBRUARY 2024 MESSAGE

A wise man once said, if you want to stop a bad habit, start a new one so that the old habit will gradually fade out.

To banish lust completely, you should do the following:
1. Choose your friends wisely: Surround yourself with true Christian friends who will dissuade you from sinning against God. Amnon was advised by a bad cousin to sleep with his sister, and this eventually led to his destruction (2 Samuel 13:1-29). Choose friends who will make you do the right things.

2. Maintain godly standards: Despite the temptations that life throws your way, you should be self- disciplined and hold yourself to a high moral standard in all areas of your life.

3. Redirect your passion: For example, if the thought of masturbation comes to your mind, leave where you are immediately to get some fresh air, or find someone to engage in a conversation with to distract yourself. OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 10 FEBRUARY 2024 HYMN

HYMN 5 – JESUS, MY LORD, MY GOD, MY ALL

1. Jesus, my Lord, my God, my all,
Hear me, blest Saviour, when I call;
Hear me, and from Thy dwelling place
Pour down the riches of Thy grace;

CHORUS
Jesus, my Lord, I Thee adore;
Oh make me love Thee more and more.

2. Jesus, too late I Thee have sought;
How can I love Thee as I ought?
And how extol Thy matchless fame,
The glorious beauty of Thy name?

3. Jesus, what didst Thou find in me,
That Thou hast dealt so lovingly?
How great the joy that Thou hast brought
So far exceeding hope or thought!

4. Jesus, of Thee shall be my song,
To Thee my heart and soul belong;
All that I have or am is Thine,
And Thou, blest Saviour, Thou art mine.

Thy friendship suits me well,
Both young and old will sing Thy song,
We long for Sunday School.

Christ was Thy first teacher,
The Holy Spirit, great teacher,
Does manifest in thee.

This testimony is sure,
That God, the Father Almighty,
Poured His blessing on Thee

5. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
Though the sun be so bright,
Or if the clouds be black with rain,
I’ll be in Sunday School.

6. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day
I rejoice to see Thee,
Will thou pass over me today?
Without my being blest?

MEMORY VERSE: “But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie”. Revelation 22:15 (NKJV)

BIBLE PASSAGE: 1 CORINTHIANS 7:1-2
1 Now concerning the things of which you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

LESSON OUTLINES
1. REASONS AND EFFECTS
2. THE WAY OUT

1. REASONS AND EFFECTS
Cohabiters venture into this acts for various reasons such as to solve their housing problems, emotional attachment, tests for compatibility, solve economic problems, etc. Cohabiting may appear to have solved housing and economic problems but underneath is untold stories of painful experiences (Prov. 9:17-18). Cohabiting will not guarantee a perfect relationship (Psm. 127:1). It is not a surety or an assurance that one will really know the behaviour of the other person fully because the heart is deceitful (Jer. 17:9). It will not change the negative habits of an individual. It subjugates rather than provides freedom as one is at the whims and caprices of the cohabitant. The unholy act of fornication will not yield a holy sexual relationship (1Cor. 6:18; 7:2; 10:8). It will not rule out disappointments or skirmishes between the two partners. The security or sustenance of the relationship is not guaranteed. It may result in unplanned pregnancy, abortion, or unwanted babies. It can fuel low self-esteem.

2. THE WAY OUT
There are many good ways to deal with economic and relationship issues instead of cohabiting (Prov. 3:5-6). Do not right thing by getting into a pure proper courtship with marriage in view (1Cor. 7:1-2). Stop trial and error relationship and get married legally if you know you are mature for marriage (1Cor. 7:9). Make up your mind to honour God with your body because it is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1Cor. 3:16-17; 6:19). Avoid sex before marriage (Heb. 13:4). Patience is the rule of the game (1Cor. 13:4). Get the foundation right, so you can build a good and fruitful home on the right footing (Psm. 11:3). Secure a beautiful and stable future for your children (Gal. 6:7).

CONCLUSION: Cohabiting is a products of disobedience and dishonour. Do the right thing.
