OPEN HEAVEN 12 OCTOBER 2024 MEMORISE: Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Matthew 5:7

OPEN HEAVEN 12 OCTOBER 2024 READ: Matthew 18:21-35:

21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou lowest.

29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

OPEN HEAVEN 12 OCTOBER 2024 TODAY MESSAGE

Many people ask God for mercy, but when God looks into their lives and sees that they don’t show mercy to others around them, He withholds His mercy.

From our memory verse today, you will realise that if you are merciful to others, you will also enjoy God’s mercy.

Psalm 130:3 says that if God were to count our iniquities, we will not stand.

It is only by His mercy that we are still alive, and if we are wise, we will also have mercy on those around us.

In our Bible reading for today, Jesus Christ told the story of a man who owed the king ten thousand talents.

The king commanded that he and his family be sold in order to pay the debt, but the man asked for mercy, and the king forgave him of the debt.

The same man went out and saw someone that owed him a hundred pence.

His debtor begged for a little more time to pay his debt, but this man refused to forgive the debtor and locked him in prison.

The king heard about it, withdrew his mercy, and gave the unmerciful servant to tormentors.

Proverbs 11:17 says: The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

The Scripture above says that when you are merciful, you are doing good to yourself, but if you are cruel, you are hurting yourself because your cruelty will only rob you of the mercies of God.

In John 14:23, Jesus said if you love Him, His Father will love you, and both of them will come and dwell in you.

How do you show God that you love Him? 1 John 4:21 says that if you love God, then you must love your brother.

Love your neighbour like yourself because you cannot say you love God and hate your neighbour.

If you decide not to love your neighbour, you are telling God that you don’t need His love.

Galatians 6:7 says: Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Whatever you sow is what you will reap. If you sow mercy into the lives of others, you will reap mercy.

However, if you decide to sow unforgiveness, then do not complain when you reap unforgiveness (Job 4:8).

OPEN HEAVEN 12 OCTOBER 2024 ACTION POINT

Be merciful to everyone.

OPEN HEAVEN 12 OCTOBER 2024 HYMN 23

TAKE MY LIFE AND LET IT BE

1 Take my life, and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

2 Take my hands, and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love;
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee,
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

3 Take my voice, and let me sing
Always, only, for my King;
Take my lips, and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee,
Filled with messages from Thee.

4 Take my silver and my gold;
Not a mite would I withhold;
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as Thou shalt choose,
Every power as Thou shalt choose.

5 Take my will, and make it Thine;
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart; it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne
It shall be Thy royal throne.

6 Take my love; my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure-store.
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee,
Ever, only, all for Thee.

OPEN HEAVEN 13 OCTOBER 2024 MEMORISE: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all. Genesis 14:20

OPEN HEAVEN 13 OCTOBER 2024 READ: 2 Corinthians 9:1-7:

For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:

2 For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.

3 Yet have I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready:

4 Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be ashamed in this same confident boasting.

5 Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.

6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

OPEN HEAVEN 13 OCTOBER 2024 MESSAGE

I have a close friend who was the president of a country.

One day, I said to him, “You’ve been president for almost seven years, and you’ve never given me anything since.”

He looked at me and said, “You’ve never asked.” I replied, “Friends don’t ask. If we are friends, I don’t need to ask you. A friend gives to his or her friend without him or her asking.”

When lovers are in a courtship and there is no exchange of gifts between them, no matter how small, that love might just be questionable because one of the major ways of demonstrating love is by giving (John 3:16).

Many people claim to be God’s friends, but from their reaction when it comes to giving to God, you will realise that they are not.

Real friends of God will not wait until an announcement is made for offerings to be made to God before giving to Him.

Real friends of God will constantly look for ways to give to Him because of how much they love Him.

I recall a time that I went to minister at a church some years ago, and everyone in the congregation was looking so radiant.

By looking at them, you could tell that God had really blessed them. I was thinking about how blessed they were when the minister on the altar said, “It’s offering time.”

You could see the joy in the auditorium as they all clapped and shouted.

Then, God told me, “This is why I have blessed them so much; they give to me cheerfully.”

Those who are always happy to give to God, and who don’t need to be cajoled or asked before they do so, always enjoy abundant blessings.

God sees them as His genuine friends, so He also doesn’t wait for them to ask before giving to them.

David was a man who always wanted to give to God. He said in 1 Chronicles 21:24 that he would never give God anything that costs him nothing.

As a result, God said that He had given him everything he ever wanted and that if he wanted more, He would have given him (2 Samuel 12:8).

He never let him lack anything because he was His friend indeed.

God never asked Abraham for a tithe in Genesis 14:20 before Abraham gave it to Him.

Nowadays, even after God has said that we should bring tithes into His house (Malachi 3:10-12), some Christians still argue about whether they should pay tithes or not.

Such Christians are only pretending to be friends of God.

BIBLE PASSAGE: Isaiah 1:18-20.
[18]“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.
[19]If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;
[20]But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword”; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken. The Degenerate City

MEMORY VERSE: “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (NKJV).

INTRODUCTION: There are diverse views, both within and without, about the Christian faith. Some call it a religion, while others say it is a way of life. In some quarters, it is believed that it is a personal relationship with God. What exactly is the tenet of our faith as Christians and how does it compare with other faiths? Is it a religion or a relationship?

OUTLINES:
1. More Than A Religion
2. A Call To A Relationship

1. MORE THAN A RELIGION
Simply put, religion is the belief in and worship of a superhuman – with controlling power, especially a personal God or gods (Exodus 34:14). In that respect, Christianity can be classified as a religion. However, practically speaking, Christianity has a key difference that separates it from other belief systems that are considered religions. Most religions are man-centred. They are built upon the concept that man can reach a higher power – God, through his efforts – good works, sacrifices, rituals, etc. In that regard, Christianity is not a religion.
Just as the Jewish leaders made a religion out of a relationship with God, many people do the same with Christianity. They follow the way of the Pharisees in creating rules not found in Scripture (Mark 7:8). Some who profess to follow Christ are merely following man-made religion in the name of Jesus (Colossians 2:8). While claiming to believe Scripture, they are often plagued with fear and doubt that they may not be good enough to earn salvation or that God will not accept them if they do not carry out some ritualistic activities or perform to a certain standard (Ephesians 2:8-9). The leaders of religious sects add many of their own rules to make it even more cumbersome (Matthew 15:9). They pride themselves on their ability to keep the Law – at least outwardly. This is religion masquerading as Christianity: it is one of Satan’s favourite tricks (Matthew 23:1-7).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Students should discuss other reasons the Christian faith is more than a religion.

2. A CALL TO A RELATIONSHIP
The Christian faith is a relationship that God has established with His children. The Bible states clearly that there is nothing man can do to make himself right with God (Isaiah 64:6). God did for us what we cannot do for ourselves (Colossians 2:13; 2 Corinthians 5:21). Our sin separates us from His presence, and sin must be punished (Romans 6:23). However, because God loves us, He took our punishment upon Himself (Isaiah 53:5). All we must do is to accept God’s gift of salvation by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9).
The grace-based relationship between God and man is the foundation of Christianity and the opposite of religion (Titus 2:11-14). We love God because He first loved us (1 John 4:19).
Holiness and obedience to Scripture are important, but they are pieces of evidence of a transformed heart, not a means to attain it. God desires that we be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). He wants us to grow in grace and the knowledge of Him (2 Peter 3:18). We do these things because we are His children and want to be like Him. God wants us to know Him, draw near to Him, pray to Him, and love Him above everything. That is not religion; that is a relationship.

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Mention the encounter(s) you’ve had in your Christian faith that shows you clearly that you are in a relationship with God.

CONCLUSION: Christianity is not about signing up for a religion. Christianity is about being born into the family of God (John 3:3).

QUESTIONS
* What is religion?
* Explain the Christian faith.

BIBLE PASSAGE: Luke 9:57-62.
[57]And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
[58]And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
[59]And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
[60]Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
[61]And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
[62]And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

MEMORY VERSE: “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” 1 John 2:6.

INTRODUCTION: The term “disciple” originally meant a pupil or an apprentice to a teacher or master craftsman. It is another word for a follower of Christ, one who is learning to be like his Master (Matthew 16:24; 1 Peter 2:21-22).
Discipline is the quality of being able to behave and work in a controlled way which involves obeying specific rules. We shall examine what a disciple’s attitude to sin should be and the key disciplines of true disciples.

OUTLINES:
1. A DISCIPLE’S ATTRIBUTE
2. KEY DISCIPLINES

1. A DISCIPLE’S ATTRIBUTE
The starting point in following Jesus’ exemplary life is the forgiveness of sin and reconciliation with God through Jesus’ death. Then, a disciple of Jesus enters a life-long learning process to live the same life as Jesus lived (Luke 6:40). Just as their Master, the disciples of Christ must: commit to doing all of God’s will while giving up their own will (Luke 22:42); live a sin-free life and overcome lust (Galatians 5:24); be willing to suffer (Philippians 1:29); love unconditionally in the face of adversity (Matthew 5:43-45); be diligent and zealous for the things of God (Hebrews 6:10-11); have a burden for soul winning (Acts 4:16-20); live sacrificially (2Corinthians 12:15); remain humble and obedient (Philippians 2:5-8).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: What other attributes do you think a disciple should have?

2. KEY DISCIPLINES
Anyone who will follow the examples of Jesus successfully must be disciplined because discipline is the hallmark of success. Some of the key disciplines every disciple of Christ must have are:
1. Purposefulness: Concentration is the secret of power. The first discipline of discipleship is to be purposeful, determined, single-minded, and focused in the pursuit of the Lord and His kingdom (Philippians 3:13; Matthew 6:24).
2. Perseverance: Like our Master, Jesus; disciples must stay focused on the task and avoid distractions. Be persistent in proclaiming the word at all times, and avoid discouragement (Matthew 10:22-23).
3. Promptness: The ability not to put off for tomorrow what must be done today is a great gift to be sought from God. It is the gift to joyfully run to what God instructs without delay. There is a peril in procrastination (Psalm 95:6-8; Proverbs 27:1).
4. Permanence: When we accepted Christ, there were some things we used to do that we have no business doing now. Things like: harmful habits, ruinous relationships, perilous pleasures, etc. We need to give up our former ways and not look back (Hebrews 12:1-2; Luke 9:58-62).

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Mention additional key disciplines of a disciple

CONCLUSION: The role of every disciple is to stay committed and true to the Master. This will lead to great success.

QUESTIONS
*.Mention three attributes of a disciple.
* What are the key disciplines of a disciple?

ASSIGNMENT: Mention five benefits of discipline (2×5=10 Marks).

So greatly prospered by the Lord,
They have taken me into their arms
And am so glad to be
A part of this great family

3. I know this family of God,
So deeply rooted in the word,
They have taken me into their arms
And am so glad to be
A part of this great family

4. I see this family of God,
So highly lifted above all,
They have taken me into their arms
And am so glad to be
A part of this great family

5. Come, join this family of God,
So highly favoured by the Lord,
They have taken me into their arms
And am so glad to be
A part of this great family.

OPENING PRAYER: Father, keep me from known and unknown errors that can destabilize my journey in life in Jesus name.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Leaders should ask members what are the inputs Jabez deployed to his life before attaining greatness.

MEMORY VERSE: Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass when the Lord commendeth it not? Lamentation 3:37

BIBLE TEXT: Lamentations 3:31-37
[31]For the Lord will not cast off for ever:
[32]But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
[33]For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
[34]To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,
[35]To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
[36]To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.
[37]Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?

LESSON INTRODUCTION: To subvert (overturn from the foundation, overthrown) a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not. Lam.3:36. There is an ordained provision from God to everyone that confess to be a believer sound health, grace to be the head, victory over challenges of life, release of timely helpers, termination of wicked and deadly evil covenant, e.t.c, so who is that person that will now deny you of enjoying these precious promises.
For a child of God to receive the actualization of God’s promises, there is room to react to demonic pressure and advances.

LESSON AIM: To encourage members to always hold on to what God says not what the devil says, circumstances or challenges of life is posing as threat to their well-being or sustenance.

LEADER’S OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to have:
a. Knowledge that God’s counsel must always prevail in every area of one’s life.
b. Understanding that sin is the only wall or hindrance to getting your desired victory.

TEXT REVIEW: Lamentation 3:31-37
– God does not afflict His children willingly, affliction comes as a result of sin committed.
– The Lord will not cast His beloved off forever.
– God will never approve the will of evil men to prevail over His children.
No counsel can fly without divine authorization.

Lesson Outline One
GOD’S COUNSEL WILL PREVAIL.
Can anything happen without the Lord’s permission both good or bad? God permits what will happen in the life of individual, without His permission, there is no implementation. Let us look at biblical examples of people that prevailed with God’s permission despite all oppositions.
1) Joseph prevailed against his brothers opposition to his dreams. Gen. 37:5-8; 42:6-9
2) David prevailed over opposition from king Saul.
3) Three Hebrew men prevailed evil counsel of king Nebuchadnezzer. Daniel 3:4-25.
4) King Hezekiah prevailed over Assyrians that besieged land of Judah. 2 Kings 19:32-37.
5) Mordecai prevailed over Haman. Esther 6:13
6) Elisha prevailed over king of Syria. 2 Kings 6:11-23.
7) Micaiah prevailed over king Ahab. 1 kings 22:15-35.
8) Jesus prevailed over devil and his allies (sickness, affliction) Matthew 4:3-11, 14:17-21.

Lesson Outline Two.
YOUR SIN, YOUR WALL (HINDRANCE) TO YOUR TESTIMONIES.
What is sin?
a) A violation of God’s will, instructions or commandment.
b) Act of wickedness. Genesis 13:13. Psalm 104:35
c) Association with bad company and consenting to bad influence. Proverbs 1:10, 1 Corinthians 15:33.
d) Doing evil. 1 Kings 15:30.
e) Working against God’s programme.

RESULTS OF SIN
– Provocation of God’s anger: 1 kings 15:30, Psalm 104:35.
– Removal of divine privileges.
– Sinners have no place in God’s plan and chased by trouble. Proverbs 13:21
– It brings divine replacement. E.g, King Saul and Eli were replaced. Samuel 3:12-14.
– Loss of right in destiny. Proverbs 13:22.

EXAMPLES OF THOSE THAT LOST FULFILLMENT DUE TO SIN
• Moses: Did not enter the promise land
• Eli: Divine exchange of God’s promises.
• Solomon: Division of tribes of Israel.
• Ten Spies: Died as a result of evil report.
• Micah: Remained barren as a result of despising King David.

SUMMARY: To prevail as a child of God, you have to abstain from what can bring God’s wrath. Joseph prevailed against his brothers’ opposition to his dreams. Gen.37:5-8,42:6-9.

CONCLUSION: Thought of God towards His elect is always positive. Jeremiah 29:11 (getting the best, being kept from enemy’s advances, enjoying divine privileges, surrounded with desire helpers and walking in
dominion) but all these can be reversed and lost when there is provision and
retention of sinful lives.

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 11 OCTOBER 2024 MESSAGE

Today, many young people use the word ‘freedom’ when it comes to their individual rights and choices.

They use this word to imply that there should be no limit or restraint to their freedom.

However, I would like to establish that freedom isn’t a license to misbehave, and neither is it a concept that connotes the absence of responsibilities.

Freedom does not mean being free to do whatever you want without being held accountable.

This is because there are consequences for every action. For example, you cannot say that you want to drive a car without being responsible for the things that come with driving the car.

Beloved, as you go on in life, I want you to realise that any freedom that is not curtailed will get you into trouble.

This is the reason you have to live within certain parameters that are set for you by your parents and especially the word of God.

These will instill discipline, commitment, and dedication in you, which are traits that are instrumental to your greatness.

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 11 OCTOBER 2024 KEY POINT

Freedom does not mean being irresponsible.

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 11 OCTOBER 2024 HYMN 56

NEARER, MY GOD TO THEE

1. Nearer, My God, To Thee,
Nearer To Thee;
E’en Though It Be A Cross
That Raiseth Me,
Still All My Song Shall Be,
Nearer, My God, To Thee,
Nearer, My God, To Thee,
Nearer To Thee!

2. Though Like The Wanderer,
The Sun Gone Down,
Darkness Be Over Me,
My Rest A Stone,
Yet In My Dreams I’d Be
Nearer, My God, To Thee,
Nearer, My God, To Thee,
Nearer To Thee!

3. There Let The Way Appear
Steps Unto Heaven;
All That Thou Send’st To Me
In Mercy Given;
Angels To Beckon Me
Nearer, My God, To Thee,
Nearer To Thee!

4. Then With My Waking Thoughts
Bright With Thy Praise,
Out Of My Stony Griefs
Bethel I’ll Raise;
So By My Woes To Be
Nearer, My God, To Thee,
Nearer To Thee!

5. Or If On Joyful Wing
Cleaving The Sky,
Sun, Moon, And Stars Forgot,
Upward I Fly,
Still All My Song Shall Be,
Nearer, My God, To Thee;
Nearer To Thee!

OPENING PRAYER: Father, let me understand what it takes to be a Disciple.

It is another word for a follower of Christ, one who is learning to be like his Master (Matthew 16:24; 1Peter 2:21-22). Discipline is the quality of being able to behave and work in a controlled way which involves obeying specific rules. We shall examine what a disciple’s attitude to sin should be and the key disciplines of true disciples.

LESSON AIM: To teach believers what it costs to be a disciple.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the study, students should be able to:
• Understand what discipleship entails.
• Identify the attributes of a disciple.
• Recognise the key discipline of a disciple.

TEACHING PLAN: To achieve the above-stated objectives, the teacher should:
a. Allow the students to recite the memory verse, read the Bible passage, contribute to the discussion, and do class activities and assignments.
b. Allow the Assistant Teacher to see to the well-being of the class, and mark attendance and assignment.
c. Teach the lesson outline, summarize, conclude, evaluate the lesson and give assignments.

TEXT REVIEW: Luke 9:57-62.

OUTLINES:
1. A DISCIPLE’S ATTRIBUTE
2. KEY DISCIPLINES

1. A DISCIPLE’S ATTRIBUTE
1. The starting point in following Jesus’ exemplary life is the forgiveness of sin and reconciliation with God through Jesus’ death.
2. Then, a disciple of Jesus enters a life-long learning process to live the same life as Jesus lived (Luke 6:40). Just as their Master, the disciples of Christ must:
i. Commit to doing all of God’s will while giving up their own will (Luke 22:42);
ii. Live a sin-free life and overcome lust (Galatians 5:24); be willing to suffer (Philippians 1:29);
iii. Love unconditionally in the face of adversity (Matthew 5:43-45);
iv. Be diligent and zealous for the things of God (Hebrews 6:10-11);
v. Have a burden for soul winning (Acts 4:16-20);
vi. Live sacrificially (2 Corinthians 12:15);
vii. Remain humble and obedient (Philippians 2:5-8).

QUESTIONS:
* Mention three attributes of a disciple.
* What are the key disciplines of a disciple?

EVALUATION: Students should mention three attributes of a disciple.

CLOSING PRAYER: Father, please keep me as Your true disciple till the end.

ASSIGNMENT: Mention five benefits of discipline (2×5=10 Marks).

6. The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:

7. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.

8. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

OPEN HEAVEN 11 OCTOBER 2024 MESSAGE

Do you know that it is possible to commit God to do some things for you and leave Him with no choice but to do them?

Psalm 115:3 says that God is sovereign, He does as He pleases, but if you know Him well, you can position yourself such that the Almighty will do what you want.

Going by today’s memory verse, if you can find what God’s word says about what you want and align yourself with it, He will be committed to doing His part.

For example, Psalm 75:6-7 says that promotion comes from God.

1 Samuel 2:7-8 also says that God decides whom to raise and whom to bring down.

Since you know this, the question now becomes, “How do I get God to promote me?” The answer is in 1 Peter 5:6: “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:”

Therefore, if you notice that it seems like it is taking a long time for God to promote you, then you can make up your mind to be humble.

Once you are humble, He will be committed to exalting you in order to fulfil His word.

Proverbs 22:29 says that if you are diligent in your business, you will stand before kings.

Proverbs 12:24 also says that the hand of the diligent shall bear rule.

Therefore, if you want to get to the very top, you must add diligence to your humility, and in line with God’s word, He will raise you so high that you will be in the category of kings.

You can get God to do what you want if you do what He wants.

The devil, however, also knows this principle. When he doesn’t want God to do something for you, he tempts you to do something wrong so that he can accuse you before God and commit God not to bless you.

This is why Revelation 12:10 calls him the accuser of the brethren. He knows that God will not go against His word, so he tempts you into committing sin and accuses you before God.

This is why it is foolish to obey the one who has decided to destroy you by committing sin.

When next the devil tempts you, tell him, “I refuse to be a fool.”

Beloved, never give the devil the opportunity to use God’s word against you, rather, use God’s word to your favour by always praying according to His will.

OPEN HEAVEN 11 OCTOBER 2024 REFLECTION

Are you doing the things that will commit God to bless you and answer your prayers?

OPEN HEAVEN 11 OCTOBER 2024 HYMN 21:

STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF CHRIST MY KING

1. Standing on the promises of Christ, my King,
Through eternal ages let his praises ring;
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain:
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God, my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

2. Standing on the promises that cannot fail.
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]

3. Standing on the promises of Christ, the Lord,
Bound to him eternally by love’s strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
Standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]

4. Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
List’ning ev’ry moment to the Spirit’s call,
Resting in my Savior as my all in all,
Standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 10 OCTOBER 2024 MESSAGE

As a student in the school of Alife who pays attention to details, I can tell you that everything has a past, a present, and a future.

However, many people live only for the present under the guise that Jesus said in Matthew 6:34: Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.
Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

If you are wise, however, you will realise that there has to be a balance because Jesus asked in Luke 14:28: For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

My dear child, the future ahead of you is very great.

Hence, you need to carefully consider your thoughts, words, and actions now.

If you choose to do things wisely and discipline yourself, I can assure you that your future will be bright.

MY HOPE IS BUILT ON NOTHING ELSE

1. My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

Refrain:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

2. When darkness seems to veils His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil. [Refrain]

3. His oath, His covenant, and blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay. [Refrain]

4. When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne. [Refrain]
