When I was in primary school, my teacher beat a boy in my class whose parents are rich. The boy went home to tell his father and his father came to school the next day and beat up the teacher.

The teacher then went to report the case to the local police at the time, we used to call then ‘Akoda’. But before the teacher got to the police, the rich parent had went ahead to give the police a bribe.

The teacher, seeing that he was helpless, went back to the school and separated the rich students in the class from the poor ones. He then said that no matter what they did, he will never beat the rich ones again, he would only beat the poor ones.

Today, not one of the children that was in the group that was not beaten became successful in life.

My child, correction is for your good. Never repel correction. When someone corrects or chastens you, always be eager to take the correction and thank the fellow for correcting you.

Correction makes you better person, it is only if you don’t want to be better that you should hate correction.

KEY POINT:
Those who don’t like to be chastened don’t become successful in life

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Ezekiel 40, 1 Peter 5

Hymn 2

1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:
Trust and obey, for theres no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4. But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
